Ridley Scott returns to Alien!
Alien is one of the best sci fi movie of all time.
Thanks god, Ridley is back for the prequel.

Box art
Not sure if I like it. It seems 80s style in a bad way.

Yeah baby!!! Side Covers!! The proportions on the 1/60 V.2 GBP look great. Don't get me wrong the 1/48 GBPs were very detailed, but they gave the sleek and sexy valks the proportions of the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man. These new GBPs will give the V2s some serious muscle. A definite buy!
Yes, the side cover looks so sweet.
If my limited japanese correct, in the text, they 'joke' about having 'side cover' for all the valks from now on.

It has been awhile, any news about the Phalanx?
I still hope it will come out by the end of this year.

Wow, 19" Galactus!
That is just crazy.

That is the 1/100 scale Regult Tactical Pod. It is just a little bit larger than the Revoltech version, maybe an inch (20mm) taller.
Wish they had made it 1/72 since that will be about the same height as the 1/60 valks.
Thx guys.
I/100 still better than non-scale... I still hope Yamato will make a 1/60 Regult oneday.

I find this pic in the internet, suppose to be from some sort of convention or Comic-Con.
Does anyone know anything about this?

I never finish to watch the series (watch more than half of it and some ep near the end), I just can't see it fit into Macross world well. But it won't stop me to buy the toys, as long as I like the design.
However, Macross 7 valk's design is also my least favorites in the Macross series, I just can't accept a Valk with a 'face' , too colourful, and Speaker in their shoulders etc.

So what's currently the best deal on a VF-25S+armor preorder?
i think the deal from anime-export is pretty good, since they ship it by SAL (940 JPY (to USA)) plus 16200 JPY for the toy.
-
Acually most of the extra parts are just the optional 'open' missile hatches. Because the Armor parts are mostly non-removable, there's not really too many other extra parts.
Looking forward to see some members posting some pic/ review of the vf25 Armor. Then I will decide if I want to get one...

It should almost the same size as a Jumbo Grade Gundam. And with super details and far more expensive!
If I have the money I would love to have it display with the Yamato 1/2000 SDF1 next year.

thx for the link.
The MG Guntank looks awesome.
-
dammit, this year is so disgustingly expensive!
Wait until you see the SDF-1 next year...
Hope they will show some close-up photo soon.

beautiful photos.

well, to play devil's advocate, it's not like the frontier "transforms" it just lays down.
I shall call that 'lazy' transformation.... or deep space 'sleepy' tranformation

He has a face mask when fighting and quite frankly that has been a staple of Prime designs for a long time. Even BW had it, though he didn't put it on a great deal.
I doubt we'll see redesigns or less humans for reasons I've said in one of the threads.
I also doubt they'll get a new director, in which case the fight scenes will probably be very similar.
Yes, what i means was a mask that stay still, will NOT open!
I never want to see Prime 'open his mouth' again.
-
1) Change director - get rid of Bay.
2) Zoom out for the fight scenes.
3) Redesign the Transformers so they more closely resemble the G1 designs.
4) Less screen time for the humans, more screen time for the robots.
5) Redesign Optimus Prime's face under mouth-shield, so that he doesn't look like a toothless old man. Or better yet, don't have any scenes where the mouth-shield opens.
Graham
I think the most important thing is giving Prime a 'face mask' (mouth shield)!
And no more half ass humor, please.

Oh, no. I'm aware of that, I'm a comics artist. I still think the proportions are a bit different, but I don't mind: the toy looks good anyway. As I said in my previous post my main concerns are design wise.
Yes, the proportion are a little different than the line art, but overall it looks very good to me.
I guess the 'saggy' shoulders cause by mistransformation. After all, it is a transformable toy, no surprise that has little proportions issue.

More RD pics :
RD Unicorn looks very good.
I really like the Unicorn design. Hope Bandai will make a 1/100 or 1/60 Gundam fix metal - Unicorn! (non- transformable).
-
Thx guys. I know that 1/72 modelkit has the best looking and value for money.
Apart from modelling skills and time, I am worrying the transformation and decal/sticker will not last...
That is why we are in the 'toy' forum!
-
I tried to sharpen the image But I guess I need to look over the photos in my hardrive to find a higher resolution or just reshoot the toy. The camera I have is good considering it's a kodak easyshare good for taking distance shots of 4 feet and further but try to get a close up it give me problems.
Sorry f I crash the party... I couldn't help it to make my own version with your pic. Since I use photoshop at work daily.
I would say that using the same res pic for background would certainly help. But also important to find the right (light direction, color, pix resolution, focous point etc ) background picture to work with the object. You can also use Blur tool to help to bend the object into the backgound too.

Never own a VF100 toy.
I am considering to get the 25s armor (once it come out)..... However, if VF100s is that bad, I might have to think again.
Problem is 1/60DX is expensive and I am worry about the QC too. The ROBOT 魂 is so small, even smaller than 1/100! That is just too small for my taste, 1/72 modle-kit looks the best and reasonable cost, but i am not good modeller and also just too lazy to build one. (still have a VF25f model kit waiting for me to build since Feb!)
Damn it, why it is so hard to find a good Macross F toy?

This one looks 'bad ass'.
