Sure I watched Astro Boy, Speed Racer and Starblazers (Yamato) as a kid in the 70s, but it was really Macross/Robotech/Dyrl in '85 that really introduced me to anime. I think there are plenty of other great anime titles like Akira, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Evangelion and so on. However none of them had the influence on my life like Macross had and so, to me, none of them will ever compare to Macross. I can certainly tell you that a lot of my friends feel the same way.

I'm on the west coast and have already seen it. For some reason SciFi on Charter Cable shows it at 7pm and then again at 10pm (or 10:30pm in tonights case). I'm with you guys, I have no idea where this series is going but it sure is one hell of a ride.

Nope, those are just silver colored wires found in braid for coaxial cable which is a great source for thin wires by the way. A 2 foot piece of RG6 quad shield coax cable will last you for years. I do have some even thinner wire, meant for wrapping transformers. I plan on using some of that was well. I know *exactly* what you mean. I have quite an impressive stash, I'll never be able to build them all (mostly WW2 aircraft), so what did I do last week? I brought home a VF-0S kit. I explained to the Mrs. that my local hobby shop (Best One Hobby in Alhambra) will no longer be carrying Hasegawa's Macross series so I needed to get it while I could. She was less than happy about it.

My wife is Chinese and she doesn't know much about Macross related stuff. Its kind of funny though, when I have a picture of a battroid on my monitor she points and exclaims "Oh, Gundam!". I patiently explain "No honey, its not Gundam". I laugh every time.
