DestroidDefender Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 I've completed my Bandai 1/55 collection by getting a VF-1J reissue. I notice unlike the VF-1A, the Hikaru special does not come with a subsitute cockpit cover for battloid mode. I thought this would be a no brainer. Why supply a cover for some and not others in this series?
CID Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 The VF-1J was the first reisssued by Bandai. it did not include the cover. Subsequent reissues were included with covers. I am guessing that Bandai did not see the use for the cover initially. :lol
Solscud007 Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 I believe they came out with the heatshield as an after thought to compete with Yamato's swappable heatshield design for thier 1/60 line.
Chowser Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 i wondered the same thing when I first got the VF-1J reissue. but it didn't matter much since he's always in battroid mode with GBP armor on.
