How much does one of those run?
Was around $50 when first released back in 2008 - hard to find one now, even on eBay. Probably runs around $100+ now, might find better deals on Mandarake though. Definitely the best Minmay figure released IMO, just don't like the fact she's kinda small (rated at 1/8 scale, but I think that's being a bit generous).

Didn't expect how big the armor was on the VF-25S - was so used to the VF-1 strike/fast packs. lol

My Tomahawk Destroid review, weathered version. http://www.visualfan...-weathering-ver
Hope it helps.

Nice film strips - wonder what mine will be like. Knowing my luck, it'll be some stupid boring civilian scene. LOL
Ended up getting the scene of Global doing the press conference on the truce. =(
So boring. LOL

Got my shipping notification this morning, DYRL BD here it comes!
Also got shipping notice for the 1/60 DYRL VF-1S and 1A. Ouch, my wallet!

Soooo... we will still get to see Minmay's tits in HD right?
-
Planning on getting 2, but as many others it'll depend on the unit price.

Already order stopped on HLJ (sale price 17000 yen):

***EDIT***
Don't know how as the page was just put up. I guess it could've been available since I had my page checker set at a random interval of 51 seconds.
The same as the VF-25G, just a place holder. =(

Soooo, is there anywhere we can start pre-ordering (outside of Japan) or are we still waiting for confirmation on pricing and for the popular retailers to list them? I don't see this at the usual proxy service sites yet.
-
+1... it's crazy thinking that the complaints and whining on this board about not getting a preorder in, shipping issues, and the like are coming from working adults. But at the same time, I think that's pretty much par for the course on every toy related forum I've seen... lol
We're all young still at heart? lol

I have the 1/1 Yamato DYRL helmet (not the motorcycle one). That thing is huuuuuge, and if it is truly 1/1, I wouldn't want to be riding a bike with it, DOT approved or not. LOL

Any idea if HLJ will be picking up orders for this, since they have exclusives with Yamato and all...
-
Man, that sucks. It's stuff like this that has forced me to go with HLJ for any future Macross toy purchases. So many things can go wrong and only HLJ will support their customers (as far as I know. Feel free to correct me with additional vendors that will support their customers to the level that HLJ does, like sending you replacement parts and not forcing you to mail back the whole toy at your expense. The more choices we have, the better). AmiAmi has super prices, but you're screwed if you have anything wrong with the toy, even right out of the box.
The problem is sourcing replacement products or parts, a lot of the places couldn't even fill all the pre-orders. These aren't Yamato Valks we're talking about (darn you Bandai, darn you)!

By last night they were sold out. I managed to get one in at Hobby Search and now theyre sold out as well.
HLJ probably still has them, if their site is working properly. LOL Same thing happened with the previous Bandai Ranka and Sheryl "valkyrie" editions. Pre-orders sold out fast, but come release day, they have an abundent in stock. Hell, they're already showing up in the bargin bin and HLJ sale recently. LOL
Still, I had pre-ordered the new Sheryl from AmiAmi, <3 Sheryl!

Just got my payment request e-mail from HLJ for the 171EX.

Picked up another Tomohawk and Defender destroids... wanted to get another Milia VF-22S just cuz of the amazing discount but logic slightly kicked in, so I passed on that. LOL
-
Is the hikaru vf-1a in the sale safe?
Doubt it, old v2 version, I picked one up during a previous sale. But I got the replacement shoulder hinges here, so no fear! =)
-
Might be that the white/plastic on the older Valk started to yellow?
-
I wonder if Yamato will release a CF teal VF-17, I'd get that over the Diamond Force, since that means I won't have to get 3 to complete the set. LOL
-
So is it really this shade of blue
Hope so, looks amazing in the photos - though I never understood why they're called Emerald force yet there's no hint of green in their colour scheme.
-
I wish HLJ's price was closer to AmiAmi and Hobby Search, but I guess that's the price to pay for peace of mind if something goes wrong with these releases. Has anyone ever had experience with AmiAmi or Hobby Search's customer service? Are they as good as HLJ when it comes to replacement parts or item exchange?
HS and AA are great, never had to replace anything though, but canceling quantities or existing orders aren't as easy as HLJ. You shouldn't have any problems with their service, I've been ordering all my recent valks from their due to the better pricing - every little bit helps!

Yamato's figures look larger then Bandai's. Thank you in advance for the information.
Simple, that's because Macross SDF/DYRL characters are taller in 1/1 scale than those in Frontier. Have you seen the size of the 1/1 replica of the DYRL helmet?
All joke aside, it depends on the scale of the source, for example:
VF-1A Fighter Mode: wingspan 14.78 (fully extended); height 3.84 meters; length 14.23 meters
VF-25F Fighter Mode: wingspan 15.5 (fully extended); height 4.03 meters; length 18.72 meters.
So in 1/60 scale, they'd be different in size. But even so, manufacturer scaling on toys and figures are an enigma and doesn't always make sense. Just enjoy the toys as they are!

Dunno about you US guys, but we usually get raped by custom fees and brokerage fees coming in to Canada. Hell, just now UPS dropped off my Shapeways shoulder hinges with a brokerage fee of $14.35 on items valued at $25. F-U UPS.
Very rarely do I ever get charged by EMS / Canada Post.
