Arcadia’s newest Macross product page recently went live and it’s for the 1:1 scale replica of Basara’s iconic guitar from Macross 7. Previously seen as a potential Yamato Toys release, we’ve been getting images of this guitar in trade shows and at the Yamato open houses for quite a while now. We’ve even had reports of Yoshiki Fukuyama handling the guitar in one gig.
Tentatively priced at 350,000円, this fully functional collector’s piece is obviously aimed at the biggest and most well to do Fire Bomber fan. According to the page, Mr. Fukuyama himself had input as far as the guitar’s body design. The guitar will be hand made and made to order. It also warns that each piece will take several months in production. Each run will be done in quantities, the first run will be limited to ten. A case, 4 picks and guitar strap will be included, with each item emblazoned with the Fire Bomber logo.

Yoshiki Fukuyama has also announced via his website and the Official Macfross Fan Club that he will be doing a tribute tour: ‘Yoshiki Fukuyama Sings FIRE BOMBER ~ A Tribute to Nekki Basara~.’
The tour will kick off on September 1st and include 8 shows over the course of four weeks at different cities throughout Japan. The last solo Tribute concert that Fukuyama did was in 2005, although he has been known to spring the odd impromtu Macross gig on fans, as he did during Christmas in 2010.
Yay for almost-two-week-old news.
On February 2nd, 2012, Mylene Jenius celebrated her -19th (that’s MINUS nineteenth) birthday, and to celebrate, psychedelic goth rockin’ lady Chie Kajiura got together with her band and some other friends to perform in a second annual “Mylene Night” concert, consisting of INCREDIBLE renditions of Macross songs old and new.
Save, Tochiro and I scored some tickets and mosey’d on down to check it out.
