  1. They are called "reaction missiles"

Thanks! Looks like the ones I was referring to are the MDE warheads/missiles, didn't realize they were considered "reaction missiles" as well.

Thought I remembered seeing the cannon fodder 171 had equipped these somewhere in the show/movies - but maybe it was only the 171EX that had them?

Some classic reaction missiles would be nice too.

  2. Do you guys normally pay upfront or later? Has anyone had theirs cancelled because they couldn't meet demand if they paid later?

I normally select Pay Later - why pay now when I can do that later? I don't like making payments for stuff when the product isn't ready for delivery, just in case something goes wrong.

I'm hesitant to order from a retailer I'm not familiar with, but you guys seem to trust them, so ok. Ordered. Nice.

NY is good, nothing to worry about. I've ordered a bunch of stuff from them in the past as well. :)

  3. Pre-orders open again at Nippon Yasan, quick!!!

Edit: Oops, guys you guys already know (my browser didn't refresh), thought I'd tell you guys ASAP. LOL Was making the order at NY and posting here on my phone while holding the baby. =P

  4. How did people know that the 171 preorder was last night? I was over in the yf-29 thread keeping an eye cause someone gave a heads up it was going for that preorder.

I didn't know, just woke up in the middle of the night and decided to check the 171 at retail sites. Noticed they were listed and sold out, then came here to check the thread. LOL

  5. Well that's just what you get for being a productive member of society! We're not supposed to have jobs, we're supposed to be fanboys who sit at our computers hitting the refresh icon every 5 seconds.

Even 5 seconds is too long sometimes! :(

  6. Nippon Yasan will most likely open up the order again at a later date at slightly higher prices. HS, AA, HLJ also usually re-opens the order when they confirm their stock availability but that usually is a really small window of opportunity. :(/>

So now it's up to HLJ but I'm not gonna stay up all night or sleep by a computer for the auto alerts anymore, don't know when HLJ will put up the sale for it, with the VF-25G it took them 2 weeks to put up on their site after all the other usual online retailers.

We curse Bandai all the time, but when it comes down to it, we still buy these "valks" when given the opportunity. We can boycott Bandai but they wouldn't care and I doubt it would impact them as a business (their precious Gundams). :P/>

  7. I have a brand new 1/60 Bandai Chogokin DX VF-25G v2 (renewal version) for sale. It was procured from Nippon Yasan when it was $230 (ouch). Looking to sell @ $215 shipped (within North America).

I opened the cardboard cover within the package to check the condition of the Messiah, but it's only a surface check. It's still in the original plastic wrapping and not transformed - I didn't take it out of the foam box.

I'm currently not on the straight shooter's list as I rarely ever sold my Macross collection, the ones I did ended up being local sales. Feedbacks from other sites and eBay available upon request though.

    Will provide pictures later tonight.

Note: I currently have 2 buyers in line, I will go down the list depending on who asks me first - not first pay first serve. I find that causes a lot of confusion and just morally incorrect. lol

  8. Got an extra VF-25G for sale, if anyone's interested, PM me. NIB, but I had opened the cardboard part to take a look to make sure the thing's okay. Was going to put it in the sales section, but was too lazy (and procrastinate too much). Shipping preferably within Canada (or US).

  9. I have not yet received any payment requests. I have been able to place orders for a Cavaliers (currently listed as Backordered) and a VF-1S (currently listed as Discontinued). At this point it'll be short of a miracle if HLJ manages to fill both orders. I placed the order for the VF-1S in the short window when they allowed orders a couple of weeks ago. I get the impression I'm in a waitlist holding pattern in case they get a few more toys.

Btw, what was the price you reserved your Cavaliers for?

I ordered the YF-29S during that window where it was opened, got the payment request about a week after. Paid for it, and it's in the private warehouse now (hopefully). Either way, gotta wait til next week to know as HLJ's on holidays.

I got the Cavaliers when they had the recent sale, I think it was like 40% or 50% off? It was almost like 2 for the price of 1, iirc. I ordered 3, but I contemplated for too long and by the time I went to order them they were in backordered status. When HobbySearch re-opened their orders for the Cavaliers, I picked one up from them and removed one from HLJ so I would have at least one in my collection.

So right now I have 2 Cavaliers on standby from HLJ, hopefully they'll be able to fufill, but I'm not holding my breath. =(

  10. A question for any else who managed to place an order when HLJ listed the toy a second time, then closed it again...what are the chances we will ever see those orders completed? Also, why would HLJ take additional orders if they didn't have the stock available?

Did HLJ ask you for payment yet? I had already paid for mine and it's sitting in the private warehouse, just waiting for a few things before I get them to ship it. But whether they'll tell me it's out of stock when I ask them to ship will be another story. I think another member here had a problem where he had an item sitting in the private warehouse, but it was no longer available when he requested them to ship it. If HLJ's taking stock away from people who keep things in the private warehouse, that's a really bad way of doing business.

But if you ordered when the status was "backordered" but still open, chances of getting the Valk may be pretty slim. My Cavaliers are still in backordered status from the sale they had a couple of months ago. The GBPS armour I had in backorder status from July was canceled a few weeks ago.

  11. So let me get this straight...I preordered the VF-4 when the price was at its original price, so now I have to contact Nippon yassan to have them change it to the new price?

Only if you've already paid for it at the higher price. NY said they will update the price to match the lower one when sending you the invoice for the pre-order. But you can send them a message on the order comment section to update the price ahead of time. They did it for me when the price was $324, I asked them to update it again to the $309 price - probably won't get a reply for a week or two though.

  12. That's what I'm hoping for, having cancelled my N-Y preorder almost a month ago; their quoted EMS charge (their least expensive option) was absurd. HLJ should come in at 50-60% of that for Fed-EX, and if you add their custormer support for Macross related items...

But how much will FedEx brokerage / customs taxes charge you? Dunno about the US, but Canadians get raped by UPS and FedEx all the time on cross border shipments. EMS would be the way to go for us...
