  1. It's that time of the year again. - There are so many VF-1 buildups around this isn't anything special, but I haven't been building Hasegawa stuff in a while, so this is kinda thrilling to me to finally get to building up one of these things again. :D

Sloppily sticked together. Cockpit still needs alot of work. Also sanding is going to happen. - When done this will get the Hayao Kakizaki VF-1A from Do you remember love touch.

  2. Hey everyone,

I am not really sure if this fits in here, but the "off-topic" area should be good as this probably works under Science Fiction.

Yesterday the trailer for the newest installment of Call of Duty was released. Except for the first Black Ops, Call of Duty was mostly a let down for me since Modern Warefare. Somehow this trailer made me interested again.

Spoilers ahead if you didn't watch the trailer yet:

Call of Duty goes to Space!

    It got:

    -First Person Space Battle

    -Mechs and Robots

-Forward Swept wings space fighters! (YF-19 very much)

    So everything I like.

I think I am going to try this one. Not on day one, but when it is on a Steam Sale or something else.

    What are your thoughts?

PS: I know CoD is always something people start to argue about, so please be nice to each other. B))

  3. Holy ... I've been building this one like 3 times and everytime it ended up really bad, followed by a nice flight into the trashcan or having fun with fireworks :D

A painful reminder of why I stopped buying Revell kits. I should have just saved the money towards a down payment on a motorcycle.

  4. Looking good so far Urashiman! Is that like a trolly/electric car design? - MT

It is a public transportation system over here in Germany, to be exactly

Berlin, called "Straßenbahn" or "Tram" literally meaning "street

train". Here is a picture of it in real life.

    post-10954-0-30453200-1360873899_thumb.jpg

You can compare them to the cable cars in San Francisco, except that a tram got its own engine instead of being pulled around by a cable under the street.

  5. I let a GT6N-ZR Tram in H0 (1/87) be printed at shapeways. Got the order on monday. But there still was alot of supporting wax on it and it smelled weird. So today in the lab, I putted it in into the ultrasonic washer. did it three times until everything went finally off. I will ground it as soon as possible. Later I will build an electric motor into it, so it can actually drive :D

    Here 2 pictures:

  6. Sorry, no on both counts.

See VF5SS's post immediately preceding this for the overall shape. The official setting materials state it is mounted externally. (believe you me, I checked before posting essentially the same info in an earlier thread. If anything, the Fz-109's gun pod should be the best fit (given that VF's design history), but it's not.

That sounds about right, as they were developed at the same time and had a fly-off against each other in Project Nova to become the next main force fighter.

A good point you've got there. But I was working around with Macross M3 to check out the most stuff for the VF-14. I'd like to record the transformation animation so you could see it with your own eyes. In Macross M3 (in game) the Gun-Pod isn't mounted externally. But if the official docs say it is on the outside, I'll believe that. Is there any information about where it is mounted?

I was using top and side images from a low-poly model to ensure proper proportions.. guess it was Urashiman's from the sounds of it.

Thanks for the image of the more proper gun design,I'll try using that one.. however I'm not sure that it's even going to fit in the leg without it ending up too small, especailly for the handle to fit properly into the hand,

So I shouldn't try using that design either?I don't know how much I can use from fuzzy images in the video since specific details are blurred.

Be carefull, the views I created are kinda inaccurate. I'm currently working on better ones because I wanted to create a high detail VF-14 myself too. When I'm done with the more accurate views I'll give them to you, so you can get the best results.

  7. I had ECC do some texture tweeking to make it darker and more realistic - Here's a sneak peak at the VF-14

ECC NEED HELP WITH THE VF-14'S GUNPOD- I KNOW THERE'S NOT A LOT OF REFERENCE BUT ECC NEEDS OUR HELP

He was having problems with the landing gear surprisingly he based it on the real SR-71, but I wanted it to be accurate as possible

Looks like he is using the views I created from my papercraft version of the VF-14. :D Hope it is usefull.

EastCoastCanuck here.. I'm almost done building this model, but I will need decent reference for the right gun its supposed to use.The game snapshot is a start but only gives me its basic overall shape.I thought it might've had the same gun design I was given in the reference material Chthonic gave me.. but looks like I might not be able to use it.Might have to take a lot of liberties and make up my own details otherwise.

As for the VF9 it came out pretty well, but its transformations are kinda tricky. The shoulder bar with the arms just clip through the model once I animated the transforms. So they end up either going through the leg/engines or the upper engines no matter how I try to twist those parts around.

I've been researching around alot when I made the VF-14 papercraft. So I can help you out a little. The Gunpod is mostly the same like the one of the VF-17. It is stored in the "right leg" of the VF-14 (according to Macross M3 transformation animation). If there is anything you want to know, just ask me.

  8. NOW you tell me

Kawamori-san is a genius though or crazy...... because I couldn't figure to transform this thing - I'm having these models down b/c as fans we deserve them - in the future I will share them with the community- B/C I'm such a nice guy - they made a low cost toy of the VF-9- it was the best examble to go by -

BTW GUYS- Ill let you know now- THE VF-14 is the next one he's working on right now- the bad thing about it is- the landing gear. I try to have ECC make them acurate as possible.

Yup, but I don't have much time, so it will take a while. The cool thing about this: I will design it, so it can be 3D printed at shapeways in high frosted detail. Muhahahahahahahahahahah

The landing gear of the VF-14 will be crazy to make, as there is no known footage of a VF-14 with landingbay open.

Just check out this scratch built model

    http://www.fg-site.n.../post_old/55774

    That is just awesome :D

  9. Just finished a paper VF-2SS in 1/100, which is unfortunately not released to the general public. I'm just good friends with the designer.

    PA210012.jpg

Current work is Urashiman's paper YF-19 resized to 1/100 redrawn with the fold lines removed and landing gear added.

    PA270022.jpg

and then theres a Hasegawa 1/72 VF-0S that just came in the mail today :D

    PA270021.jpg

Still nice seeing people building my stuff. I need to get into my papercraft works again, there is still alot of stuff I need to finish. But there is not much time ...

  10. Nice SDF-1 :D

Masked the SV-51y cockpit today and colored it ... wasn't easy with my giant fingers. Here some pics:

hurr hurr, kinda falling in love with this plane now hehe :p

Need to color the gearbays, intakes and exhaust, then it is time for washing and applying decals. After that complete assembly.

  11. Holy!

This is way beyond awesome :D

Technically, this 'WAS' lying on my workbench a month and 1/2 ago....

After I completed the SDF-1 custom, I was going to go back to my old VF-25S Ozma. However, I was derailed by this baby. :o

When I saw it, I just couldn't resist!

Some MW members might have seen this already from other forum, but I'm posting here again in case you're MGS fan and missed it.
