Yeah and the desktop pc quality cgi wasn't helping either.

Whoh, that's a yamato kit. Where did that build up come from?
-
Are the recasts macross plus pilots or dyrl?
-
Hah, I actually have my Yamato YF-19 with Alto's wing super packs mounted. They...sorta stay on...

I love how this thread is basically 3 pages of people going "YEAAHHHH!"
That said, YEAAAH!!!!

Real nice. I'd buy one as well if it were sold with that scheme.

i wonder if cheap ikea particle board cabinets are better or worse lol. don't have any yamato valks in those but have a some TFs (none of them white though) in one of those....
Raw cheap particle board is bad, but I think that sealed stuff is *better*. I mean, plastic has what's caused an "inherent vice" anyway, so it's not going to last forever no matter what you do. How long it lasts and how it degrades depends on the types of plastics used, but yeah, you shouldn't expect it to look new in box perfect in 80 years.

Adhesives used when constructing wood storage units will frequently exhibit acidic off-gassing, which would interact negatively with the plastics and anything else you have in there.

Who is that at the 2:40 mark, Roy Campbell?

Even knowing that it's not Hayter, I found myself not really minding. I think it'll be good. Will definitely buy it when it comes out.
-
Have you checked to make sure it's not stuck sitting in customs?

The aircraft numbers for the A and S models are different.

Whaaaaatt?

It doesn't count if you keep it in a nitrogen filled chamber!

I have a bunch of V1s myself, they're all in pretty good shape as far as I can tell (cannon fodder's included). It could be a combination of any number of variables, storage conditions, light, inherent nature of the plastic used in that batch.
Plastic isn't made to last anyhow, so I'd imagine a lot of us will be complaining about disintegrating valks in 2040 regardless

Agreed.

Personally, I'm fine with plug in hands. The 80% solution is still better than the crumbling Toynami hands.

There are a lot of display and airshow aircraft around the U.S. that are painted to look like a specific aircraft, but aren't in fact the actual aircraft (one of the airshow B-17 Memphis Belle's is an example). Hikaru's VF-1A is likely no different...it's painted to look like and commemorate a famous VF1 pilot's aircraft.

Quick question. I don't own a Yamato Kakizaki DYRL.
Does the pilot figure come with green or bluish accent on the helmet?
Do you mean the 1/60 or the 1/48 DYRL Kaki? I recall the overall green shade on the 1/48 is a bit brighter/lighter than the 1/60, but I don't own the 1/48 so I can't comment on the figure's helmet. I have the 1/60 dyrl kaki valk, and his helmet is green.

It's just a cannon fodder 1J. You see it in SDFM right after Hikaru joins the military (like a man) and there a quick glimpse of it during the training montage. So you have to get one if you want every valk Hikaru has ever flown.
My question is, is the pilot that comes with the toy Hikaru or a CF?
The figure that comes with the CF VF1J is a green CF pilot.

Oh nice Kicker! I still have the McFarlane toys Kaneda and bike on my shelf.
-
He prob just meant a repaint to fix the battle damage.
-
I don't know if it's "valk desperation" or what, but every time I take another look at it I think, "well, it's actually not that bad".
-
Oh man, I think a massive bubble just burst.
