  1. Is it going to be a perfect transformation model? I know right now you're having some issues with the cockpit... And are you going to sell/provide pre printed sheets/printable sheets, with the textures on them?
  2. Yeah... but a character named Kent, in a Batman movie, played by T. Welling? If this document is real, then that's definitely a cameo.
  3. Uhm... you hit each other... and it doesn't hurt or cut???
  4. Any comments or long reviews should go in the MP thread stickied to the top. Please be objective, and don't vote unless you actually have the toy! Doh... no replies allowed means no bumping... Hey mods, can we get this stickied, or added to the MPC thread? How about let's not and say we did? Polls are bumed every time someone votes. We'll let this one live out its life... -Max
  5. I'm starting a rating poll. If it can be combined with this, rock rock on. If not, I think it's still warranted. That way we can get everyone's opinions even if they don't desire to review it.
  6. One of the things you have to realize about this is how ridiculously common carjackings are in S. Africa, and also of course, how dangerous they are there. I don't have the figures, but the odds are stacked...
  7. For instance some of us looooooooooove Transformers. And he still doesn't ban us, even when we try to show him the true path to enlightenment.
  8. Heh, I got BW Megatron, even though I picked the fusion cannon. Go me.
  9. Sorry to be the voice of dissent... but: Lame! The acting was shoddy at best. There were a few nice touches, but seriously. We have cops running after a purse snatcher with gun drawn. Chief O'Hara's voice was driving spikes into my brain. And why the hell was catwoman so young? If everyone else was aged, why didn't she. I thought their joker didn't look nearly as good as Sandy's Joker, but I did like his hands. Yeah, the other heroes showing up looked like crap. And yeah, why is every-one against Robin. In the real DCU if someone killed Batman, there's no way in hell it would be pushed under the rug like that. Jim Gordon's smoking looked really cheesy too - it's like: "I'm method acting... look at me smoke..." The first sign of trouble was that the Boy Wonder was played by the director. This whole thing was pretty much masturbatory. "Look at me, I'm a super-hero." Wait, that was the second sign, the first sign was the inherent resemblance between this Robin and Chris O'Donnel's Robin... Just re-watched it, a few more comments: Since when does Dick wear glasses? Seriously, couldn't they afford contacts? So Catwoman is young, but Babs is scary old... The Papier Mache statue of Bats looks ricockulous. One interesting thing, this seems definitely based in the old TV show version, which it gets nifty props for. Clark Kent looks awesome. What the hell is the time frame of all this. They buried Batman before they cleaned up the crime scene? WTF?! *snicker* I just realized that O'Hara can't even maintain his accent. Why couldn't they ahve used less cheesy music? Uhm... I think I'm done now... Thank god. OK, taking into consideration it's from the TV show explains some of the cheesiness, but why honestly, it looks like they tried to mature it. So why is so much of it still cheesy?
  10. It looks like the nose doesn't fold down until step 11.
  11. Reminds me of when I got to visit Dyess AFB down in Abilene TX. I think it was Abiline at any rate. Got to check out the B-1Bs up close. Sit in the cockpit, check out the back end. Plus they ran the simulator for us. Got to "fly" it. Unfortunately they shut of the hydraulic movement so we could all get in at once. That thing was fun!!! Of course I was in the AF at the time, so it was a bit easier to broker that kind of a tour, with the right connections and all...
  12. I love this topic. Apparently black is the in word again, for african-american - which makes sense. A lot of them aren't african. Oh, and I'm green. Or at least half, my dad's off-the-boat greek. Olive skin, hence green. And where the hell did this whole caucasian thing come from? Where' all from some mountain range? When did I miss this? *sigh* I think in the end it's best to go with nationality over race. Problem is if you describe someone as have a deep tan, you think TV anchorman, not black guy. So it's kinda sad really. Half of the racial descriptors focus on appearance, the other half on ethnic origins, and the third half were pulled out of someones derrier. Oh well.

  14. Alex Ross must win, because he's the only person who does comics who has figured out what cloth looks like!!! It's sucha huge sticking point for me. That's not what spandex looks like!
  15. Agrees with Agent One. *cries a bit* It's sad. I was good until after BM. RiD was great as a humorous one shot, but then they reset. Dreamwave tried to save the story, but unfortunately I think the comics suck. My last hope lies with the movie. It's strange how used to multiple universes I've gotten. I guess it's like FF, except without the epicness.
  16. It's just discussion. Like I said, it's about being civil, and fun. Intelligence optional, but nice.
  17. I'm including all the newer series as well, only early G1 was a bunch of slapped together toys from different lines. And to answer your Prime question, 2. The original, and then the Powermaster version, which wasn't really trying to be quite the same, or more show accurate. The others were either the same character, or a different character with the same name, whose robot and vehicle modes weren't trying to be accurate to G1 Prime. Once again, as to your comment about Jazz, all I can say is that it's an unfortunate side effect of the toys coming first. Doesn't mean I like it though.
  18. I'm not angry, although I was admitedly shocked by a few of the comments made, and by who made them. But really, I just wanted to point out that the lines are vastly different, and that although everyone is entitled to their opinion, some of the reasoning isn't logical. One's allowed to like apple over oranges, but they should realize that they are in fact quite different. I'd like to see Transformer love spread, but I'm not here to preach unecessarily. I'll keep this thread up as long as it's civil and fun, though. I just want people who normally collect high-end collectors items to realize that Tranformers are a great quick, cheap fix. And many of them can hold their own against some of the significantly more expensive guys. Like I said, ask me which and I'll steer you the right way.
  19. Great start Mike, why don't you mispell defense in the title.... Was reading a thread a bit ago, and caught a bit of the Transformer hate. Just wanted to give a bit of input on the topic. I noticed that the other topic went bye-bye, I'm hoping this one wont, but I'll take no offense if it does. I just spent too much time typing this for the other thread not to post it. Oh, and if anyone has a casual interest in TFs and wants more info, feel free to ask me. Anyways, here's my reply to the other thread: *sticks out tongue at Transformers haters* Seriously though, I love Transformers, always have, always will. You want to know what one of the biggest differences between Transformers and Macross is? The number of unique designs. As toy technology has furthered, and the bounds of engineering have been expanded TFs have expanded on the designs, and are generally always trying something new. In the few instances of revisiting an old transformation scheme it tends to be an improvement. Macross has far fewer designs. The VF-1 has been perfected by Yamato I'd say, but how many have come before? The same robot, the same transformation style, being tweaked over and over again. I love the design, except for the head of the 1A. I don't mind functional heads, I just don't like the aesthetics of it. But in the end, it's been somewhat done to death. Obviously there are other designs in the Macross universe, but how many of them have the legs forming the thrusters? The other big difference is that Transformers are toys first. If there's a difference between the toy and the show, then the show isn't toy accurate, not vice versa. Lastly there's the price difference. An Alternator costs $20. A Binaltech costs about $40, you get diecast for the extra money. A 1:48 costs over $100. MP Convoy cost under $100 and when compared to a 1:48 had a lot of toy packed in, without sacrificing looks. He is about as show accurate as you can get, considering the fluctuation present in the old G1 show. For the money you spend on a toy that's mass prouduced, and has to factor in child safety, I'd say it's pretty impressive. Mind you I'm not defending the failings of a line. I love Alternators, Tracks is one of the coolest toys I've seen in a while, and I can't wait for him. Bulkhead (first five pics - prototype) is pretty damn sweet too, and he's from the mainline. So yeah, you don't have to like Transformers, but in the end, to paraquote Rocky Horror Picture Show: "[They] didn't make them for you."
  20. If you want to talk about the MOSPAEDA's and isolate the bikes, then they don't have legs either. The rider wears the boots in both modes. So there you go. It's just a torso... If you ignore the arm shields, that in theory are on struts...
  21. Skram damn it. I want him to be Skram. Are you listening Hasbro? Skram!!!
  22. Unless the products differ from the ads, Japanese version has longstacks, and no battle damage, as well as blue windows. American version has short stacks, battle damage, and amber windows.
  23. The latest word is no. In my opinion they should use the designs for the movie.
  24. Tracks is not going to be a C6. There's word from a former Hasbro employee, that all the Alternators/Binaltechs are 2003, with one being a 2002. Personally I think it's likely he'll be in the commemorative colors - blue with white racing stripes outlined in red. It would be close to Track's original scheme, plus a distinctive Corvette scheme. In the US the Alternators are supposed to retail at around $20. It's the Binaltechs that are $40ish. Also Hound being a military vehicle wouldn't fit in with the storyline of BT, which has the TFs rebuilt by car companies.
