treatment
well, according to TRSI, here's the art-box. It's going to be a 6-disc series, btw. Edited February 4, 2004 by treatment
gnollman
I usually don't... but I think I'll spring for the box on this one. Love this show... but the English dub will never touch my ears. Despite how well the English dub of Abenobashi turned out, I do have some standards....
areaseven
If you pick up this month's issue of Newtype USA, you'll see just how bad the English dub of Azumanga Daioh is. Luci Christian (Kaname in Full Metal Panic!, Nako in Steel Angel Kurumi 2) does an unconvincing job as the voice of Yukari-sensei. Jessica Boone's (Misaki in Angelic Layer) does an even worse job as Chiyo than expected.
Panon
If you pick up this month's issue of Newtype USA, you'll see just how bad the English dub of Azumanga Daioh is. Luci Christian (Kaname in Full Metal Panic!, Nako in Steel Angel Kurumi 2) does an unconvincing job as the voice of Yukari-sensei. Jessica Boone's (Misaki in Angelic Layer) does an even worse job as Chiyo than expected. So, did Newtype have some different kind of preview? Because the Chiyo/Yukari trailer that's online gives exactly the opposite impression of your opinion.
treatment
Fwiw, there is a new trailer with the Yukari-sensei and Chiyo-chan (same as the dubreview.com rip) english-dubs. http://www.advfilms.com/titles/azumanga/index.html forewarned: Yukari-sensei's dub is quite awful. I rather listen to MXC dubs.
