Last time I did an old Imai Macross kit, Bandai came out with the Hi Metal R Monster like a month later..

Let's see if I can get that situation to happen again... LOL!... Prepare the putty and the sanding tools!

looking forward to see what you come up with...

are you gonna make some changes?

  2. update!

    made structural reinforcement!

they where broken inside when i opened them up... former owner had tried to turn them the wrong way.

  4. i resently aquired this 1/3000 SDF-1 Bandai toy without carriers

from Ebay for a resonable price.

i intent on renewing it and upgrade it

its already in a pretty good condition..

so ill correct some of the shapes on the toy

such as main gun size and lenght and shape.

    Bridge.

and ofcause make two new carriers!

Just finished my holidays work: Old Bandai kit VF-2SS Valkyrie II Nexx with SAP - the original kit of the 90's, not the reissue. Parts were all still in good condition, only the water slide decals are a bit yellowed and tend to break. but I kept them as it is a "vintage" kit. As for the painting details I tried to give it the look of the HMR VF-2SS.

I really love how the Valk looks in Battroid mode. But in Fighter mode the well known inaccuracy of this kit in comparison to the Anime line art is obvious.  The body is far too small in comparison to the SAP parts and all in all it is too bulky. Further, with the HMR VF-2SS aside the deviation of size is extremely visible. So this one will stay in Battroid mode forever! :spiteful:

    looks great... nice finish..

made one myself and was not satisfied with the scale of the various parts... so made some changes..

Mocked up the backpack using Hasegawa’s 1/72 proportions (very roughly).

I need to work on the taper for the top surface.

    Compared to this:

not even Hasegawa are consistent in they're backpacks...

this 1/20 model takes alot from the 1/48 Hasegawa kits..

you new backpack looks good, however im actually more partial to the original kit backpack..

that said, im gonna display the kit with FAST pack so wont se much backpack anyway..

I was backwards (like lots of things):p I kept seeing the Robotech kits in stores and finally bought one. After building two of almost every aircraft kit, a Valkyrie was new and awesome!!! And it transformed, it just didn't sit there on my shelf! One day we didn't have Track so I got home early after school and turned on TV to see the first episode of Robotech. OK, so the series got messed up in the U.S, it was still so COOL! I learned how to program my VCR (remember those) and set it with brand new high quality tapes to record. Wish I still had them just for the commercials!;) - MT

    yeah i remember those vcr's ..

also my first model kit was a F-14A Tomcat and i painted it as Roys VF-1S

Interesting. But I suspect you had Nadia on TV. Correct or no?

Nadia i do not think we had..

but could probably be rented in a videostore or gas stations back then.

like others such as Sandybel, Starzinger, Nausicaä ect ect.

but it was first in the late 90's or very early 2000's that i found out the shows where actually Japanese.

So how many Macross fans are there in Denmark?

well not many... most anime sci-fi fan will probably nod if you ask about Robotech..

but i seriously doubt anyone would know Macross and definetly not the new shows like Frontier or Delta.

i personally only know of two others who knows about Macross.

like so many others around the world i was introduced to Macross through Robotech back in the 80's

and later when the internet started to be something every household had i started looking for Robotech art, and in doing so

learned that Robotech was not the actual show, but a bastard version of Macross.

which led me to finding my first anime downloads...

things have then spiraled out since then;)
