The color scheme reminds me much of the the Orguss "Ish-kick" kit that Revell had back in the 80s as part of their Robotech line!
  2. I love it! One of the most original customs I've seen in a long time.
  3. Seed Gundam is pretty stupid IMHO. The characters are the same as before, with a prettier robot. Save us the trouble and just sell us the toys without the idiotic cartoon to go with it. Kids don't make better mecha pilots because of ridiculous genetic advantages.
  4. I'm playing at 4-7 ft. It's very close. You shouldn't have to stand so close to a 50" TV to make this thing work. I feel like there should have been something to help it understand where the corners of my screen are. The only things I can configure are whether the sensor is above or below my TV. Trying to aim in games like Zelda is HORRIBLE. It is NOTHING like just pointing with your finger. I can point MUCH better with analog sticks. The WIImote is *totally* a gimick in Zelda, and only detracts from the game play. I'd much rather be playing it with a traditional GameCube controller.
  5. Up on top of the TV. I've told the WII that too.
  6. Try writing to Tamiya Model Magazine. It's published in the UK and many of their staff use/recommend it. They must know where to get it!
  7. I've gotta say... so far I'm having nothing frustrations wiht the Wiimote. I can't calibrate it correctly. I have a 50" TV, but I have to hold it at a very specific angle for it to think i'm actually aiming at it, from 7ft away.
  8. How do you return a WII game?? Most stores won't let you return opened software....
  9. I swear by it. Applied with an air brush, it is by far the best coating, smoothest, thinnest, and most economical clear coat you can use. It always goes on excellent, always dries smooth, and I can put 5-7 coats on a model without losing any detail (at 1/72 scale!). I tried many other brands, but none are as easy to get *right*. The aerosole can sputters as its preasure changes and cools, or I run out of spray at a critical moment! And these cans from Tamiya, Testors, etc. cost an arm and a leg! $5 per can, that will only last you 2-3 models at best. A $7 bottle of future will last you *years*.
  10. interesting tachikoma you have there! whats that on her arm?
  11. So are the most recent Star Wars kits from ERTL, like the big Falcon or Falcon cut-away actually any good? I'd love to build one, but that 1/72 Fine Molds is just too expensive for my blood
  12. As for it being "squat"... i think that's just the artists idea of proportions. You should really be weighing it on its mechanical merits, because thats what he's clearly trying to improve on.
  13. I've been playing a lot of Mario 64 lately. The game is HUGE! It doesn't explain itself very well, but I never played the N64 version and didn't know I could keep re-entering each lvl for more missions. The camera took a long time to master, andn can still be a problem. However, overall the game si fantastic. Graphics, sound, and game play are all top notch. It's easy to see why it's been in the DS top-5 for so long. I also picked Mario vs DK 2 last week; not as impressed. The game seems a far cry from Lemmings. The idea is cute, and the animation & sound are very nice, but it doesn't really hold my attention. Most of the time I want to finish a lvl just to be rid of it.
  14. He's looking to download Macross 2036.
  15. WOW! Love the lighting! Is that something you rigged up yourself?
  16. You know, I woke up this morning dreaming of origami office buildings. I'm sure I could print some up on my Inkjet!
  17. Thanks for the responses. I did a few web-searches for n-gauge office building sets, but not much luck. Looks like the mode train crowd is not as online as the macross & general modeling crowd
  18. This reminds me of when I was a kid; I thought Soundwave was a real walkman! Imagine my disapointment when I learned the truth..
  19. What eva kit are you using there TSP? It looks great! Nice details. Thanks for the info! I didn't know that 1/160 was N-Gauge. That makes finding ready made scenery a snap. Eva being so HUGE is a total shocker! I had no idea they were that big!
  20. I just finished building a 10" Eva injection kit (produced by VOLKS waaay back in '95!) and would like to make a small diorama base of buildings for him (her?) to stand in. Can anyone suggest a favorite brand of scale buildings in smaller scales? (1/50->1/100 I figure). I know there are tons of buildings available in the larger "armor" scales, but not so much in the tinier scales that most anime kits tend to be made in. My kit is about 24cm tall, and I've read that Eva's are about 40 meters tall, making my kit something like 1/160 scale.
  21. I love that design! The shoulders meet where the arms are, and the "gunpod" is actually the arms! Also looks like he has lasers pointed in both direction, with the head and shoulder serving to hold 4 laser cannons. Discarding the backpack seems like a great idea too!
  22. Great wire mount! where do you get those?
  23. HWR, what exactly did you do there? I'm guess a very bright (white?) primer coat, followed by air-brushing black over the panel lines, and then spraying over that with your base color. How do you keep the black visible through the top layer? When I've tried to do something like that, I end up covering up too much of the underlying black panel lines
  24. Here are some random pages from the same 1994 issues of Hobby Japan. There's an ad for the 1/220 Dendrobium, pictures of newly released (!) kits, and a fantastic custom G-Gundam job. [attachmentid=37880][attachmentid=37879][attachmentid=37881]
