  1. His sentence structure, spelling, and general IQ is matched only by the mighty Shadowstrikers.
  2. In a few months we shall see a homage to astro plan... Bootleg the bootleg
  3. The problem with AC2 is that it gets too easy after you get most of your equipment upgrades.
  4. It will be fun to see which ships are decidedly overpowered for their class, say it's the Sovereign, and soon you'll see like hundreds of Sovereigns flying around your system... after the much needed balancing patch, the Sovereign will suck, and everyone will be like, "OMG WHY Th3y GIMP MY FAV SHIP!!?!!1!!! DIS IS NOT FAIR WTF! I'm GOING B4Ck t0 W0W, CYA!"
  5. The case for plagiarism is often times very difficult to make. I am no lawyer, but I suspect that the only time someone can definitively win a case is if a copy is like 99.5% close to the original. Unfortunately, Astro Plan with its blatant Macross inspiration probably has sufficient amounts of small changes to not make it vulnerable to legal action. Case in point being ships from say EVE Online which bear a remarkable resemblance to other ships in anime. Case 1: Megathron-class battleship: vs. White Base: Or: EVE Hyperion class BS: LOGH Hyperion (Yang's flagship): Don't have a good file-photo of this... good quality screenies of LOGH ships are quite hard to fine. Naturally, I have not heard of any lawsuits against CCP for "borrowing" design elements.
  6. Lol since yamato is relying on a fansite for info perhaps we should feed them info about noncanon paint schemes and pass them off as real designs.
  7. You guys are great.... doing pro-bono consulting work for a for-profit corporation .
  8. If I were a Nav'i I would soak both of my exposed nerve endings in big jugs of vodka just for the lulz.
  9. I have a hard time believing that people of reasonable intelligence would take a bunch of cartoon anthropomorphized airplanes seriously enough to draw conclusions about the PLAAF and navy's actual capabilities. This is like saying that the awesomeness of the VF-1 proves that the F-14 is the best fighter ever made.
  10. I like 5 the best as well. It also had the best trench sequence imo. A bit frustrating given how long the sequence is, but I jumped off my chair when I did it. The trench for Zero was sort of contrived, and there really wasn't a "real trench fly-in" for AC6 . The stupid canyon mission doesn't count, they are too short to be considered classic trenches.
  11. I fail to see why people continue to support the AC franchise after Zero. It's always the same damm rehashed story over and over again just with different countries. It would be cool to see a more original story, perhaps a love triangle or rectangle thrown in there somewhere ? Granted the multiplayer in recent iterations is a fresh addition.
  12. Go learn some history. Karate is of Ryukyuan origin, not Japanese, whose civilization was situated on the island chain of the same name between Taiwan and southern Japan. The Ryukyu kingdom was an independent state until it was formally absorbed by Japan in the latter half of the 19th century. Throughout its history, it was heavily influenced by both Chinese and Japanese culture. I would argue more so influenced by China as it was part of the Ming dynasty tributary system, but that is open to debate. Although today, Ryukyuans are nationality-wise Japanese, they maintained a distinct culture and government in the past. The characters for the karate originally meant "Chinese hand," but following its absorption into Japan, it was refashioned into "Empty hand." There is clear evidence to show that the martial art itself is partially derived from Chinese visitors in the region. Likewise, you can find evidence that earlier forms of Chinese martial arts derive from Kalariya-Barat (sp) in India which as eugimon pointed out could have traveled East following the trail of Buddhist monks. The original Karate kid was pure garbage. Most people don't realize that Pat Morita spoke English fluently but was forced to "degrade himself" by speaking broken heavily accented English, in spite of the fact that his character served in the US Army's 442nd during WW2.... epic lulz, oh well. I guess at that time the idea of Asians speaking perfect English was unfathomable, not surprising from the era that brought you such awesome Asian characters like Lon Duk Dong.
  13. I have a gut feeling the next valk will be the VF-4.
  14. They had to make him American, as no member of the aforementioned demographic would believe that a French guy could kick so much a$$, then go on again to fight in the Franco-Prussian war where unfortunately but not unexpectedly his side lost.
  15. Might have been discussed dunno and too lazy to search (was out for a week), but sequel is apparently underway: http://edition.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/Movies...2010/index.html
  16. Bet he has a twin brother too.
  17. I see.... I don't know much about ataraxia other than what's on the internet. Is it even considered canon though? From the descriptions I've read it seemed nothing more than a collection of "short stories and vignettes." What prompts this question is the fact that pretty much everyone from Gilgamesh (though in a different form), and every other servant seem to be alive, though I'm sure there is some absurd type-moon explanation for that too
  18. There is no evidence that the grail is actually a wish-granting machine, rather it has just been perceived as such by the participants of the Holy Grail War. Per the anime, and the prequel light novel it was actually a "corrupting" influence that had to be destroyed. But UBW film looks awesome though... can't wait to see it.
  19. Man I'm having a hard time loading that trailer.... it must be getting ovah 9,000 hits!
  20. I catched the 1st ep of Sora No Woto. Expecting "Military K-On" like most people, I might be surprised. It seems to contain sci-fi/fantasy elements, .... and perhaps even mecha? That tank that the Nagato-lookalike was servicing looked awesome.
  21. Fresh off failblog.org :
  22. The trend towards "end of times" stuff (i.e. zombie takeover, 2012, supra-natural disasters) seems to be increasing in recent times. I attribute this rather unhealthy obsession to the fact that this decade has presented real challenges to Americans for the first time. To keep this non-political, I will simply state that this challenge relates to the general decline (perceived) of American influence in the world. Instead of focusing on how to fix "things", we spend all of our time worrying, fearing, and even hoping for some strange post-apocalyptic clean slate from which we can start over... which explains the irrational stocking of supplies, ammunition, etc for whatever the nuts think is coming.
  23. Well at least they have a black guy in the cast.... and who says Chinese mistreat other minorities lulz? /sarcasm off. There was a case also not long ago, where 5cm/second was ripped pretty much blatantly as well, with minor cosmetic changes.
