    Storing Toys

I do suggest that you keep them in a place where temperature will not be so too extreme, as all plastics may become crispy or yellow due to the heat. And if you have them on display it would be better if you rotate them once in a while and avoid direct sunlight or other light source with a lot of UV.
  2. Oh by the way remember to turn the knee sideway when you bend the upper leg forward or the edge of the knee cap can be damaged
  3. Honestly I don't like the story of Macross Seven and I don't like the "face" of VF-19 Custom, but I am very much enjoying this piece of toy/model/figure...whatever you may call it. There are compromises like the non-removable intake covers and the neck cover, but generally it is very good, the Batroid mode can be posed just like any non-transformable figure. I also prefer the design of YF-19 and also think that A remake of YF-19 base on this structure is definitely good but think about it, we have the old 1/60 (which is already the second version) and though it is not as good as this one structurally but it is still a fine transformable figure, right? For those who love the VF-19 custom, VF-19S and VF-19F, they had their dream come true only now. regardless of all real odds like the VF and the YF only share very few common parts, even for the love of the fans, I think a VF-19S or 19F should come before a remake of YF-19. And it also make more sense business-wise.

    GN-U DOU

If you happened to find some at really cheap prices, get as many as you can, although they can not transform they are still very fun-to-play-with action figures with good quality materials. They are made of ABS instead of PVC like revoltech, and the paint jobs are excellent. and more they can be taken apart easily so it makes customizing very easy. here are some pictures of my customized GN-U Dou I post before: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=34087&st=0&p=879436&fromsearch=1entry879436
  5. see if this help, it's only in Japanese though http://www.yamato-toys.com/blog/index.php?logid=279
  6. Those are only repackaging of the same old 1/48 Valks. stickers needed still.
  7. What I heard from a store owner is that the 1/48 2.0 is now under consideration and is quite possible. price-wise I don't thing it would be cheap but it should not be as crazy as the SDF-1 either as the design would be used in many variations and thus reduse its cost.
  8. The box of the new M+ YF-19 features a side/front view photo of the plane, and the box has no flap nor window.
  9. I just put on some putty on the original head and carve them, I tried epoxy putty but it dosen't work, so I mix some baby powder with aron alpha and put them on, it harden in 3 minutes so you can start working immediately. If you look closely their "cheek" are too "chubby" and are not exectly even.
  10. Any chance for the Max & Milia VF-1J to be reissue soon? Thanks
  11. Great Custom works. did you paint them? any picture of Gerwalk and Batroid?
  12. I played with every one of my valks and break none of them, (except the Hikaru 1-A which had a broken shulder flap out of the box) just handle them carefully when transforming and you can have fun with them for a long time. I keep all the boxes and put the figures back into the boxes after playing with them. I even keep the boxes for my GNU Dou and Revoltech.
  13. I would say Galaxy is a safe bet because prices are usully pretty ok, the only thing is that it opens after 7:30, It's on the 1st floor of In's Point, and facing the escalator to the 2nd floor. Exit Yao Ma Tei MTR station at Exit A (Pitt Street), then turn around nd get to Nathen Road, Then turn left, walk to the end of the block and it's the entrance of In's point. Walking around in CTMA could be a terrible experience for someone who don't really enjoy toy shopping. it's not like going to Toy's R Us. Be careful with DYRL Super VF-1A Hikaru, the current stock selling in Hong Kong very possibly have broken shoulder joint. At the moment I would say the new TV VF-1S is the best as it also have the redesigned pelvic joint which is easy to transform. no aurora effect on the canopy though.
  14. I'd say open all, play with them and get all the fun out of them. That's what I do with my toys.
  15. My YF-19 collection. I think all four colour schemes are good, the original YF-19 is a re-release with new base colour.
  16. The visor was just decorated with aurora sticker. I actually modified the waist and the back so the it can do a more natural A-stance and can do a bit of a "crotch thrust". I also cut a bit off the chin so the head can "look downward".
  17. I painted it, the original Kakizaki is a on-line shop limited edition and I could not get it. I use the Max 1A and just paint everyting blue to a sand colour. it would be better to sand down the "U.N.SPACY" decal on the side of the calves or they will pop up after painting
  18. I use spraypaint : both hobby spray apint (Tamiya and Gunze) and Pylox, the material of GNU Dou is ABS so I suppose it's ok with pylox, but it is always good to test before you spray. one thing to mind is that with light colour, as you may have to apply more layers it's better to do with primer and then hobby spray paint. (you can see from the photo that the white on the 19s are too thick, and I should have used insignia white ) I would say the YF-19 colour schemes are difficult to do as it takes a lot of masking (except for the 25th Ann. version which is all black with gold rims). I tried to hand paint the DN and BoP and it turned out a mess. I find the VF-1 variations the easiest -- maybe because I did not do the Max and Milia 1J Overall It was very satisfying as they are easy to dismental and reassemble.
  19. Here comes two clear pics:
  20. I got a bunch of the GNU Dou Valks and repainted a few of them. It was a lot of fun. About the original price I also think it is a bit too high but at the same time the quality in material and paint jobs are really good. If Robot-Tamashi are selling at about the same price I would say GNU Dous are much better in quality. I think if Yamato mark down the price for 30%, stick with the Valks in the line, or at least have one valk (even variations) vs one super robot, the series would have last longer.
