  1. So your saying HG should rip off Astro Plan, which is a rip off of Macross Frontier, which according to RT.com denizens, is a rip off of the original Macross, which itself, as they also claim, is a rip off of Yamato? That also made me think, even though Macross Frontier never got broadcasted in the west, yet you can see a few Macross Frontier cosplayers in Anime cons. If you compare that to what HG claim that RTSC was a big success that brought new fans into Robotech, yet the RTSC cosplayers are almost none existent.
  2. At 3:32 onward, Tommy says, and i qoute: "Even though the rights within Japan might have fractured, the original different producers might be fighting over the merchandising rights.." The way i see it, Tommy Yune is intermixing the Commercial rights (Toys, Comics, Video Games, etc.) with the Intellectual Property rights. That's muddying the truth there.
  3. Looks like MEMO already uploaded the videos from AOD. http://www.robotechx.com/forums/7-robotech...ideos.html#9473
  4. By drawings you mean like promotional arts for Robotech/Macross?
  5. HG is just doing this to hype up the 25th anniversary. They know if they keep going where they are with nothing new to announce, a lot of their fans will eventually quit.
  6. IMO, it sounds like Maverick and several of these 'HG puppets' are just sour graping because the Macross franchise is moving forward and producing great sequels and gaining a lot of buzz while Robotech remained stagnant. This sort of behavior is what you call 'Crab Mentality'. They're idea is that, if Robotech can't gain that much success, then neither should Macross. So they bash on Macross because they resent it's success and try to put it down by creating superficial arguments (i.e. Macross Frontier are for Pedophiles). This kind of attitude is really pathetic.
  7. Or better yet, remake the Sentinels as a 50+ episode TV series. They already have a lot of materials to pick and choose a part to animate.
  8. I guess this will be the first and only time she'll be present in an RT 25th Anniversary Con. Specially since most of her involvement is on the original SDF Macross and not Robotech. Seto is right, this was a way to hook Macross fans to attend their Con.

  10. I totally made the whole thing up about the , though it would be an awesome fight for the REF. If they're treating Robotech like a comic book, does that mean that after 20 years, HG will once again reboot the franchise with Robotech: Crisis of Infinite Rickroll?
  11. Funny if the biggest plot twist of the Shadow Saga is revealed that:
  12. The animation quality of the battle scene is laughably bad. The notVeritechs are animated very stiffly, and most of the time they feel like marionettes being pulled by a string, plus their movements were just sliding across the screen.
  13. The trailer of this movie reminds me of an old movie titled 'Revelations' which was based on the Book of the Revelation of John. I remember how awesome it was with Angels fighting against fallen Angels/Demons.
  14. This is one of the creepiest of his reviews: Watch this at your own risk, it'll give you nightmares
  15. The top pic is unintentionally NSFW . If ever HG manage to snatch Astro Plan, they'll really gonna need to rework the characters, it reeks of amateur flash-animation quality. Also, for the sake of equality, the men must also have large boobies too
  16. After reading that long post, it made me think how much different the fundamental stories of Macross and Robotech really are. In Macross, there's a deeper understanding about the in-universe at large that we sometimes overlook.
  17. The only thing they did right, though, was the battle scenes against those Vajras Iccus(?). They at least captured the hectic battle right.
  18. Let's see if they have anything new to announce in their upcoming convention appearance this Jan. 30th.
  19. It's going to be a TV series. Some info on Astro Plan on this site:http://www.figure.fm/post/en/6531/Astro+Plan.html The story is basically lifted from Macross 7/Frontier.
  20. That's an often repeated mantra that RT fans use to defend Robotech. Your right, Robotech really didn't made that huge impact like HG want us to believe. That's just a fairy tale perpetuated by HG. And like all of the fairy tales they made up, it's full of BS. Well except for one with Rick and Minmei riding on veritech unicorns on a field of flowers (of life).
  21. Resiklo(Recycle), a post apocalyptic movie made here in the Philippines. Here's the trailer: This movie is a bit too cheesy and lame though, and took some bit from Mad Max, and ripped off some mecha from Battletech. The story is about a group of rebels/freedom fighters that are fighting an alien race that has invaded Earth several years prior. In order to take back the planet from these aliens, the rebels are forced to scavenge the land to recycle old mechas (hence the title-Recycle) for their use.
  22. Ok where to begin? Macross Frontier style fold effect, the Archangel from Gundam SEED, they hired some bloke from DeviantArt as the character designer, Vajra/Invid enemies and the enemy ship reminds me of the Sentinels version of the Ark Angel. Also, it looks like they concentrated too much on the mecha and neglecting the background and the surroundings.
  23. A competition, eh? Ok here's my entry: 'Let's Bitch About HG, Robotech and Those Stupid Fanboys'
  24. Not yet though, but it'll find its way in rt.com one way or another.
  25. I believe there's still a lot of folks out there who saw Robotech when they were stiill kids, but never took part in the fandom, or they simply didn't bother up until now. This are the people who haven't been acquainted yet with HG's darker side.
