Believe they were first mentioned in the loading scenes of the Macross Quarter at the end of episode 6. So first used in episode 7. Before that we had seen Vajra go down to: Being knifed if the head. The small Vajra often fell victim to Michael's sniper gunpod. Red lobster was shot through the head by sniper gunpod but didn't die. Lobster type exploded from being shot by a zentradi energy gun at point blank range through a crack.

Quite likely. In fact I had assumed she did so ever since we heard of "Dr. Mao" in episode 10. Ozma was commenting on the irony of Ranka playing her in the movie. Which means they must have had some interaction on some level, and Ozma must have known about it. Given that we knew Ranka was from the 117th fleet... well put 1 and 1 together..

Seems to me Grace just couldn't reproduce the results that she, together with Mao and Ranshe had managed as team. Or it could be that Ranshe managed with her subject, her own daughter, and Grace knew about it. In any case, she seems have been trying to reproduce Q1 on her own back at galaxy, apparently using homeless children she picked up from the slums (the fairy line).

How many do they usually come with? Episode 18 mentions there being no less than 30 of them in the front. Though scene seemed to imply the possibility they were maybe putting in additional ones? Also, seemed to me like they were preparing a stage of sorts for Ranka, which looked very much like certain legendary one from DYRL

Seemed to me like he was closer to it last episode, where he was more dimissive of it this episode. Still he looked at the photo. Doubt he can keep telling himself "Nah, can't be..." if they meet face to face again.

Hasn't been revealed yet. Ranka obviously has it too, but doesn't seem to be dying. In fact seems like it's the key that allows her to emit fold waves while singing that affects the Vajra. Makes me think that perhaps the doctor trio working together were able to introduce a stable infection into her. Grace working alone doesn't seem to have been as successfull, however.

Never said explicitly in the show. But come on. It's obvious. They're not gonna have TWO major viruses in the show.

Agree wholeheartedly. While I have been slowly warming up to Northern Cross which I really like now, Lion just swept me away instantly. Very catchy.
