They really think they could provide 200+ durandals?...or just wanted to make some easy interest?

The game books did not have any of the "revised" art work in fact there was not really much line art at all.
....the mystery continues
Do you own the B-Club magazines....Macross 7 era?....think there are some dealing with the VF History, etc....I would have to dig mine out.....perhaps you have quicker access to them?
-
honestly, I think the original scheme they came up with for Battlecry was actually pretty nice looking. I've always liked how they actually continued the stripe/color of the chest onto the back plate, and having transition from the colored fuselage to the white nose at an angle is an interesting touch.
Has a kind of Macross the First look about it....or is that the other way around?
-
OK....so now I really want to know what book those images come from....
I wonder if they come from one of the game strategy books...like the psp games that feature all the valks...
-
If the cavaliers sells well...maybe they will do the rest of the "unseen" squadrons from the Prometheus...based on the pics from the VF-1 GA Graphics book???
-
So....still no tampo printed UN SPACY kite?
-
I have the red one!
....and yes...I too choose to remain Zentran illiterate!

Well, so much for thinking the collection was nearing "completion."
Takatoku only made the two variants, and didn't make any Max/Milia/Fodder versions, right?
Also, how rare are the original "Hi-Metal" valks that came in the white boxes with graph linework?
If you want to collect "everything"....no........if you narrow down your focus and have the discipline to keep it that way....maybe....
In the original Takatoku 1/144 diecast line...only the VF-1J and VF-1S were made.....
1/72 Hi-Complete Models from Bandai were the ultimate valk toys at one point in time.....however, due to the superior valk interpretations these days, their desirability has eroded for all but the most ardent macross completists...much easier to find today and definitely more affordable.....

Found these:
In this M7 furoku:
I really need to organize my print media collection by series!!!

HOLY COW! That's the first time I've seen the actual products...well, pictures of. How rare are those two, and how close in scale are they to the destroids?
Metal body, plastic head, lower legs and arms?
Thanks for sharing.
@chronocidal: I agree with the "work ethics" thing, I can't do it either, and using the 12yr old PC at home is just...painful...worse than dial-up.
I would say they are the hardest to find of the original Takatoku 1/144 scale diecast figurines.....you can get a 1/240 original Takatoku Monster sooner.....the Phalanx would be the next one in difficulty.....The Tomahawk, Defender and Spartan are easy to attain.......
Although they all say 1/144 scale.....it is not very accurate....they all stand at about the same height relative to each other......

That airframe kit looks awesome....
Agreed...my spare time for detailed kit building expired long ago...but this I would buy if in 1/60 or 1/48 scale (VF-X hanger diorama!!!).....how long has it been since Yamato did anything in 1/72?.....
great kit...but for me it would need to be in 1/60 or 1/48 to match the rest of my Yamato valks.....

I have pre-pre-ordered it!

The big Spartan destroid (EXO Squad or Robotech) was the hardest one for me to find. As far as I know, they never did the Civil Defense Squad colors like the little ones, just the brown/green colors. Is this correct?
Also, does anyone have the two die-cast valk battroids that were to scale with the Matchbox destroids? I've never seen them, but have heard of them.
-
I liked the blue from the original pics....maybe it's just the lighting.....
-
Ok....so is the Alaska base valk the only on-screen vf-1 missing now?
-
Has anyone ordered the 1/60 VF-1A Hikaru that is currently on sale at HLJ? If so, is it the version with problem shoulders or is it a corrected shoulder version???
Thanks!
-
Mint condition.....never removed from the box.....still sealed....offers accepted..free shipping to lower 48 states......SOLD!!!
-
Great...maybe they will reprint the dynamite 7 animation materials book...or something better.....
-
Yo Yamato? How about stepping up your box art game for this release.
Give us a Tenjin drawn masterpiece we'd normally see on Hasegawa boxes.
Come on...your box art was great for Patlabor, Megazone 23, and Bubblegum Crisis...why do you keep screwing the Macross franchise?
Totally agree...however, I am sure they will just slap a 30th logo and photoshop image of the valk like with the current VF-1D re-issue:
-
30th box graphics:
yawn......
