  1. Well, for a brief few seconds, I had hope this would have went in the right direction to keep the series as one self-contained story...but NOPE...
  2. I can see many companies failing with this approach....you can't just dismiss the competition, especially if they have a better product....perhaps your company is at the top of their niche so maybe you are looking down at the competition most of the time, but I am sure someone in your company still is 'looking' nonetheless to avoid getting surprised and outdone.... As for the direct successor, I was referring to the 1/60 Yamato VF-1 not the 1/48 Yamato VF-1 (which is technically further back in the 'DX' chain of VF-1 evolution)....and yes, the Bandai DX is better at the moment, but not by as much as one would expect after 10+ years of the Yamato V2's introduction)...again, irrelevant of scale
  3. From Bandai's point of view....I guess...they only want to consider their own merch when making such a proclamation...still, would that mean they consider their own HCM as a step backwards? LOL... But in terms of the entirety of "DX" VF-1's produced as a category...I'd say the current Bandai DX is a direct successor to the Yamato VF-1....and it's not even that giant of a leap forward IMO....
  4. So now that we know Bandai has no issues with releasing DX VF-1's w/SSP combo sets...will we see the M&M VF-1J's before we get the VE-1? And which one will be retail vs Tamashii Web?
  5. I would have grabbed a backpak if it had the SDF-1 graphic like the t-shirt....instead grabbed the SDF-1 baseball cap... https://www.amiami.com/eng/detail/?scode=GOODS-04507532&page=rt_02&_gl=1*vrrcrd*_ga*NjE0OTUwNzE5LjE3MTc0MjAwNDU.*_ga_80SCWMLC86*MTcyMTEwMDA0Ni41LjEuMTcyMTEwMDE2Ni4wLjAuMA..
  6. Everything is more or less very easy to get these days....this one to me does not feel as special as the original 1/55 VT-1...actually nothing since the Yamato VF-1 V1 actually feels like anything special for me....it's probably a combination of nostalgia and the difficulty in acquiring the original 1/55 outside of Japan during the mid 80's....back then there was no internet or instant payments via Paypal....we had mail order catalogs and paid via checks and money orders and somehow it worked! That's how it was and we liked it....we loved it!
  7. understood, but the end results cannot be different....for example...if a specific character dies....how can he/she be both dead and alive....I guess what I am trying to say is that in the end, based on what has been written, their clearly is a side that 'wins'...regardless of what happens before 'they' get to sit on the Iron Throne
  8. Isn't the entire story and how it all plays out already determined? It's not like GoT where the ending was not really following a book...or am I missing something?
  9. I like the SDF-1 image and t-shirt color....
  10. Who is the vendor you bought your YF-21 from?
  11. That's what I was thinking too...seems red hulk is bigger and stronger just based on the poster...anyways, looks good to me so far
  12. And just to make sure no one forgets...everything....unlimately leads to the sequel trilogy.... Even the post-Skywalker Saga by default will just technically be a new 'Skywalker' Saga thanks to one Rey Skywalker.... Star Wars needs to time skip a thousand or more generations back or forward....
  13. It's probably the "English" label....guessing other non-Japanese markets may have similar stickers in different languages....the other stickers are the same across both Japanese and international releases...unless Bandai takes it to another level and produces different colored "Macross" license stickers to denote which market the item is designated to be sold in... Still...it is just the box....there is nothing to stop someone from buying an international version and swapping into it their damaged Japanese purchased version....then claiming the international item arrived damaged....so far there is no evidence that there are differences between the actual toys....at least not that I am aware of...
  14. Is Red Hulk bigger/stronger than the Hulk we have seen in the MCU so far? I have no background knowledge of any of these characters...so just hoping for a fun spectacle....
  15. What about the "bluefin" sticker mentioned in a previous post as being a requirement for processing a claim via Bandai support...does your packaging have such a sticker applied to it?
  16. I'd prefer if they just move on to something new, never done by anyone else...if M7 licenses are more affordable for them maybe a VA-3...or complete the Fire Bomber trio....
  17. I guess it depends if the non-Japanese production allotment is actually being manufactured separately from the Japanese run...I kind of doubt it though...but who knows... Actually...we have already had a few WWM releases....has anyone done any comparisons to the Japanese and "international" toys? In particular the color used in the plastics? Bottomline....if Bandai is saying "screw you" to anyone seeking help that bought their products and is not from Japan....then you are free to "screw them"...lol
  18. Bandai seems to be going out of their way to make sure they do not support overseas customers...can't say I blame them if the goal is to make non-Japanese consumers buy directly from their own markets.... With that said, I feel your item would definitely have been replaced had you been a Japanese consumer... The HG-BW deal just legitimized Bandai's stance on never needing to provide support to their "overseas" customers...but it still doesn't make it right for the Japanese shops where we buy these items from to not support us...Bandai doesn't know who their items are being sold to once the Japanese stores take delivery of the items....so these shops not providing support is lame as it always has been....but we have all somehow collectively accepted this for decades... Funny....now that there is a legit way of buying Macross in the US....how would Bandai know if you bought a perfect one via a US retailer and a bad one from a Japanese store and did a switcheroo? I'm thinking that link you were provided with may come in handy for some....
  19. Bandai seems to include "battle damage" gimmicks in some Macross releases?
  20. The "fists" can be folded into the arms to maintain as much "perfect transformation" as possible...have not tried with the other hands but they just seem too big to fit inside the arms....can check later... IMO...the lack of clicking during transformation makes it more enjoyable and stress free....It is my favorite to transform of all the recent modern DX Macross VF-1's...once placed into each mode it is very solid....I don't have a scale but it seems as heavy as a 1/55 to me...good amount of metal but guessing it must be mostly internal...
  21. I still have yet to open any of my VF-1D's....in fact, the only DX's I have opened were the recent 'Mechanic' VF-1S and only to take out the SSP, a previous VF-1S Hikaru that I bought used to keep my others sealed, a GBP armor set, and one of my original Hikaru VF-1Js.....the DX's do nothing for me, it's probably because they are 1/48, which was cool back when Yamato first released their 1/48 VF-1, but then that scale became obsolete when 1/60 became the 'standard' VF scale....I'll probably end up keeping my VT-1's sealed for now... ....unless another Bandai'd situation comes to light!
  22. Me too....but more importantly I want to see how Bandai will handle damage claims outside of Japan....hopefully they don't throw retailers under the bus and make them eat the losses...
  23. Too soon to tell....the items that are part of the WWM release outside of Japan have yet to arrive....if those arrive damaged and the purchasers have no way to replace parts or exchange entire units....then yes, they would be SOL.... Right now you have a situation that has existed since collectors have been buying Macross merch straight from Japan....you buy at your own risk or at most, buy with the hope that the Japanese retailer you purchased from is willing to be your middleman in working directly with the manufacturer to get your item repaired or replaced.....nothing new here....all WWM does is make it so you can buy Macross directly from your home country....with the assumption being that you should be able to now have some level of consumer protection that was not available before...in theory.... We will find out soon enough...
