HLJ? I thought on the 2nd/3rd someone said they saw it go up and out?
-
OK, so I am mad curious about the PM'z that are going around lol. I secured one last night using a friend in Japan, but it was like 10 USD higher than NY. I fell asleep at my PC when they reopened last night lol. I gave up by 12:30 and missed the AE one also. I need 1x more to be happy any more after that are just gravy.

This seems to be the current reality as far as Macross PT toys go, at least when Yamato was around there was some sort of competition and something else to look forward to. Now we all wait for the very same product to be put up for pre order lol.
-
What was it that made Yamato paint so tough and thick? When I had a flightpose stand damage paint, you could tell it was kinda like rubber in a way. The layer was really thick too.

I agree with the diecast parts breaking. My second VF-4G had a part just crumble with no pressure. It was my final "Yamatoed" valk Ok so back on topic: I think it's hilarious how the Bandai shenanigans effect the secondary market. I can find used VF-25F's that even may have some sort of problem for over $300 in Japan.

If I remember correctly the bow happens to the box if they don't seat the valk in the foam far enough, then force the cardboard down and tape it. Any pressure on that side of the box will help bend it even more.

I wish BW would actually take HG to court in the US. The JP ruling is sound as far as I could tell, but they don't respect it as that only applies to Japan. Is there like an international court that could settle this once and for all if BW even wanted to pursue it?

If you have the cash, luck, and patience you could recoup the cash. Buy another at the lower price and hope you can sell it for the price you payed for the first one. Crossed my mind, but I am too lazy lol. I missed the initial NY pre order on the first round of these before the reissue and they had already jacked the price up the next day. I wish Bandai could get to Yamato levels as far as paint is concerned. I am always scared to play with my DX toys as I know what's up with the Bandai paint lol. Did AE ever go live? I gave up last night after 3:00am.

I don't think they should mark them up to secondary market prices at all. I agree with the SOC comment, and they use some pretty good diecast in the Metal Build series toys also. The Metal build toys do seem to go kinda fast, but you can still get them unlike valks.

LOL exactly...

I think they never put it up. So still waiting.....

So this is not a rare thing I guess now. If you look back I posted pics of what I called my gimpy fin on my 30th reissue Alto scheme version. I got it replaced though using a friend in Japan. I was too scared to mess with it as I had a stress mark on mine and feared I would make it worse. I think it has to do with the box being a bit small for the head fin. I had a bowed out box, so I think it was damaged during the packaging phase. When I cut the tape the cardboard basically popped up like there was a lot of tension. Looking at my pics though, yours looks worse than the one I had. I would e-mail HLJ, they can contact Bandai to get you another. I had to ship mine back to Japan though, which was expensive. I wanted just the head, but Bandai wanted the whole unit back Looks like all the gimpy fins get shipped to Seattle.

See this is exactly what I am talking about. No offense Gakken, but people are spinning it with the whole "western" thing. The shops are in Japan. They don't care who the demographic is, as long as they can keep selling the product. When you look pretty hard in Japan on Japan serving only sites and shops, you see the same problem. Demand, but not enough product to feed that demand. If they had Alto's falling out of their asses in Japan for Japanese customers only, I don't think the scalpers would be able to mark up the pre-orders they have on Japanese serving sites only. I have friends in Tokyo that have problems locating some of these Renewals at a decent price even. So to sum it up, it looks like it is even hard to get these over there...
-
You would think all of the vendors would have already bitched to Bandai about missed sales opportunity regarding the Renewals..... Does Bandai even collect this data? The rebuttal I keep hearing is "Bandai wants to keep it inside Japan, thank HG" but really as a mfg, you would think you would create enough stock that Japan based retailers would buy up in huge lots. I am sure they all are looking at the figures thinking if they sold out in 30 seconds, could you imagine how many they could really sell. Bandai is a strange animal, as I thought most companies are capitalist in nature.... I can't really complain though as I already have 1 and luckily i'll get another. I just can't believe how many times I could get checked out last night.

Son of a bitch, stepped away to take a leak and I missed it
