  1. Will the fighter mode models have landing gears?
  2. Not 100% sure but I've heard that 1/60 Yamatos don't look that odd size-wise next to 1/72 scale diecast aircraft. Bandai's HCM Pro Gundam toys and Herpa's diecast fighter planes are in 1/200 scale. Yamato's 1/200 VFs should complement them quite nicely!
  3. That'll be one crazy expensive buy for India if it happens.
  4. Whoops. YF-21. Typing slipup. Or rather a mental slipup. The YF-21 looks so much like the YF-23 that I often slipup the numbers.
  5. Here you go. On the top: Oh? It looks like there's going to be some interesting things there. Oh yes, I'm definitely checking them out. Might be in the afternoon though. (39 year old office worker) On the right side: BRILLIANT
  6. What's really caught my eyes is the 1/200 scale Variable fighters collection. Dreaming...VF-1, YF-19, VF-11... in 1/200 scale!? Obviously they won't be transformable, but holy smokes they'd go so well with the HCM-Pro Gundams and 1/200 scale diecast planes from Herpa! If this is not some kind of vaporware, I am absolutely excited!
  7. I'm only translating the Macross products only on that page, but here it is. 8. I got Lancer/Yellow's green VFA-6I. Number 4103 of 15,000. I'm guessing it's not a popular color. I kinda like the subdued green color. 2 pics.
  9. I don't know if this has been posted before or if anyone is interested in knowing... But here's one guy in Japan who had a horrid experience with his Aoshima: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/nezuppo_chu_taro/51122851.html Even if you can't read Nihongo, I think the pictures says everything. Last November, the owner called Aoshima and complained. About 3 months passby. Then surprisingly 2 days ago Aoshima calls him back to say they were shipping him a new Legioss. Happy ending? *Apologies if I'm rehashing/reopening the bashing of Toynami/Aoshima Legioss. Btw, I too recently acquired the Toynami's Legioss. I can quickly see some of the issues. I dare not try to transform the toy. It's staying in fighter mode. It's the mode I like best anyways. ^^;;
  10. Just goes to show you how little I knew about Blu-ray. All I know for sure is that I will buy a Blu-ray player when Macross: DYRL comes out on Blu-ray disc.
  11. Now that the format war is over, I hope Sony doesn't backtrack and suddenly go exclusive with Blu-ray players or start adding new features (like additional DRM ideas, region-coding, and all that other wonderful stuff that makes lawyers happy but creates pain for us consumers).
  12. It's a cheap "Hot Wings" accessory. They came as a pack of 4 "pads" which you can link together to make a runway. Paid only a buck for it at Toys r Us.
  13. Dug it out from the closet. An ancient Taka. Purchased it 11 years ago in Japan at Mandarake. I forget how much I paid at the time. Probably somewhere around 10,000yen. The box and toy had seen better days but at the time I was desperate to have one. I think I did well at the time. It still had the gun and clip plus all the joints were (and still are) tight. Love the "click-click-click" sound it makes when playing with it!
  14. I haven't put on the decals yet but here's 2 pics I took a minute ago.
  15. Nice! Reminds me of the guy in Japan who kit bashed this toy and the old Imai 4-type into a perfect transformation Valk. Link: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=24574
  16. I guess it's not too surprising since Kawamori didn't work on Macross II. Perhaps miffed that he was left off that project? Anyway, IIRC the VF's in Macross II were done by Ohata Koichi of Gunbuster fame. Personally I liked Macross II and the VFs in the show. If Yamato won't touch Macross II, I can only hope Bandai or some other company (except maybe Toynami ) brings it out as a toy. If Bandai can release a SOC toy of the rather unpopular Dragonar, I suppose there's hope for Macross II.
  17. I like what you did. What did you use to take the missiles off? Were you able to get a clean cut?
  18. I would greatly appreciate if someone could give me a view of a 1/60 Yamato Valkyrie (preferably a VF-1 or VF-0) sitting next to a 1/72 diecast or plastic model F-14 Tomcat. I'm thinking of getting a 1/72 Tomcat to accompany the upcoming 1/60 VF-1 or the currently available VF-0 (which I'm thinking of getting). Thanks.
  19. The seam line in the nose is still there. Not sure but nose seam looks a wee bit better this time. Backpack/tail assembly looks just like Volume 1 to me. Like Volume 1, there are instances of "slop". Some are decent, others need work with a knife, glue, and paint (I've had to Gundam marker some areas! ARGH!). Still, I'm quite happy with these mini-Valkyries. Goes along just fine with my crappily made 1/144 HGUC Gundams! I'd love to see one of you guys take these Valkyries apart and remake/repaint them as you do with the Yamatos and 1/55 Takas.
  20. Also extremely rare is the 1/72 HCM (High Complete Model) VF-1 Valkyrie.
  21. Is it safe to use Gundam marker over Tamiya spraycan paint? I've read elsewhere that Gundam marker is enamel paint and that Tamiya spraycan paint is acrylic or lacquer. And that enamel over acrylic/lacquer is not good. Would spraying top coat over the paint prior to using Gundam marker a good idea? I use Gundam marker for painting small areas and paneling. Advice appreciated.
  22. you mean, comfort = suvivability & situational awareness Oh sure, a pilot could cope, but I would bet if you ask what they want, they'll ask for the full sphere display. Kinda like how today's fighter pilots ask for a bubble canopy. Btw, most mobile suits had at least 180degree views (1 forward screen plus 1 on each side). If you watch the First Gundam movie, you'll notice 2 side panels move into place when Amuro starts up the Gundam.
  23. I think your idea would cause information overload on the pilot. There's only so much that a pilot can concentrate on when all the info is in front on him. I mean, there is a limit to how many different screens a pilot can look at, then analyze which screen pertains to what info ,and then to react to it. There's probably also a comfort factor. I would imagine it's much nicer being able to see all around you. Plus I think there's an intangible "feel" factor when a person can see all around him/herself in a cockpit just as he/she would outside the cockpit.
  24. Thank you Miriya and Penguin! I'll try the soft tip grey G-marker. I'll try the mechanical pencil approach too (on my next kit). One mistake I made was using black Gundam marker everywhere. It particularly just stands out too much against the white bodies of Valkyries and Gundams. Some like the really deep lines but I prefer thinner lines so I have to be careful about what colors contrasts too much with the main body's color.
  25. I don't know if you're already using ships from the Gundam series but just in case here's a link to space vessels used in the "Universal Century Era" Gundam series: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Univ...y_space_vessels Also a link to space vessels in the "Cosmic Era" Gundam series: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Cosmi..._and_spacecraft Good info here too: http://www.geocities.com/gundam_uc0079/index.html
