Anime Crash

Haven't they been around for a while?

I thought they were out of NY and they used to have a store here in MASS (Harvard Square) up until a few years ago.

All I get on the link is a Title page...

To compare something unheard of before Eva and Akira is a bold statement. Sounds rather generic in any case as well. Last thing we need is another a-hole company.

Seriously, who gives a crap about a small little RPG group. What would they have to gain shutting them down? If anything, they would have the prior art anyway.

No business for Anime Crash.

I thought Anime Crash was out of business forever. Or is this a new company of the same name?

According to the link posted by GRAND CANNON, Anime Crash was acquired by foreign film distributor Crash Cinema (Golgo 13: The Kowloon Assignment).

Hmmmmmm check this out (didn't read the whole thing, though)....

Well, this guy kind of screwed up by backing down and giving up www.animecrash.net. It's well-documented, as he states, that domain names come on a first come, first serve basis. If he didn't want to give up animecrash.net he didn't have to (his hosting company should've known this, too).

The only way Anime Crash could've won that battle is if 1) He backed down (which he did), or 2) Paid him for the address (which he should've done).

His loss.

Usually new business ventures try to achieve a good public image. This company does it the other way around. Do they believe that bully some unknown and insignificant anime RPG group will help their business? Stupid.

Seriously, for someone wanting to wage a 'war' against some asshoel company, backing down all the time isn't gonna help. Just because he doesn't want his host to get in trouble, doesn't mean he doesn't have to hodl on to the name. Hell, host it with www.portalofevil.com, last i checked they welcomed websites that would otherwise get banned/kicked off/sued by other companies.

They both seem like schmucks. The company for trying to bully others around with groundless threats that they could in no way back up, and the guy running the roleplay group for letting them. He says the war isn't over, but he gave them everything they wanted and now he's waving around a petition that's about as meaningless as the company's groundless posturing.
