  1. i wonder if cheap ikea particle board cabinets are better or worse lol. don't have any yamato valks in those but have a some TFs (none of them white though) in one of those....

Raw cheap particle board is bad, but I think that sealed stuff is *better*. I mean, plastic has what's caused an "inherent vice" anyway, so it's not going to last forever no matter what you do. How long it lasts and how it degrades depends on the types of plastics used, but yeah, you shouldn't expect it to look new in box perfect in 80 years.

  2. Adhesives used when constructing wood storage units will frequently exhibit acidic off-gassing, which would interact negatively with the plastics and anything else you have in there.

  3. I have a bunch of V1s myself, they're all in pretty good shape as far as I can tell (cannon fodder's included). It could be a combination of any number of variables, storage conditions, light, inherent nature of the plastic used in that batch.

Plastic isn't made to last anyhow, so I'd imagine a lot of us will be complaining about disintegrating valks in 2040 regardless :)

  4. Quick question. I don't own a Yamato Kakizaki DYRL.

Does the pilot figure come with green or bluish accent on the helmet?

Do you mean the 1/60 or the 1/48 DYRL Kaki? I recall the overall green shade on the 1/48 is a bit brighter/lighter than the 1/60, but I don't own the 1/48 so I can't comment on the figure's helmet. I have the 1/60 dyrl kaki valk, and his helmet is green.

  5. It's just a cannon fodder 1J. You see it in SDFM right after Hikaru joins the military (like a man) and there a quick glimpse of it during the training montage. So you have to get one if you want every valk Hikaru has ever flown.

My question is, is the pilot that comes with the toy Hikaru or a CF?

The figure that comes with the CF VF1J is a green CF pilot.
