How do you convert that price into $$?? It looks like it's $300GBP so wouldn't that be nearly $600? Isn't that six times what HLJ is selling it for? I must be doing some bad math somewhere....

Nope, your maths isn't far off - the exchange rate right now is 1.77 USD to 1 GBP, so 300 GBP is ~531 USD... I guess the real point is that HLJ isn't actually selling the kit any more, they have it listed as 'discontinued'.
