  1. Hey, quick question:

I don't usually collect Frontier stuff, so I'm not so knowledgeable about the renewals. I recently picked up the VF-25A Cannon Fodder and was looking to throw some super parts on it just for fun. I saw some cheap, used, super parts at the store.

Did Bandai make different super parts for both the original VF-25s and the renewals, or are the super parts the same/fit compatible for both? I'm betting these are the original super parts based on the copyright date (2007), so I wanted to double check.

  2. No, because the "grabbers" are too far to the front (as is the actual attachment point), and they have no grip anyway. The problem is that the die-cast content is all concentrated towards the rear of the plane -- legs, knee-joints, shoulder-joints, back-thruster... it makes everything in that area heavy and so the center of gravity is probably between the knees or somewhere thereabouts. Placing the stand attachment near the neck of the plane makes no sense at all...

I've used the "grabbers" on the yamato launch arm stand to prop up my YF-19 in fighter mode. Basically, you have to tuck the "grabbers" underneath the rear end of the aircraft, so they're actually supporting the aft part of the fuselage. It looks...not great...but it's worked on my YF-19 with fast packs and fold booster mounted.

  3. Mostly I'm asking because some people are talking like these toys are faulty and will immediately turn yellow within a year when I've had many all white toys (not just Valks) that have been going strong for ten years now. I suppose the Valks proper have been on for about four and show no signs of changing color. I mean, it took fifteen years but my SNES isn't the original color it used to be anymore so it's not like much darker plastics can't go bad either.

    This.
