  1. Thanks! I missed that post. Cool... We'll have indeed everything it seems. 2009 is truly the year SDF sets off!
  2. Does Yamato have the license to do VF-4?
  3. I hope not! I would buy it for sure, but I would feel stupid.
  4. There's a familiar feeling that I want to see someone's breast but couldn't...
  5. I have more faith that Yamato would issue "everything" for the 1/60 series now.
  6. I think there used to be a 1/60 v2 thread, but I don't seem to see it now. So I started this one...
  7. So nice! I envy people with such skills (modelling/ painting/ weathering).
  8. First of all, I would not argue that the Japanese are expertises in designing of such complicated toys in the world. However, everyone knows the DX series is a BIG project. How would Bandai simply pass such an important project to an inexperienced/ incompetent team? That is not sensible to me. My view would be that some Chinese designers are involved, to let them gain some experience or wise. But if someone said "it looks bad because it's designed by a Chinese design team", it looks more like shifting the blame. For "durability vs accuracy", I understand that some accuracy is sacrificed for durability, but IMHO there's much room to improve the accuracy without hurting the durability.
  9. I have grown accustomed to the look of DX's now. However, I am more inclined to wait to see if there would be a new model from the movie. That's VERY likely. And I believe the designs would be largely improved then.
  10. Hmm... I think the blog says that they received complaints on the color so they corrected the color of the heat shield to black. So I expect it to be black in the 1/60 model... While I support the thinking that "only Focker should get the black", I double-checked that the Max 1S always has a black heatshield in the movie. Unlike Hikaru's 1S, which is red now and black then. Well, then my 1/48 Max 1S has better value that it is not entirely redundant
  11. That was actually mindless ranting; I am getting it even if they paint it pink.
  12. While I am indifferent on the color of the heat shield, I feel a bit uneasy that Hikaru's 1S heat shield is red not black. Well... We might as well have argued why Focker's heat shield isn't yellow... I don't know. Personally I prefer Focker to be special, not Hikaru. Or look at it in another way; the blue 1A has a blue heatshield, so should be the blue 1S. Or they should have made the Hikaru 1S heat shield black too. I sure did see a screenshot or two of this bird with a black heat shield.

    1/48 GBP-1S Set

How did you manage to resist the US$50 deal for the GBP? I know I couldn't. P.S. Ah, that's why the fins are now foldable.

    1/48 GBP-1S Set

But the 1/60 would never look as massive.
  15. So you didn't get the Focker 1S also? That's a shame! I doubt if they would ever release a TV 1S...
  16. I agree! After I have my model made my urge for the DX ceased to a level that I can wait in peace for the price to go under US$100. The models look THAT good. It doesn't take a veteran to make it look good either.
  17. I am shocked! If they care to release VF-11B -- no offense, but I think there are more fans for Spartan than VF-11B - why not the Spartan? And also notice that - VF-11B will take more engineering effort for transformation - it's a bigger model, so it costs more for manufacturing, storage and shipping/ transportation I cannot understand the rationality. BTW, I would vote Spartan too for my most favorite Destroid.
  18. Why, I think the VF-25S looks perfect!.... Wait... I'm now in the Toys section, not Model Kits. Sorry. (I love the Bandai models, so I am not a B-basher nor a Y-yesman. I suppose.)
  19. Thanks!!! Finally, we would have the full Vermillion Team in 09! I think every 1/48 would be magazine-special. What's next? VF-1D?
  20. Still, I wish that would give Bandai a reason to re-release with a better design (necks anyone?).
  21. Just for your information, the price of the DX is coming down in Hong Kong... It was crazy like US$185, and it gradually comes to a point that no one will bother for US$147. (currency converted for your easy reference) It seems that the ship shipment (?!) is arriving, so people have to sell their stock fast.
  22. I think I shouldn't have tainted this thread with the pic of a model. Pic removed
  23. N/A... No kids (yet)... And I have made the model already and I really love the scale and the look... Frankly, the DX looks "ok", but the model looks great. And the DX is so much more expensive! The problem is, I won't transform the model again because the decal wears off like taking an acid shower.
  24. Looking forward to it! I am still unsure about buying the DX toys. While they don't look as good as the model kits, they can be okay with the right poses and angles. And after fixing the neck of the 25S.
  25. I won't bet on that other companies could get a hand on the movie license... I am wishing that Bandai would kind enough to open another line of products for Macross F. 1/55 maybe? So they can stand as tall as the VF-0s and YFs and I can pretend they are of the same scale.
