GBP-1J weathered?

Found this pic....but can't tell if it says whether the weathered GBP-1J is a custom or was actually released? Anyone know if this ever was released as a limited item?

was the original GBP for 1/48th a web exclusive?

if yes, than this was probably just for show.

the signs don't say anything about the armor being weathered. Adding to that, the photo on the back shows an unpainted GBP. If they were to promote a weathered release, they wouldve probably had a weathered photo on the promo poster.

Look at the dates. Its an announcement that a 1/60 version of the gbp is coming. The 1/48 must just have been an eye catch.

Other weathered macross items are displayed....so maybe it was planned for release but ultimately scrapped?

I was wondering how could a 1/48 be that cheap...

they probably saw that people were not willing to pay that much for weathering? I personally would not, since it is a simple process. Although maybe not as good, but not worth the price of almost an additional hundred..
