  1. I can't wait until mine comes, but I ordered him along with the one of the second run of Hegemon, so I gotta wait until he's released before they're shipped.
  2. I know Americans aren't the target audience. In fact, MP Spacebrick exists because he won some Japanese fan vote. That doesn't explain why Gakken, who I'm fairly certain is American, complains about Hot Rod, Blurr, and even Ironhide, then acts like Spacebrick is the greatest thing ever and can't fathom why members of a predominately American message board are pretty meh on it. If he grew up in Asia, I wouldn't be teasing him about it. Yes.
  3. Yeah, I get that Spacebrick is from a totally different show. That's why I absolutely do not get the love for him. Characters from the movie and seasons 3-4 had goofy, pseudo-future made-up alt modes instead of the real vehicles of the first two seasons. But at least they we watched the movie and seasons 3-4 as kids, and have the nostalgia factor. Spacebrick's a character a lot of American TF fans never even heard of until recently. He's got all the pseudo-future made-up crap without the benefit of nostalgia. And seriously, the American writers lost the plot? Season 3 has it's share of bad episodes, but in general the writing is better than the first two. It wouldn't be fair for me to call out Victory, because I've never seen it, but if it's anywhere near as bad as Headmasters and Masterforce, then it's awful.
  4. So wacky space cars are a no-go, but you're MW's biggest champion of MP Spacebrick? When I was a kid, I thought Hot Rod was cool, as he's basically the star of the movie, but I wasn't really into Rodimus Prime. As an adult, I see Hot Rod as the punk who got Optimus killed, while I love the insanity that is Rodimus' space winnebago.
  5. That looks a little better, but at this point I'm convinced that you're better off with Citizen Stack.
  6. TFSource has a preorder up for Eva Prime, and they're estimating November. I've been saying that. I love his trailer. But I don't love it $300+ worth, even if it comes with Fuglimus Prime. Nemesis Prime, Year of the Horse Prime, BAPE Prime, Eva Prime... when am I gonna get a dang MP Pepsi Prime?
  7. He looks really squat. I hope he's mistransformed or that's just a really unflattering angle, but I'm not liking what I see in that picture.
  8. I didn't love Doom 3 (or, I suppose, Doom in general... I was more of a Duke Nukem 3D guy) the way some of my friends did. Wolfenstein might be the best game I've played this year so far (granted, I haven't played Infamous yet), though, so if the new Doom is even half as good, I'm in.
  9. I think the problem is that HDCP-compliance is, IIRC, a moving target. That's why you'll see revisions in HDMI (1.2, 1.3, etc). DVI, I think, has remained rather static. I agree with Az, you're probably better off getting a new TV. I use DVI. My speakers are separate from my monitor, so the audio is moot, and I don't have a Blu-ray drive so HDCP compliance isn't a huge deal for me. Plus, I've run into issues with HDMI handshakes (at least, I did on an older computer hooked up to an older receiver to my old TV... things have probably improved). Basically, if the computer went to sleep and I switched to another input, when I switched back I wouldn't have any video, even after waking the computer. Again, this is likely to not be a problem with newer monitors and newer graphics cards, especially without a receiver between them. In theory, though, HDMI doesn't offer any quality advantage over DVI, so I went with DVI just in case. If you have a Blu-ray drive and plan on watching movies on your computer, or if you're using your monitor's built-in speakers, HDMI has its advantages, but otherwise it's six of one half a dozen of the other, if you ask me. Definitely not bad, but it doesn't look like it comes with a graphics card.
  10. A very fine brush. I don't do a lot of repainting, but some of the newer Transformers are really lacking in that department.
  11. The Vita TV is getting a US release as the PlayStation TV. Sony promises that at some point it will have the regular Vita's ability to stream from a PS4. I'll almost certainly get one for that reason alone. That would beat moving my whole PS4 to the bedroom next time I get the flu.
  12. Nothing I'm too excited about so far from E3. It's all either stuff I knew was coming out this year already, like Assassin's Creed Unity, Dragon Age Inquisition, and Forza Horizon 2, stuff I kind of don't care about like yet another Call of Duty, or stuff that's far enough in the future that I'll wait until next E3 to get excited like the new Mass Effect.
  13. I'm sorry, slaginpit. Almost every repaint I've seen has those parts in silver. My comments weren't meant to be a criticism of yours specifically or even the quality of any of those repaints in general. Primus knows I've got precious little talent for repainting, and what you've done is certain to look better than mine when I'm finished. Just a general comment that I don't get why everyone but me wants to paint that bit silver.
  14. That is exactly what I'm doing. To me, no version of G1 Optimus has had silver cab entry steps. Painting them silver takes a big red (in my mind) area and makes it a different color, no matter how likely a real Freightliner is to have silver steps. And that's why, to me, painting them silver on Evasion Mode Prime will always make him look odd to me in alt mode, no matter how much more accurate it makes his bot mode or how realistic it would be to have had silver steps in the first place.
  15. Red on MP-01, red on MP-10, red on G1 toy, red in the cartoon. Silver might be a more probable color for the cab entry steps for an actual Freightliner, but to me it's just not Optimus Prime accurate. Besides, just because 99 out of 100 Freightliners are going to have silver cab entry steps (I'm assuming because that's the color of the bare metal, paint would be likely to wear off), doesn't mean that red is wrong. I managed to find at least one with painted steps (although they're blue).
  16. While I haven't been a fan of the AoE toyline, or the movieverse toys in general, I picked up Voyager Grimlock on a whim. In bot mode, I don't think he looks too different from the Leader version, aside from lacking the chrome. However, I think his t-rex mode looks much better than the Leader version. I just need a little Optimus Prime to ride him.
  17. Any games you guys have been thinking about picking up, but haven't yet? Target's running a deal right now where if you reserve a game, you get $15 off of a game $39.99 and up. Target's reservation cards cost $1, so even if you don't want the game and never pick it up, you're still saving $14. Of course, if you do decide to pick up the game you reserved, you get a $5 gift card if you pick it up within a week of the release, so it's a pretty good deal either way.
  18. I've seen a lot of Evasion Prime repaints that paint the pointy bits by his shoulders silver, and frankly, I don't get it. Yes, that's accurate to Bay Prime from the first three movies (I guess I'll have to watch AoE before I see how he looks there), but to me a huge draw of the toy is how G1 the alt mode is. Painting that piece silver means there's a silver patch that should be red behind the front tires. Personally, I'm not painting any bits that show up in alt mode on mine.
  19. I... half agree. I guess. I mean, I get that a G1 toon/Marvel accurate Jetfire isn't something I'd necessarily be into. Although the toy has it's flaws, Classics Jetfire (who was the basis for Jetfire in IDW's Stormbringer series, or vice versa) was a better design that kept elements from both the toon/Marverl version and the VF-1. And the new Leader-class Jetfire that's coming out looks pretty good, too, although I'm not sure how much I'm digging the fake cockpit, or the way most of the jet hangs on his back. But at least toon/Marvel Jetfire has some nostalgia value. Star Saber spacebrick holds no appeal to me at all.
  20. Well... after what seems like years of listening to you guys talk about how crappy Hasbro toys are (even the MPs), and how great third-party is, I bit the bullet and ordered my first 3P toys from Captured Prey. I decided to get Mania King and the Hegemon reissue, to address what I feel are the biggest deficiencies in my Classics display. I'll be sure to let you guys know what I think, but I guess it'll be awhile, since Hegemon's a preorder that isn't supposed to ship until sometime next month.
  21. Yeah, but I wish they were coming out with a physical media copy. I hate how Nintendo ties downloads to hardware instead of your Nintendo Network ID.
  22. PC gamers, rejoice! Today Microsoft released the official Xbox One controller drivers for Windows.
  23. Exactly! Nintendo makes great games. I don't think anyone wants to argue that point. But it's becoming increasingly frustrating that those games are married to underpowered hardware with more gimmicks. Because gimmicks lead to less third-party support, and less third-party support leads to fewer non-Nintendo reasons to buy the hardware in the first place. Honestly, if were Microsoft, I'd have bought Nintendo by now. Great exclusives to sell the Xbox One in the West, use Nintendo's influence and branding to sell Microsoft hardware in Japan.
