It wasn't announced as such, and the story broke in Famitsu's Playstation mag. Honestly, I have lost alot of the excitement I had for this game. I don't want a hack and slash MGS game. Can we get a mod to rename this thread Metal Gear Solid: Rising?

I got one part right about the censored interview, they are using the MGS4 engine, but radically changing the game mechanics.

If this is going to be just a PSP release, I will be highly disappointed. I'd love a new game, but I could settle for a remake(s) or PSN release of the original MSX games.

... FM was already "3D". This wasn't a perspective change, it was a total game genre change.

Hard to say, with a title like "Evolved", it makes it sound like they are changing the series. But true enough, nothing keeping them from doing another SRPG in the future. But I don't want "in the future", I want now.

We have played and followed the series for all of these years because of what it is, a superb mecha SRPG. If I wanted to play Armored Core, I'd play Armored Core.

Playstation Insider says: Back when the Famitsu scans first leaked, we reported that they mentioned a PSP and PS3 version of Metal Gear that would feature interconnectivity between the two allowing you to further the storyline by playing both versions. We since removed that from our translation after several of our Japanese speaking friends notified us that the scans said nothing about it. Well now it seems as if those rumors are starting to show their faces again, with Kojima said to be working on 3 projects. Two of which are said to be the PSP + PS3 Metal Gear, the other is rumored to be Lord of Shadows. We will be bringing you the latest information on all 3 of these rumored titles as it becomes available. Our team will be at E3 meeting with Konami, so stay tuned for the latest details. Grain of salt.

I'd post the trailer, but I am too disgusted over the change they made. It was developed for Square Enix by California's Double Helix Games. Figures that an American developer would take a classic Japanese SRPG series and turn it into a shooter.

That was a fan-propagated rumor (one site actually had that up, then pulled it) about what was supposedly said in the Famitsu story. When the actual translations started coming out, this story disappeared. Is it possible? Sure, we just don't have any evidence for it right now. Won't really no for sure until either this countdown nonsense is over or someone announces something.

Its possible, but all we have confirmation on is the new game for the PSP.

The June issue of Qore has leaked, and along with it news that the new MGS game is for the PSP. This has been reported by several outlets. Nothing to see here, folks, move along...

I am not sure how that makes much sense. The game came out only a year ago. I mean, a redone MGS4 with a not so old Solid Snake (now missing an eye) and Gray Fox instead of Raiden?

For the record, Olga has green eyes. If its not Gray Fox, I am going with Sunny. Besides, the teaser site supposedly ends on a "sunny" day.
