I finally got one of the Scott Bernard Alpha Fighters... Here's the deal with the one that I got. No Paint issues, nothing broken or damaged. The toy is in good shape and I really like it. As most people have pointed out it looks good in all modes. A few little nit picky things about this toy is that he is a little floppy at the knees, one of the little tabs that attach the wings to the nose of the plane doesn't fit perfectly and comes out, and the arms didn't sit flush onto the body of the plane in fighter mode (mayby when I transform it back to fighter mode I can transform it correctly so they do). Overall the toy is satisfying and I am very happy with my purchase. It really is a fine toy.

My brother is in the media and we got passes to a prescreening of this movie. I liked the film. Visually it is stunnung. The folks really put a lot of effort into this movie to give it the retro look and feel. Visually it looks like old black and white films that have been colorized. The plot is slightly weak but the clever script and the giant robots and cool planes with special abilities that I won't tell you about (don't want to spoil it for you) are awesome. Angelina Jolie is actually GREAT in this movie. In the scenes she is in she kicks butt and takes names! For those of you that like asian girls there is one in the move that will catch your eye. I give the move a 7.5 out of 10 It is a lot of fun and the ending was a funny suprise. Go check it out. You will most likely enjoy it.

I live in Atlanta and would definately enjoy getting together and talking macross. I am not sure which day I am going. Let's see who else wants to meet up and we can go from there.

I see both positive and negative reviews on this toy. Both points of view are valid. Can we all agree that what we want are better quality toys from Toynami going forward? (The correct answer is yes) Since Toynami is the only company that has touched this license in decades it is unlikely that we will get any mospeada toys from another source. It seems that our best bet is to constructively communicate the problems to Toynami. If we do this then there is a good chance that in future runs the problems will be resolved, and if the problems are resolved and Toynami sells more Alphas we may get a Beta fighter. If we are smart about this then we have a better chance of getting what we want. And isn't getting what we want what we all want?

Someone said because Stiq slowed down. There is also the question of whether or not the other ships where entering the atmosphere at the correct angle. Come in too steep, you burn up, come in too shallow, you skip off the atmosphere and back into space. The amount of damage done to the ships were also probably a consideration. Remember, damage to its heat shielding is what caused the Columbia to burn up during re-entry. Sticks Legioss did not burn up in the atmosphere because he went into gaurdian mode and slowed himself down. The Capital ships were going too fast and could not retro rocket or slow themselves down enough, so they burned up similar to challenger. In the anime you see the capital ships going past the legioss at a higher rate of speed and Stick is telling them to slow down.

I hope these toys rule so they will make the Tread. Waiting sucks. At least we have Kevin keeping us posted.

It is soooo hard to wait for this toy to come out! I paid over $300 US for a MIB Gakken Alpha Fighter which is nowhere close to the anime accuracy of this toy. I very much like my MPC Valkrie which I paid $60 for. I like the diecast content and the flat paint job. This toy will rule. Mark my words. It will rule.

I am not clear if there is one transforming kit... Or are there two kits? (One that is robot mode and one motorcycle mode.) Please help.

It had less to do with the F-4 and more to do with the training regiment of pilots in the late 1950's and early 1960's. There was a point where ACM training was completly outlawed. F-4 pilots were taught how to engage incoming Soviet Bombers with in a BVR enviroment, F-105 pilots were taght to deliver nuclear weapons at low-level into Europe. (See a trend) This is why TOPGUN and the USAF Fighetr Weapons School were developed to reteach air combat. There was also a real bad habit of the USAF of taking anyone with wings and rotating them into fighters with minimal transition training. The capablities of an aircraft are important, but the training and the abilities of the pilot are more important. i agree but robomatt was trying to make it seem that jsut because we got F-22 and JSF coming, he thinks that air supremacy will be ours, thats why i brouight up the phantom, i was the best at the time bnut it didnt mean we would win/ Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 I agree with you. Having a superior technology does not always gaurantee vctory. Superior technology combined with Sheer numbers and volumes of resources are what wins the day in long drawn out conflicts. Of course the vietnam war was lost or not finished due to political reasons. One does not win a war that one quits.

Yes, it was Scott himself. I sent him an e-mail complementing the coverage and he responded with thanks. I have dreamed of going to some of these cool Japanese toy shows. So it was very cool that Scott and his team showed how they used the local train to get to the convention center and then the building it was in, and then an overview of the room/s the show was being held. And then of course a play by play of the toys. They did such a good job that you feel like you are there. One day soon I will travel to Japan and kick it around for a few weeks. To all of you guys that have the privelage of toy shopping in Hong Kong and Japan I just want you to know that you have got it very good and you should be very thankful. I am probably Idealizing Japan. Right?

Most of this dicussion is moot. Why do I say that? The F-22 Raptor is being delivered and more will continue to be delivered. That fact alone would assure US air superiority. Then you consider that the Joint Strike Fighter will come on the scene soon and that gives the US and our allies a great advantage. No country...Including Israel... can touch the US in Air Superiority. Even if they could temporarily we would cut off thier supply of parts..so thier planes would be useless anyway. Or in worste case scenario use our Nuclear capabilities. The US is the only superpower in the history of the world that has used it's power MOSTLY for good and hasn't tried to make all smaller weaker countries part of it's empire. Considering our military strength and capabilities...I think the US uses a great deal of patience and restraint. We are not perfect mind you...very clearly no country is perfect. But we try to use our power for good and the American people are for the most part good people. Americans for the most part would benefit from learning about other cultures (like Japan). I think we are too focused on what we are doing in the US and don't have many interests past that. There are so many honorable fascinating cultures to learn about and appreciate. Congratulations Graham! The old cliches like...your life will never be the same, are mostly true. If you don't get much sleep in the next couple of months don't worry...the baby will sleep through the night very soon. Babys are good for teaching daddies patience. They are also a lot of work. But it is not too much like work cause you love em so much. OK..speach over... Isn't the birth of a child a miracle? Wow!

The toy looks incredible. what if they make a Beta? Even if the alpha is six or seven inches tall in Battloid mode... the beta would be much taller, and bigger. The combined fighter mode would be absolutely huge and awesome. I know I am getting my hopes up.

This toy will be the bomb. If and when Yamato releases it. Why can't Bandai release toys that are this cool? They seem to pound out toys much quicker than Yamato. I am still a little miffed that they won't communicate with Graham anymore. It is frustrating to look at cool toys that we have little or no idea if they will ever go into production. I am still thankful that someone is making these toys. A little competition would speed up the process ang give us more selection. I hope this toy comes out in the future.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia USA The weather is warm down here in Atlanta and very beautiful during Spring and Fall. Atlanta is very cosmopolitan and international and was host to the 1996 Olympics. Stores selling Macross items are somewhat rare but they can be found here. I buy mostly from Online stores and EBAY. Crap!!! They ran out! I am sure there is another site on the web that has one. Since they are dicontinued it is a goog idea to buy one now. I thought Melissa would have one of these kits by now since she is the almighty owner of all that is cool in the world. Well, I don't feel so bad now. I suggest doing a Google search.

I am not Donald Trump or anything but have been in the business world for a while... 1. Tanmen has not fullfilled the products he has received money for. 2. It has been months since he missed multiple deadlines. 3. Since he has ran out of reasonable excuses that are beleivable he is now resorting to unreasonable excuses...as if US policy has anything to do with him fullfilling his obligations. What a joke! Based on Tanmen's response that "we can't sue him" (basically he has told us to go screw ourselves) many of the suggestion that have been given would be very appropriate. For those that paid I think they should get as many recasts as is possible to make so they can display the model in all three modes. Recasting is the best alternative because since you have paid for the model and that part is taken care of you can now take Tanmen out of the entire matter and go on getting the model through a recast. People like this frustrate the crap out of me. ChristopherB was right. He has no honor. It's a shame because he is so talented and makes such good models.

A red VA-3...COOOL!! Thanks for all the information. I had never noticed that the legs on the battroid are not as humanoid looking as the fighters. I have not bought this kit yet. But I will have it as soon. I hope my modeling skills are up to the task. I have put together a couple of perfect grade Gundam models so my modeling skills are ok...I have never worked with resin, drilled holes in the material, or used putty to fill in little problem areas. Completing the kit would be fun if I don't mess it up. I cannot express how much I love the design of this kit. ChristopherB, Please by all means share your building experience with us once you get the kit. Maybe you can do a review for us. I geuss no one has done a review of this kit in English.. I am sure that someone here would know if there was one out there.

Throw me a frikkin bone!!! I guess everybody else is in the same boat as I am and hesitates to spend so much money on a kit that really takes alot of skill and work (and paint). Doesn't anyone that comes to this site have the kit?

Another show came along called Silverhawks that I initially thought iws cool till they had a character that had a cowbay hat and sang country music. What a dumb idea. I thought GI Joe totally sucked.

Does anyone have one of these kits? Any pictures of the completed model (other than a picture from the SHE website)? I love that this kit looks so different from the typical VF1 fighters. This is the Studio Half Eye kit by the way... Is there a review of it on the web? This kit is cool!
