Megahouse VA Orguss to VF Orguss possible?

Given the high quality and relative in-scaledness to 1/60 of Megahouses' VA Orguss, would it be possible to turn it into something close to a VF-Orguss with or without permanent modification? I know the head is different and the backpack, but the rest seems very much the same. I don't know anything about fabricating custom stuff so hopefully someone with insight into the matter can tell me if this is a pipe dream or one day a VF Orguss could grace my collection. Thanks.

I am intending to try this with a 1/48th scale kit, i have one on the way for a fraction of the price of a Megahouse Orguss.

I am hoping it will scale nicely with a 1/60 valkyrie.

I will share some pictures once i make some progress.

One of the guys who once frequented the site here made one and it was on display at MWcon 2010. It was from a 1/40 Orguss and a 1/48 Yamato VF-1. It came out great. I don't know if his pics are still here, but he went by NightmareB4Macross. I believe that was the spelling.
