What more confirmation do you need other than yamato has made everything seen in the shows used by main characters?
It's in the opening even.
You never know, it seems like after the Kai they would have done the other sound force valks first, or at least Mylene's VF-11, but they instead did the 17.
-
I love it when people get all panicky, pre-release about resin prototypes or ABS-test shots, which are often loose and have gaps, before final modification of the tooling.
Graham
Just want to point out, the coloured shoulder stripes are also visible on the fighter mode underside of the Bandai 1/65 DX VF-17S/D toys.
Graham
Maybe someone should talk to Yamato about getting their hands on a finished product instead of more prototypes so we won't have to deal with this anymore. The final version of the 19 was gorgeous but perhaps if someone got there hands on it early they could have warned Yamato about the ankles, a lot of people bit the bullet on that, I sold my 19 Kai and Sound Booster the day before yesterday because it could no longer stand in battroid mode. But, before anyone else bitches at me for not liking the same toy as them, is the D all but confirmed at this point?

If you don't like the design, think $300 is too much, and aren't even considering buying one, then why sit in this thread and voice unfounded assumptions? Why not let the people who are on the fence decide if they are going to be an early adopter or wait for people to get a feel for the final shipped toys and leave it at that? Toy people do not like MW because of the rampant speculation and hyper-reactionary panic, not because of the useful discussion of toys in-hand.
Simply put, because I can, why are you so bothered by me not liking it? This a forum, I can't say this any nicer but deal with it. That aside, literally the entire time I have been attempting to defend the people on the fence because I don't care either way. Remember the 19 prototype shots? People had complaints about then but it came and and BAM it was gorgeous, but guess what else happened, the ankles turned out be a huge problem for a lot of people. It's weird, the ankles were the only issue but we had no way of seeing that from pics, we just had to deal with it after pre-ordering and taking the plunge, now with the 17, we can see flaws and you think people should just pull the trigger and hope? All I'm saying is that I think it is safer for people to be weary and really decipher and inspect ANY shots we get before release. Yamato has been putting out some beautiful stuff, but then serious problems end up popping up that cause people to end up selling the figure they just bought for a fraction of the cost and they're left feeling cheated. Oh and ALL the people I've talked to hate MW because they have simple questions or restrictions or criticisms about something then BAM, they get torn down by some a-hole know-it-all, that or they dare to second guess Yamato in all its glory.
-
All I'm saying is that it isn't out yet, so nobodies opinion is more credible or biased than anyone else's. I remember the prototypes of the new 19 not looking anywhere near as bad as these, the paint was off but not the mold, the mold on this is looking gappy and flawed. I personally don't like this thing anyway, but like I said others did and the new pics aren't helping. I don't think anyone is being negative for the sake of being negative, I don't know where you got that, obviously the design won't change and that's not what anyone is hoping for, people are just voicing opinions. Once again why are you all so bothered by people not liking the toy that you do, to each his own, what are we 12? Nobody expects anything on this to change, it's all just opinions, everyone on this site needs to relax, it's like it's a crime to really like a toy to much but to also dislike a toy in the slightest because then you're a hater without a reason, it's why a lot of the toy community hates MW. Hardly anyone got hands on with this thing, and that wasn't even a finished product, so who knows, this thing could be great, or it could a $300+ mistake, is it really that bad that people create criticisms off a figure based on the only way they can? I mean nobody will really know until it's out, why is it so absurd to make opinions and assumptions based on the only thing we have, pictures, these things are a big investment, how you handle your money is your business, I really don't think it's absurd to have restrictions and doubts about a toy that will end up costing a small fortune.
-
Because posting the fact you're not going to buy a toy in a thread all about it isn't totally just a goofy +1 post
obviously
I think at this point your opinion is pretty biased, it's fairly evident now you're excited for it, others were as well but the pics really aren't helping. I just think it's childish to say people shouldn't post in a thread about something they won't buy or are on the edge about buying, I mean this is a forum, that's what this place is for, I think people should stop being pissy about not liking the differing opinions some people have about toys they already obviously love. I mean if you love the toy isn't that enough for you? Does it really bother you that much that someone else doesn't like it? C'mon people these things are expensive, I think it is a good idea to have a few negative or differing opinions about these kinds of things, just because something is expensive it doesn't mean it's perfect.
-
You do have a point, but why scrutinize a toy, by looking only at pics before actually handling it? 99% of us don't even speak or read Japanese so we have no idea what's written in the last interview that's been posted
We can comment on the looks of the toy but we have no clue how it works!!
For example: if you look at the shoulders you can clearly see there's a pin, and since we love to jump into conclusions I'm just waiting for someone to determine that the shoulder articulation will inevitably self destruct!!!
I don't know, I can understand people getting pissy at me because at this point I would only get a 17 if the D is released and there's a price drop, it's really low on my want list since it's fairly ugly to me,which I've posted before and people complained at me before, of course I really don't give a crap what anyone thinks. But, there are many others on here that get mildly blasted after having shown some sort of interest in getting one when it is released and have considered pre-ordering, then they see the pics and it's like everyone has to shun the unbeliever. I know it's too early to judge blah, blah, blah, I still think people should be able to hit as many uh "panic buttons" as they want, this is an expensive as figure so I think it is more than justified, and it does look gappy.
-
So people can't voice differing opinions on this thing? Everyone seems to jump on anyone who says anything negative about this thing, but c'mon, it's not like we have to lick Yamato's a-hole every time they, put a toy out. This thing is expensive and if it isn't perfect or can be criticized in any way then by god we can and should complain about it, geez.
-
I'm even more underwhelmed by this thing now more than ever, I may pick up a D if they release it, and if it's heavily discounted, because this thing does not look like it is worth the asking price.
-
Gotta love another sale, not a lot of Macross but some serious revoltech, ZOE Jehuty, ZOE Anubis, G2 Gamera, Legion, and finally a 1/60 CF VF-1A.
-
If we need anything SDF-1 related from Yamato it needs to be a TV version 1/3000 SDF-1.
-
Man I haven't replied to this thread in over a year so I guess I can give an update:
1/48=0, Yea I sold em all
1/60=14
1/100=4

haha, If bandai were not so stupid as to not let the gunpod be attachable in fighter mode right out of the box, then I would have bought the vf-19 himetal already.
I suppose yamato needs the money more desperately than bandai though since bandai already have the gundam crowd to milk as well as the mac f license.
Personally? I would like to see mac zero toys the scale of himetal at 1/100.
And bandai to continue himetal yf-19. But give us the attachments for gunpod in fighter mode for crying out loud.
VF-1 himetal is great though. Maybe they just rushed it out?
I remember seeing a prototype 1/100 VF-0S a few years back but it never happened, I'm personally happy with where they left Mac-0.
-
Hey guys at least its not the original bandai version or hi metal, stop so much whining and negativity, enjoy the toy, play with it until its arms, legs, and ankles fall off
Youre kidding right? $300 is a lot for a LOT of people.
-
It kind of sucks, I'm on both sides of the fence when it comes to the ankles. Yes, I do feel pretty pissed that my new $300+ figure has crappy ankles that can't pull off the iconic dynamic poses I want, but on the other hand, I am not a big fan of gerwalk anyway, especially the gerwalk on the VF-19. I honestly think people have the right to be mad, everyone is complaining "oh why do you want to do that pose anyway?" Well to each his own, if someone wants to do the craziest, lowest, nose on the groundest gerwalk, for $300 they should be able to, Yamato has been pulling out the stops on their newest toys but once again people are getting Yamato'ed. I personally love this valk and I have been watiing for one to come out for literally YEARS, I am pretty happy with what I got, disappointments aside since my personal preference is to love this thing to death since it is one of my all times favorites.

Aren't you the MW'er with the hugest crush on the RVF-25?
I am, but as a matter of personal opinion I really don't think the rvf-25 looks goofy, yeah it has the dish but I never liked it on there, I leave it off and then it's just a beautiful green vf-25. The VT-1 and VE-1 are just way to much for me, particularly the heads, they don't even resemble a VF-1, I don't know I just thought they were kind of lame, which is pretty much a polar opposite of everyone else since they are 2 of the rarest and most sought after 1/60's now.
-
I always thought the VE-1 and VT-1 looked really, really goofy
.

I LOVE this thing! I agree I'm strongly disliking gerwalk, but this particular valk always had an ugly gerwalk anyway. I contemplated selling mine as soon as I got it since the gerwalk is a bust, but after handling it I might keep it around for a while since the other modes are just that good. This was the top valk I always wanted in a detailed ass expensive toy form, my second choice is the VF-4, so yea, Graham, get to it.

I know they're trying to drop the old stock which is probably another good indication a V3 is indeed on the way, but damn, that price is outrageous. I think I may be one of the few who dislikes the yf-19 and Mac+, which is weird because I absolutely love the new vf-19, that said it seems pretty evident you will all get you V3. Since I have my dream valk from emerald force on the way I'll give you all the benefit of my doubt, I am STOKED for a new yf-19, I'll buy 3 so I can have a crazy all prototype squad, bring it on Yamato!
-
The yf-19 is back in stock at HLJ, oh and look they want an arm AND a leg for it, seriously who the hell would buy it at that price? It's an old mold and design, that's flawed and prone to c4 shoulders, you can almost get one of the new vf-19's for that price. I have never been a fan of the yf-19 and I honestly hated Mac+, so a new version yf-19 would still be an easy pass even if it had all the new updates.

Now I'm all scared and discouraged about receiving my Blazer on Wednesday. This particular 19 was always my favorite valk design, I've loved it since I first saw it in Mac7 when I was 9 back in 1999, and now that a super amazing toy came out of it I got hyped, but for me if there's issues with the gerwalk I might return mine and just wait for a re-release or something. Hell I might even start a saving stash for the eventual 17D, either way I am now depressed

Just paid for mine after the funds finally finished being transferred into my paypal account. Jeez $299 again just about the same I paid for the Kai, and it is comming in by Fed Ex to my job, and most likely on a Monday just like I planned with my last purchases. Got a guy who is so nosey into what I'm buying from Japan that he tried to keep it away from me just because he signed for it and tried to peak into it. (Stupid mail lady, she knows I sign for my pacakges) Tried to come up with a made up rule that I have to get all my packages after work. That's why I am going with Fed Ex they come faster than the USPS and I don't have to work beyond my usual lunchtime to watch for it, he comes before the mail lady shows up.
You sir have much more patience than I, if some random a-hole at my work was keeping my expensive imported figure from me I'd probably go so far as to threaten him and call him every curse word in the book, then I'd hit him, I know I'm pretty bad.

Just join a group buy next time. Minimal effort, two payments and the item shows up at your front door (6 month later). XD
You know I always see the group buys but I never get in on them, when the RVF-25 comes out I'll be buying all the exclusives for it.
-
I don't know, I personally thought this thing was ugly from the get go, plus it was exclusive, exclusive, exclusive.

I'm thinking after the 17 drops, the next things we will see will be the retooled and designed sound force VF-17 and VF-11, it just seems like the next obvious move.
