RichterX
Any one knows if Capcom is making a game based on the Macross fighters?? I saw the following, couldn't read anything about it cause don't know japanese... http://www.capcom.co.jp/newproducts/arcade...faga2/robo.html Any one knows anything about it? JB0
Educated guess: Not Macross, though it was likely inspired by Macross to some degree. First, the title looks to be "Strategic Variable Fighter Rafaga". The logo doesn't look like it says Macross(I'm going by looks and what little english is floating on the page, as I can't actually read japanese, but the fact that Macross only has 4 characters and the game logo has what looks to be 6 is a dead giveaway). Second: The modes are labelled fighter, spinner, and soldier, as opposed to the beloved fighter, GERWALK, battroid trio we all know. Third: The mech doesn't really look much like a Macross design. For example, doesn't Kawamori usually do something with the wings in battroid mode instead of just leaving them hanging out into midair? Black Valkyrie
It appeared in Capcom`s 3D mech fighting Tech Romancer for the Dreamcast in 2000. The game has other robot inspiration designs from super robots, Gundam, evas and even The Monster from Macross. I really loved that game ! the white drew carey
IIRC- Kawamori designed it specifically for this game. There was a thread about this mecha a couple of months ago. Try a search and see if it pops up.
the white drew carey
HERE is the thread. Daeudi states that Kawamori is in the credits as the designer of this mecha.
RichterX
That explain it all... Any way... really ugly mecha in fighter mode
Sundown
Fighter mode looks just a little bit A-10-ish. Like if the Huey Super Cobra and the A-10 had a very illegitimate love child. Vaguely reminds me of that blue helicopter/robot from the old Converters line. -Al
