  1. Most of the ruckus was due to some of the older fans feeling indignant that the new show wasn't hewing to the conventions created in the original show. It was the rose tinted helmet visors that clouded a lot of opinions. But in the case of Robotech, most who ended up going into anime from Robotech find it not noteworthy in comparison to more important shows like Evangelion or Cowboy Bebop. Robin Williams is definitely not a fan of Robotech, nor do most people even remember it in some detail. What's happening in Robotech fandom is a sort of vicious cannibalism of the fanbase.
  2. WB will probably decide to do a Roadbots movie instead of trying to muddle through the mess that is Robotech.
  3. Wait a minute Just wait a minute They had an alien named L Ron? THAT EXPLAINS EVERYTHING.
  4. Got any pictures of the articulation of the big one?
  5. Thats the obvious solution, but definitely not one that people would want to hear. Especially if Reba West tries to sing again.
  6. It wont happen, for the most part because HG would have to license both the animation and the music. And the music is quite expensive, considering the caliber of the artists that worked on it. Think of it this way, Macross Frontier was the first anime since Evangelion that has had sound tracks sell in excess of 500k copies. HG would be crazy to think they can cheaply license that. And if they make their own songs, it would be terrible to listen to , since they'll probably get their voice actors to do the singing. Even then, the voice actors would probably ask for double or triple fees for doing songs. The anime market has progressed very far from the 80's. VA's know how important they are to a show now and they'll ask for fees accordingly. As for the adaptations of Macross, considering that the Robotech universe is in a continuous state of war with no actual signs of attempts at peaceful efforts such as long range emigration, the two series's would be incompatible save for some kind of interdimensional retcon to making any of it make sense. Lets not forget that the mechanical designs of both series' have diverged wildly, with Robotech still using 80's mecha design.
  7. I bought the CMs Calamitydogs set, the Green X Red one. They're alright, but the joints are really lose The waist and thigh joints move too freely, making it a bit difficult to pose. Articulation is alright, with everything using ball joints. The shoulders though have double ball joints, which is very nice. The green Calamitydog has a claw hand, and one of the fingers on the claw is very easy to break. The hands are very difficult to remove, and the ball joint feel like they're breaking when you switch hands. Otherwise ,they do have openable cockpits but the pilots are legless. Not much in the way of accessories other than the guns. I also bought one of CMs FX Warrior AT's, and it was downright terrible. The hands dont fit into ball joints, and the ball joints for attaching the weaponry break terribly easily. I had to take it to the machine shop at work just to fit the weapons. The joints are completely lose, and the figure can barely stand, and it cannot be posed at all with any weapons attached to the hands. Stay away from this thing. The only things that saves this from being complete garbage is the cockpit has a brain in it and that it's colored silver, and the plethora of accesories. These toys aren't in production anymore, so if you buy them ,they may cost more than they're worth.
  8. So not only is Harmony Gold douchebags to their fans, they're also douchebags to the people who rent their apartments. I have a hard time thinking of why someone would like anything about these bastards.
  9. Only fan projects that are better than anything HG farts out are at risk. Which is basically everything, including Hikaru/Max slashfics.
  10. The C&D order is a scare tactic. Legally, HG can't do anything about a fan production because they don't own the IP of the designs. Its a new story ,with new animation and artwork, and as far as the law is concerned, the only people who can intervene are the IP owners.
  11. That UEEF logo looks like something I could fart out in MS Paint.
  12. The Sheryl Nome nose art statue has a new special edition that has the bonus of having heart shaped pasties and removable top.
  13. Does HG have the merchandising rights to Macross Flashback?
  14. Sinanju and Unicorn are already out. Kyshatriya will probably not come out since its so big. So the most likely MG's will be Geara Zulu, Jegan, ReZel and Delta Plus.
  15. I dont think it will be, since this one falls under Chogokin DX, so there should be at least some metal in the joints.
  16. At best, it could be 1/100 to match up with VF100/VF HiMetal.
  17. Thats just sad. They're bootlegging their own stuff.
  18. With friends like Harmony Gold and Toynami, who needs enemies?
  19. Ngee Khiong reports that a chogokin Koenig Monster was on display at Tamashii Feature Vol. 1 event. NK says that it is not the Robot Damashii figure. I can't tell the difference.
  20. I suppose mass delusion can effect the strongest minds? Oh well, Ill be waiting for the next Macross movie , while Shadow Rising is indefinitely in production.
  21. Dark City is very under-rated but very cool, especially all the plot twists (the entire movie is like a string of plot twists).
