Actually a hint of purple might serve you well, too much black is going to give you a dried blood, very dark red color, I think you may get what you are looking for by adding just a tiny bit of purple to keep the hue from going to dark but still giving you that deep red.

Just a though if you start farting around with blending and can't get the shade you are looking for

I was going to suggest blood red with a purple wash. Wash it once lightly and let it dry... then see if you need to wash it again. FYI... red wine varies in color a lot... not that I'm an alcoholic or anything :rolleyes:
