  1. well shoot than why did I pay 45 bucks at MW Con 2? haha its ok it all goes to Kevin at Valk Exchange
  2. Haha One of us!!!!! Yes it is damn addicting more so than any other forum I have been to. I've had spurts where I would be hped up about one forum or another but they always run out of steamexcept here. Sometimes There are dead spots here but Im always drawn back in
  3. I think it might be a swap with a Roy focker heat shield or it might be a Head and heat shield swap of a Roy onto a VF-1A Hikaru
  4. Im having Rohby recast the 1/48 fast pack armor clear, past what Yamato is doing. Yamato only offers the following 2x Nosecones 2x Leg covers 2x Booster hatches Im going beyond that by taking apart my fast packs and offering them as the master. Including what yamato has done he will make the arm armor clear, the strike canon, the lower half of the booster as well as the rear calf of the leg armors. I realize there is nothing beneath these parts however I think it looks rather half assed with just what Yamato is making. The picture in the Dengeki hobby looks strange with half the booster clear and half normal. Perhaps if it was a straight split down the middle one whole side clear and one whole side normal then that would be interesting but its not. So if interested please poll. I do not have an estimate on the price. Of course because the pieces are rather large it will increase the price of the mold material. But I estimate a price tag of 30-40 dollars. However this is based on the complexity compared to a Joke machine which is only 50 bucks. Also note that the metal contacts for the boosters will have to be removed from your own fast packs and swapped into the clear set as well as screws and so forth. Please do not expect these to be crystal clear. After careful inspection it appears the yamato versions are jsut the same thing as the regular fast packs produced with clear plastic. Due to the rough finish Yamato gave the Fast packs it is apparent that it will be in the molds and distort the ability of the clear plastic to be completely trasnparent. So will be the same for Rohby's recast. As we know from his wonderful recasts the detail will be there down to the smallest imperfection of the original which will include the dull finish
  5. Not sure if this has been posted before. But www.toysnjoys.com in Hawaii is sellign for 19.95 http://www.toysnjoys.com/macross_artbooks.html
  6. I'd wear one on a motorcycle if it was in the $400-500 range. Probably not the shoulder pads/armor though. I only mentioned that to see if the cost is justified. A nice helmet from Arai costs around 500-600 for their low end models. The top of line versions with air inlets, in helmet mike attachements and etc... cost over $1200 USD so the cost of these helmets would be worth it for limited production item. A snell rating would be cool to have though. Since its for display and cosplay only, the price is too high personally. However, think how much those old stormtrooper helmets and armor cost way back in the days when they were garage kits. For a professionally made item, it is about inline with pricing. As I had said before its mass production versus special orders. Arai make thousands of helmets a year. So mass production is easier. Your initial investement and materials cost is spread thru the amount of helmets you make. Here they probably wont even make more than 100 helmets (yamato I mean)
  7. I know some people who are buying it. Its worth it I think. Think of how rare this piece will be cause not too many can afford it and I think it is done per order. Rather than mass produced they make a small limited amount. I think thats why they did a Mail order so they have an idea of how many to make.
  8. Hey The pictures dont load on the website. Why dont you right click and save them and then attach them to your posts?
  9. Meh 1/48 Im telling you after Soze's prices its only 165 for fast packs and then all it is shipping. I dont think it will cost 40 dollars to Vancouver Canada. I had two 1/60 VF-1A and teh VF-1S and i have to say I was not impressed. There is a little hook thing that keeps the chest plate locked in fighter that snapped off after showing transformation to a friend. No amount of super glue can fix that. I also broke the hinge on the backpack of the 1/48 luckily super glue and Zip kicker are my best modeling friends so in less than two seconds it was fixed. aside from problems of breaking things; bigger is always better. It would be like saying "which should I get the MPC Optimus or the Reissue G1 optimus" well duh obvioulsy you wait patiently another month and you go buy the MPC optimus.
  10. I read somewhere that some people were able to order parts. Im jsut saying why not get the stuff that is fromt he Hilaru 1S like Head, pilot, and heat shiled voila done you know have a 1S!!!
  11. VF-19 pilot- Here is a freat example. Take a look at the people who cherish American Muscle Cars. Then there are those like me who like Japanese cars. There are those who like Euro cars. Who is more righteous? Who is to say that a Ferrari is better looking than a AC Shelby Cobra or a Nissan Skyline GTR? No one does. IT all depends what you like. I mean go with car tuning. Some people are all over big blocks. More displacement more torque=more HP and straight line speed. While Japanese cars are small engines lots of HP efficiency. Which is better? there are arguements for either one and they would be both right. So be more tolerant than by saying "What are you people thinking?"
  12. Damn!!!! I want one!!!!! I especially like the Brass disc with the ring and the Macross Kite. Is that a decal? cause it looks like its colored.
  13. Haha your a little early there Rob. Thats not til Jan 22. Winkle- Nothing compares to the Southern California Fires we had. Seriously though Glad both are over. Happy new Years!!!!!
  14. Hey Kenneth here is mine in Battroid form
  15. Hey I realized wouldnt it be easier to jsut buy a Hikaru 1A and order the heat shield and head formt eh VF-1S version? that way you save 130 bucks.
  16. Here hows this too? oh wait you wanted battroid mode. oh well more eye candy hehe
  17. Hey Sebastian if you see my friend Christian he'll tell you Initial D is not impossible its a reality. Im close to that level while there is a Kid who is 16 years old drifting in the D1 drifiting competitions. I don't think the lack of realism comes from the idea of a kid driving like that, but things like an AE86 beating two RX-7s, and MR2, a Miata, etc. THAT's pretty unrealistic. Not to say it isn't a good car, but it's not at that level. HAve you seen D1 Grand prix? A Trueno kicked everyone's ass even Jerry and his Silivia S13
  18. Comic Kaze- Yeah I would for the US palstic one. They're so cheap that is the one I will do the most mods for and paint jobs. Like new wheels, interior, Maybe that grill idea etc. Exo- Yeah it jsut pops out. Stealthlurker- haha yeah Im not going for Fast and Retarded look so yeah all performance baby!!!!!
  19. Hey Sebastian if you see my friend Christian he'll tell you Initial D is not impossible its a reality. Im close to that level while there is a Kid who is 16 years old drifting in the D1 drifiting competitions.
  20. Yeah Ive seen it about a year and a half ago. maybe even two cant remember. It was right around when I started to watch Initial D. I liked EX Driver. Two girls drive Lancia Stratos and Lotus Elan ( I think its an Elan but its definately a Lotus) Male boy drives Lotus Caterham Super 7. In my opinion a great car. HAd the great chance of test driving one. There is a group here in Socal that sells rather well done kits. It generally weighs around 1000-1200 lbs (depending on carbion fiber option) and can have a motor from 90 hp to 280 hp. I drove one with a 200 hp motor. It was a tuned Ford Zetec motor froma ford focus. They are extremely fast. The 1000 lbs one with a280 hp motor can run 0-60 mph in 3 seconds!!!!! Base price is around $19k I will prolly get one for my midlife crisis. here is a pic of what it looks like
  21. Yes also counting on stuff I used to do in Highschool but dont anymore 27.41617% - Total Geek
  22. Oh I forgot to mention that the hood can close flush like its supposed to with the engine detail inside. here is a pic of scoop flap up so you can see the intercooler
