Wow, yeah!
That stuff should have definitely been the highlight of the book itself. -
I didn't get the bonus stuff, what all was offered as far as bonuses If I may ask?

I might be spouting sacrilege, but I don't think Mikimoto ever matured with his digital artwork.
His earlier marker and watercolor pieces make his current work look like he is the apprentice taking over from an earlier artist.
My opinion only....
And just to illustrate I am not just the old man raving about the good-ole-days
I'm eager to see what the first fully AI science fiction film might look like, I think it will redefine the genre.

Bad framing, but a flip through none the less:

Buy another copy to celebrate more DYRL!
LOL, Nobdy whants this old cell animation bulls @it

There are A LOT of factors when calibrating a display these days.
Different manufactures use a mess of chipset methods to upscale, smooth, and get rid of frame cadence.
Looks RAD on my sony....
But I first saw DYRL on a 3rd generation VHS tape on a CRT, so what do I know -

I knew it!
Thanks all for confirming my suspicions -
Has anyone ever validated that the Flash Back 2012 Angel Paints segment actually played in theaters for DYRL's first release?
I never believed it.
Just seems like a jump in animation quality and style.
Also, If I paid for the VHS or Laserdisc on release day I would be livid if that wasn't actually included.
Just some weird fan rumor? -

Don't suppose anyone could recommend a proxy buyer so I can get my hands on RED FOX's Wilde Sau for this years wonderfest?
Yeah, the ultimate question I'm sure...
I have tried asking on my figure collection and just a general search to no avail.
Anyways, this is what brought me back to this thread.
I was so gentle with this thing, did work on the center hinge to build it back up, replaced hoses.
The leg posts just finally disintegrated so that a small gentle movement made one give out.
Figured I would touch up the gold a bit tonight since I got some super close copper gold paint. -
Success,
I was unable to recreate the issue but I believe my solution was applying pressure / massaging the dark blue panels inside the leg with a computer pry tool.
One more question if I may...
Nothing in the instruction book but I'm curious, these panels behind the gunpods should the lay flat as on the left or up at an angle as on the right?
Also, thanks all for all the help, Macross Plus Valks are almost as precious to my as my DYRL Valks

So, knowing Bandai's fetish for incoherently excessive mechanism designs full of self-destructive interlocking parts, I would bet something in either the knee joint or foot collapsing mechanisms (possibly both) is getting in the way of that panel shifting correctly. Make sure the feet are collapsed properly, and the knees are as aligned as they can be.
Also.. I'm going to make what should be a ludicrous suggestion, but this is Bandai we're talking about, so all bets on anything actually making sense are generally off the table...
Try extending the landing gear from the leg. I know it sounds crazy, but the sliding mechanism for the leg travels directly above the gear inside the bay, and if they managed to mis-cast the gear in one leg, it could be catching on the slider when you try to collapse it.
Thanks, those are really good suggestions!
Let you know as soon as I try it tonight depending on when I get home from work. I work in the IT field and power is being shut off to equipment all over LA because of fire concerns.
Probably yet another 12 hour day…🥹

I figured out what my issue is with the legs.
Looks like the dark blue tab on the top image below doesn't slide all the way making one leg longer (image on the bottom is how far it should slide).
There must be some part that is getting in the way but an hour or so of figiting with it had no results.
Could anyone point out what I might need to concentrate on to get it to slide all the way in?
I should have left it alone when it slid in properly the other day, wanted to get an unsderstanding of the idiosyncrasies mine posesses -

Finally got it! The legs just refused to go forward until I added just enough force to make me nervous…

That is a pic earlier in the thread of some poor soul's that the hip joint broke.

Late to the game, but I finally got my hands on a mint YF-19 Full Set pack thanks to Fred Su.
An engineering marvel.
What a horrible and unpleasent transformation to fighter mode, Don't think it will ever be transformed again. Is it my age? or is this thing a beast
to get back to fighter mode?
Think I need a drink....
Thankfully no damage to the hip joints.

They're locked, not hard. Hard subs are actually burned into the video, locked subs "could" be worled around with a prpprr doftware or hardware hack(such as re-authoring the didcs to remove the lock flag, or using a player that ignore's such locks).
Got it! as soon as I rip the discs I'll see if any of my bizarre media player boxes will disable them and let you guys know if possible.

Happy with the artbook, I don't recall ever seeing a good percentage of this production art.
I have the Japanese DVD and Blu-Ray box, the two "this is animation" art books and some of this stuff I have never seen before.
Now the hard subs of course are an atrocity......
Hoping to actually be satisfied with the Japanese DYRL 4K Blu-Ray, but we all know how terrible the video quality looked last time on the standard Blu-Ray.
Fearful it will be a smoothed out AI mess.

"- The English subtitles are always on when you switch to the Japanese audio track. You can't turn them off"
What a total autrocity!
Same master as the Japanese blu-ray right?
Glad I still got my import set
At least the book is cool, not much in the way of artbooks for M+ -
Anyone that may have ordered from Anime Export.
Have you heard anything back other than:
Thank you very much for sending me the pictures,We will transmit them to the manufacturer and let you know as soon as we
receive the replacement part.
I'm cool if Bandai is ignoring them, but at least let me know...
Been exactly 3 weeks.

I was a member back then, we had some serious VHS tape trading going on via mail order
Never any real meetups except once we all got together at one of the first Robotech conventions, think it was at the Disneyland hotel or somewhere in Orange County (California)???
At some point all the older members went on a trip to Japan and toured Gainax when they were in production for Honneamise.
Yeah, I totally missed out.
No way I could have financed a Japan trip with my paperboy salary ~_^
Don Yee (Rest in Peace) was one of the first Anime Mentors that I met through that group, and we still met up at times at con's until his unfortunate passing:
