  1. AmiAmi had the best price for the 17D w/super packs. It was 22625yen compared to the 21100yen for just the 17D. It was almost like getting the super packs for free. Picked up two to complete Diamond Force, didn't really like the 17's (nor their pricing) but ended up getting them for collective purposes and lineage to the 171.

Plus with Yamato stepping down, who knows what'll happen with their 1/60 line.

  2. Back to topic; Nippon Yasan always impresses me with how many orders they manage to entertain. My guess is they will come back again with the same price for another round of preorder, and after that, the price will increase again.

Yeah, the question is when. I have a feeling it's going to re-open the next window when I'm asleep. LOL

  3. I hope you got it for free when there's pretty much an all around awesome 1/60 VF-11B/C usually available in most stores.

I got it over a decade ago when Yamato first released them. 1/60s didn't exist back then. :(

Phalanix - the V1 are known to have notoriously weak hips:

It looks like poop in battroid mode anyway, and the legs are a pain to pose.

Yep, oh well, got the 1/60s B and C so it doesn't really matter anymore. LOL

  4. If they designed Luca's Messiah in a better colour and not pastel green, maybe more people would like it? :D I've always loved the VE-1 and that dish up top, I also like the RVF design as it's unique. The colour, on the otherhand...

  5. HobbyFan has been pretty good with fulfilling orders from my experience, but that's mostly from exclusive anime figures. When it comes to these Bandai Valks, it's a little hard to determine as in the past they haven't been able to fulfil the renewals and YF-29 due to shortages from their supplier(s). So with these renewals, it's still best to go through the Japanese vendors. HobbyFan just receives their items usually at a later date as they get their shipments by boat (I think).

If you checkout with a credit card they won't charge you until the item is ready to be shipped.

    Edit: stupid iPhone typos.

  6. In case folks here are still interested, Flightpose has a new set of preorders going up.

Despite fears after seeing what happened here, I decided to take the plunge and pick up 1 set of 3 sizes to use for taking pics ..

Probably will avoid long term posing as I'd wanna avoid the problems you guys faced (I would really love me some proper stands for long term posing).

Shipment is expected to be in April apparently.

I think the problem is that the owner (or whoever was affiliated with Flighhtpose) used to post here, then when people brought up the issue of paint damage he just disappeared. I think he tried to look into it at first but when more reports surfaced he started to ignore us and basically said nothing was wrong and left. That was what I remembered anyway, someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

  7. Didn't NY open up more preorders (at the higher price) very quickly after the initial preorder for previous bandai releases? Just thought it was strange that the higher price preorder hasn't happend yet.

    Chris

For the VF-171CF they didn't re-open pre orders till the next day or day after, since it's the weekend, we probably won't see NY re-opening the pre-order till Monday I'm guessing. But just in case, I'm gonna keep an eye on them tonight. LOL

There's still HLJ, something to keep watch for as well. :)

  8. The retailers open up pre-orders periodically when they confirm more incoming stock, but the randomness is very hard to catch.

And yes, I was referring to getting mine from NY when they re-open their pre-orders (at a slight premium), it's better than the eBay price gouging. Plus, no sleepless nights trying to catch a pre-order window that might or might not happen.
