  1. A question for the 1/60 customizers out there. When you guys customize your 1/60 valks with a personal paint job, or add customized decals like anasazi's, do you strip off the paint or just paint over the old one? If you strip off the paint, what methods do you use? Do you still use primer to first cover the valk and then paint it? I'm going to paint mine white and add Anasazi's customized decals. Do you dis-assemble the valk into small parts when painting it? Thanks! gian7675
  2. Thanks! I was a little bit late on his other 1/48 Vf-1S Fokker but I think the other buyer is backing off...I hope It's a sweet deal indeed. Anyway, another macross fan is going to sell his collection...I hope I can make another good deal with his valks!
  3. Thanks for the info guys! Anyway, I'm also quite interested as to how Jarod did his removable 1/72 Optional Weapons on his 1/72 Hasegawa Perfect Transforming Valk. Does anybody have an idea how he did it? In my imagination, if I drill the wing so that the missiles will hang down from it, it will fall off because there's no was it can stick to the wing. What should one to so that the missile pegs will stick under the wing and yet stay under it without falling off?
  4. Just wondering if can somebody post pics side by side the 1/72 Hasegawa Optional weapons & 1/60 Yamato weapons. I want to see if how big is the difference between the two scales. I'm planning to use the 1/72 Hasegawa Optional Weapons on the 1/60 Yamato Valks. I'm kind of frustrated on being stuck with just the Reaction Missiles on my 1/60 VF-1S Strike Valk. Thanks! Gian
  5. I apologize for bumping this very old thread but I think that it's fitting to see the results of the polls after almost everybody has watched Macross Zero in it's entireity Looking back at the entire thread...it's quite amusing Almost nobody got the answer except I think for two members... Final Vegeta: wherein he mentioned that the Monster will appear and 91WhiskeyM6: Wherein he mentioned that VF-0s with reactive armour(these are the fast packs yes?) will appear. Anyway, I also thought that the SDF-1 will appear in the end but I guess most of us were wrong! Btw, is it more acceptable to bump an old threadthan creating a new thread that was already discussed
  6. exactly my point...the IHP kit has asks for the removale of the legs in order to transform...it's been discussed here on the forums before...if you wanna find out more just go to search Uhhh...I'm trying the search feature but all it keeps truning up is Error. If I just put in 1/60 as Keyword, it turns up tons of searches. Can you suggest a second keyword to go with the "1/60" keyword?
  7. Thanks! I hate my darn 1/60 but I like it too even if i'm having trouble locking the legs back into place when putting it into Gerwalk & Fighter mode & until my fingers get numb with pain! It seems that I'm a pain loving person kind of kinky!
  8. I had just bought my first 1/60 while transforming it I had a strange feeling that I was transforming a 1/72 Bandai Variable model Kit from Fighter to Battroid mode. Just wondering, is it just me or did Yamato use the bandai 1/72 Variable Model kit as a basis for designing their 1/60 line? The Yamato 1/60 is almost identical to that of the bandai 1/72 Variable Model Kit wherein you have to remove the legs in order to convert it into Battroid mode and when you look at the legs and Chest plate/arms separately, it's almost a duplicate of the Bandai 1/72 Variable Model Kit. Yamato modified it so that the 1/60 line didn't have a swapable cone and that it has more articulation. Comments?
  9. Hi guys! I've finally gotten my very first 1/48(a 1st edition Hikaru) a optional 1/48 Fast pack & 1/60( Vf-1s Strike Valk). I bought them all for $143.00 I'm the third owner of these valks and I'm very happy of regarding the 1/48 but I have mixed feelings about the 1/60 The 1/48, I have no complaints It's big and nice and very detailed and it's still beautiful even though as I've mentioned that I'm the third owner. The previous owners just kept the 1/48 Hik in display. However, I always take him out of the box and play with it everytime I go home from work and put him inside the box again The 1/60 however is a different story... I don't know if it's because I'm the third owner but I've heard complaints on the 1/60 before and I think it's the primary cause of my complaints. a.) the landing gear sags (front, & both back even though it's just sitting idle in fighter mode , b.) the Fast/strike packs kept falling off including the leg aromour . c.) the stupid pegs are so fragile that one of the twin Reaction Missiles broke-off the very first time I placed them on the wings even though I was very very carefull in placing them I already had an idea that the pegs were fragile because 1 Reaction missile peg is already broken off and stuck under the wing by the previous owner but still, the other one broke-off even though I didn't stuck it inside the hole all the way!! d.) the legs sometimes won't lock onto the front thingy when you slide the side thingy to lock it in place which explains why this specific 1/60 that I bought was full of scratche and paint chips! But the strange thing is...I still like the 1/60. I like to stare at it and play with it all the time(more time than the 1/48 ) Sometimes I get frustrated at it when the armour falls off or when the landing gear sags but I still like it It's like loving your child even though there are times that your frustrated with your child Get my point guys? I don't replace him back in the box like the 1/48 Hik. I always keep him on top of my desk at home. In the future however, given the chance if I'll buy a 1/48 or 1/60...I would rather buy the 1/48 and stay away from the 1/60 one 1/60 is enough for me...unless Yamato pushes through with the Optional Fast Packs and weapons then I'll go for the 1/60's no matter how frustrating it is!
  10. better ask my question here too than create a new thread What's the title of the background song in Macross Plus where the YF-19 is entering the Earth's atmosphere and all the lasers were firing at the debris? Thanks!
  11. Hey! it looks nice! Anybody got an actual picture of a built model?
  12. Maybe it's this one pictured above You also like it. Beauty is indeed in the eyes of the beholder Anyway, the one that you saw doesn't look like the one pictured above?
  13. My goodness! hmmm..I don't know but...it kind of looks...cool Beauty is indeed in the eyes of the beholder But maybe something is wrong with my eyes! I don't know but I think that it's the figure that makes this Matchbox Valk ugly Is this yours zeo-mare?
  14. My goodness! It's that ugly? I'm getting more curious about this "abomination" LOL! Pics please! Or is it so ugly that it doesn't deserve to be pictured LOL! Edit: Are these the guys? http://www.menet.umn.edu/~ngo/nchen_sd_matchbox.html
  15. Hi guys! In another message board that I frequent, It was mentioned that in the past, there was a Macross/Robotech toy that was released that's the same size as the G.I.Joe Skystriker...I think...but can't tranform. I think it was released as a Robotech toyline for those figs... Can somebody post a pic of this G.I.Joe Jet that's painted in VF-1 Colors? Thanks! Gian7675
  16. Very nice! One comment though but it may be just me. Isn't the Macross Kite too small? Gian7675
  17. Hi ya! This may be silly but what horrendous and huge cannon are you tal;king about? I'm very late in the Macross universe . I'm only familiar with the Vf-11 with Fast Packs (the one Yamato made in 1/72 and the Vf-11 with the large ugly Boosters in Macross Plus. Can you please provide a pic of the VF-11 with the large cannon that you're mentioning?
  18. Really! Wow, I got to buy that M&M kit in the future. It's on sale becausenobody's buying the kit hehe!
  19. I just bought mine and was quite happy that you could indeed make the Super or Strike Valk but I'm quite surprised that i can't make an ordinary VF-1 I was just wondering, why didn't Hasegaw included sprue 'C" which is a 1 pice sprue that comprises of the deployed backpack when in normal Fighter mode. I just wish that since they did re-issue the Super & Strike Valk in one box, why not include the option also to build a normal valk? How anout also an extra Head of the VF-1J? It can built the VF-1S & VF-1A variants because their heads are included. Why did they leave it out?
  20. WOW! I getting excited! Awesome! Btw, I was looking at your old thread showing the links for all of your 1/72 Step by Step building and painting but the link if I understand goes to the old boards so it's "dead" Do you have another site that has all your Step-by-step build-ups? I hope so... Gian7675
  21. OMG! All the models of the F-14 that I've seen belonged to the 1% minority! Wow...anyway, maybe my memory mist be fading hehehe! Btw, I saw your 1/32 Model Diorama. I hope that in the future, you'll push thru with your project on how to build an accurate Shin F-14B. We'll be waiting! Thanks! Gian7675
  22. Thanks for the clarrification! Anyway, this is a little bit silly, but...what's that camera/gun looking thingy that's under the nose of the F-14 which is just in front of the front landing gear? Never seen it on F-14 models before

    Tomcat

Just wondering, so this is the most correct F-14D available Out of the Box to model a Macross F-14D used by Shin in Macross Zero?
  24. WOW! Beautiful! Picture # 1 is exactly what I need! The F-14D with the Macross Kite and you can see it's on an aircraft carrier! Thanks! Very much AlphaHX! Thanks for informing me about the signature thing. I'm not going to use it as a signature on this board Gian7675
