Well yeah. Kaiyodo 's master sculptor, Yamaguchi, has a talent with figures and placement of joints. They may not be UBER poseable but the amount of poses you can pull off and still look cool is awesomez. Good examples are the Virtua On OT line, the Evangelion line, and of course the award winning Monev The Gale from Trigun. I love the Wolfwood figure too.

Well yeah enuff of the otaku bashing. They're all just people too. The "western otaku" ...gah....don't make me start. Wannabes who don't know the connotation of being one. Areaseven: I've only seen 2 eps so far and I'm liking it. Very stylish and nice blend between cel and CG. Nothing much is revealed yet though. You don't even know who/what/where the hero is/from. He just appears with mysterious girl Yurine (hubba hubba) and pwnz Oni ass.

Otaku-dom is quite a social phenom in japan with a multi billion dollar market. Given all its negative effects, it really is spurring japan's economy and the government cannot neglect this. Otakus are regarded with utmost negativity for their sometimes uncontrollable obsession, anti-social behaviour like staying in room most of the time, and not caring how they look like in public. Its a whole sub-culture and is probably bigger than the goth movement in western countries. And in regards to this thread, they're just doujin (fan-made) characters. Cuter versions ere.

To put it very simply.....you're not in-tune to the japanese doujin scene. This kinda thing is very common and believe me when there is appreciation for such mecha girls. You might find it ....i dunno.....disturbing etc but that's you. To each their own. I don't think they avoid it like the plague but yes they are more conservative with non-otakus and don't go around showing off their nerddom in public. But go to akiba and you tell me that they shy away from a shop selling loli-pr0n. Maybe i'll just call it an "internet phenomenon". That's right. But if Astro train was called ASTRO TRAIN before he landed on earth (most of them were given names based on their transformation when they land on earth i reckon) were there trains in bullet trains cybertron? And can someone explain to me WW Grimlock. I thought he was made on earth.
