  1. I think it looks very cool, and I'm really looking forwards to it. No idea what 'thunder cat' is?... is that an american feline?
Thundercats is a cartoon from the 80's. The pilot episode is fantastic...definitely worth a look.

I don't mind that the aliens look like Thundercats, but from what I saw, they just don't look real. Time will tell if Cameron taking the title from M. Knight was worthwhile.

  2. I just picked up tf2 swerve and arcee. Arcee does have a weird "spine"

That you"ll have to adjust to your liking. The instructions just make it look weird

And off balance. Anyway there's a part on her back that moves and looks like you can

Connect something to it. Is this a combo bot? Do I have to get chroma too?

As I understand it, Arcee, Chromia, and a third motorcycle combine into one robot.
  3. Not that I doubt the 360 has had a huge failure rate, but Game Informer has zero credibility. They are just a "pay us money" scam from GameStop.
I agree that Game Informer is a scam. But I'd actually bet the failure rate is even higher than they reported. Every person I know with a 360 has had it.
  4. Has anybody mentioned Microsoft's extremely high failure rate with its Xbox 360? The so-called "red ring of death" plagued the initial release of the 360. Every person I know with a 360 has had the RROD. The problem is caused by a certain type of solder used in the main board that reacts poorly over time to heat. Microsoft then modified the 360 to run cooler, rather than switching to a less troublesome solder.

Guess what? Even with the newer 360's (identified by an HDMI port on the back) the red ring problem is slowly starting to crop up again. Hope everbody's still under warranty.

  5. A toy store near my place has the Animated Voyager Class figures at under $15 each. Mostly Optimus Prime, Cybertron Mode Megatron, Bulkhead, Starscream and Lugnut, but they have Shockwave. Is he worth picking up?
I'd say so. He's got 4 modes...most of them clever.

BTW, I noticed that there are two variants of Voyager Prime; one has a silver Autobot emblem on the left side. Is there a production difference?

Do you mean the '07 movie version? Because the same mold was used for the ROTF version.

Also, can the same be said about those packaged in robot modes instead of vehicle modes?
I have no idea. Maybe somebody else has the answer.
  6. That sounds right to me. Also, anybody who was going to buy only one of the $200+ Beagle/Toynami armor (like me) most likely already bought Stick/Scott. So of course the Ray/Rand release was going to sell less. Had Fuke/Rook been the second release it would have sold much more, but it probably still wouldn't have outsold Stick/Scott.

I think Beagle should've expected that difference in sales. They're clearly familiar with the characters and with what their demographic wants.

  7. A question for those in the know.

My son really likes the Transformers G1 cartoon (I bought him a DVD set) and has been asking for a Ratchet or Ironhide toy.

Have there ever been any decent toys of Ratchet or Ironhide made where the bot mode actually resembles the cartoon?

The only toys I have seen are the 2007(?) reissues of the original G1 toys, which frankly have bot modes that look like ass and nothing like the cartoon.

    Graham
