  1. On a separate note; I think the large cover, when unfolded, can double as a poster..am thinking will leave the book without it as not to crumple the cover, and also the copy on the actual book looks more stylised as an art book…IMG_0249.jpeg.e12a5133a6a5303a452a1b1eba431778.jpeg

    Nope

At the price...the Deculture version also should have used fold-outs instead of the awful two page spreads...

Even Macross Chronicle used fold-outs...incidentally, much of the art from this book can be found in the issues of the Macross Chronicle...as fold-outs!..

Still...I think there are some HMR illustrations and Hasegawa boxart that are well printed as single pages....so if you think bigger is better....the book could be worth the extra expense...

Yes was about to say they missed the mark by not including foldouts. Maybe there will be another poster book version🤪

The single panel HMR art pages certainly made me return to them quite often..nice fit on the pages..additionally I think there were tamashii event illustrations which were not on the box? I can’t remember the individual box arts after so many HMRs…case in point..IMG_0260.jpeg.866c9bc91198e5a0020ffa3b4d5453ca.jpeg

I guess Kakizaki looking like Max is Tenjin's way of being consistent with the actual pilot figures in the toy.

I like the way you think Like bandai  😅

OMG this is just perfect LOL

heheh there are a few more in the book, but yeah this one got me 🤭🤭

but its not a bad book in any sense...the B3 size really does help to pick out/admire the details/beautiful illustrations..😄

Yikes Amazon JP shipping stuff in paper bags now?! Such a pity.. they were for longest time still using carton boxes when other Amazons have stopped, even if the boxes were little better than tissue boxes.

@seti88 Now we know how Max's 1A upcoming HMR box art look like. But I feel Tenjin just kinda mirror flipped Kakizaki's box art and swapped the color palette.

LOL now you mentioned it, yes that would be Max's HMR boxart. Nice catch! :yahoo:

With HMR Kaki's boxart included a Max1A in the background, I guessed HMR max cover would look similar somehow.

edit: so similiar, kakizaki looks like max in cockpit of the HMR kaki illustation

Like what you said...2 valks in 1 shot eh, tenjin-san! 🤭

On the packaging...maybe i will return to CDJ for better delivery protection...esp for heavy books...magazines, maybe amazon can still suffice..

  5. lol mine came in a paper bag as well…first time I had something delivered this way…tiny cardboard sheet was the only ‘protection’ and is smaller than the book..

no wrapping on the book either.. 🤪 :unknw:

only a tiny little scrape on the big west cover insert but other than that is unscathed..it looked to be delivered by a local personal courier so perhaps lucky in that sense somewhat ..

from a quick glance: paper stock feels nice..not too glossy..

photos and colors are on point…found the latest HMR photos included ..

only annoyances are the large spreads across 2 pages break the aesthetics of the photos, especially if some cut across important areas..IMG_0244.jpeg.519c176b3c93dff13992c3471af9fcf5.jpeg

  6. 1) "The key point in reproducing the deformation of "YF-21" with DX Chogokin was the problem of balancing proportions in fighter and battroid forms. A thin and beautiful fighter form reminiscent of the actual YF-23. On the other hand, the long legs and high waist proportions are reminiscent of ``Quadran Ro''. A massive battroid form that looks like it has been condensed into the upper body. The most important issue was how to fit these long legs into a fighter form. The solution was to rotate the ankle and shorten the length of the leg itself."

Yeah..but that seam line running in lower half...compared to the rest of the leg...🤨

    2) Still cant see how the limbs would come off for delimited mode...

    - The black square under the fuselage seems to be some locking mechanism perhaps...

Thanks for the share!  I wasn't familiar with the ventral belly plate and was trying to visualize it fitting on the plane's dorsal surface.  That's badass.

    This DX is a parts-former! :fool::rofl:

    Pre-Order Ca.....:spiteful:

Still would like to see if the limbs and legs are separate from each other, or are still attached to a common plate for ease of removal/reattachment when substituting with the delimited belly plate part..

On the length of the nose/fuselage from intakes on, wide lens shot or not, to me it does look a bit shorter/ less stubby? than previous prototype.

Although this makes battroid mode to look fitter and will make legs look to sit less further up.

For me, fighter is not as stylish as the yamato forward looking wise, however bandai's design is not bad either.

Tampo will as usual, save the day. 🤣😅

     NETFC ftw! 🤣🤣 .......i kid....

That was my thinking as well. A "Full Set Pack" of the YF-21 would consist of only... what, the FAST Packs and Fold Booster? Maybe a similar fold barrier punch effect?

I was always under the impression that the YF-19's extra ordinance is only due to that one artwork of it all laid out being so iconic. The YF-21 doesn't have such a depiction IIRC.

That said, I do think a DX should include at least the FAST Pack by default. Especially on these two prototype VFs, the "Super" parts are so minimal as to be a foregone conclusion. It was actually really disappointing to see the YF-19 WWM release be SO stingy by not including them.

Sums up a more likely 21 DX release scenario...

Since the DX YF-21 has now been legitimately announced and after all those embellished teases, what does everyone think that it will be packed with?

    (1) Fold Booster, a plethora of missiles, Fast Packs

Can’t remember, but does the 21 even load different types of missiles in the ova/movie?

i dont expect a similar full pack like the 19 just because the 19 had way more load out configurations (plus an arm cannon) than the 21.
