I don't know if this pic has made it's way over here yet, or if the Valk in question is a custom, but check out the legs in the top left corner on the new "launch arm" stand:
Well, here in the US at most e-retailers, the Yamato 1/48 are closer to about $130. And considering the Valks themselves and the FAST packs are plastic, what makes you think the GBP armor would be metal?
Whoah! That's a pretty big estimate. I'd say more like $190 - $200 with the Valkyrie (not taking into consideration the strenght of the dollar against the yen at the point of it's hypothetical release) and somewhere between $65 to $80 for the armor by itself if they offer it that way.
Yeah, for $37 bucks I can get a couple of Sithlord's stands and have change left over. From what I've seen of this thing, it isn't special enough for me to waste $37 bucks on. Especially if you can't even attach the gunpod on the Valk while it's on the stand.
I'd say since they're already marked up before you consider the $22-$32 shipping (from Hong Kong), and since you can still get them from Tam and Kevin, that this qualifies as absurd:

If you mean GBP armor, then nobody knows. At least nobody is saying anything. I would buy it as I'm sure other 1/48 fans would. We'll have to wait and see.
I'm surprised at the number of people sitting out. What's the reasoning?
a) I've got enough 1/48s
b) I'm sick of the VF-1
c) too expensive/I'm poor
d) I don't particularly like the Max/Miria scheme
e) space is becoming an issue
not help, a girlfriend instead
It's not a in the picture though.
Ya, a GF into anime... and Macross rollplaying
Start looking here. Maybe you'll get lucky.
I'm not too crazy about the flight suits in the TV series. Hikaru's bothers me the most, probably due mainly to the color patterns. I thought the DYRL? flight suits were cool, but I didn't like the "out of cockpit" outfits. Macross Zero seems to use modern day flight suits with anime shoulder pauldrons. I like 'em though.
