The newbie guide to transforming the new Yamato 1/60 VF-1 2.0
pochimus prime replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Toys
yes! I've been wanting one like this as well I'm too scared to transform my valk back to fighter without a guide:( -
Nope, I don't own a 1/48 yet well, hopefully if a deal pushes through this weekend, I'll be able to own a 1/48 instead of a second 1/60 Actually, there's a healthy amount of articulation, there was just a certain post I wanted to do but I couldn't, but it's no biggie I wanted the left shin to face forward, but as said, it's really very minor
-
true, most of the pics being posted here are the older prototypes it seems Bandai's getting very secretive on the progress of their VF-25
-
Thanks for the response guys I've PM'ed the seller and I'm waiting for his reply hopefully, I get first dibs

True, and lack of updated prototypes is further fueling debates. Bandai's been making top-caliber collectible toys outside Macross and afaik this is the first time they'll give the Macross line the same treatment. Of course, when it comes to Macross stuff, Yamato proved themselves to be the king of the hill. Still, I do want more companies to vie for that title. If nothing else, it'll assure us that they'll keep churning out quality products so as not to be eaten by the competition. In that, I don't see people who would hold out on these VF-25 Bandais as Yamato fanboys. Most likely, they want to wait and see how it goes. It also doesn't mean that they think of Bandai as being incompetent overall, only that they're benchmarking Bandai's first attempt at collectoble Macross stuff against Yamato's proven track record which isn't really a bad thing. In that, I personally don't care who manufactures the figs, just as long as they're in scale and that overall quality's top-notch.

I'd also like to know those that voted on these: "Mine is not broken or perfect but I have complaints. " For one, it'll help Yamato improve their products further. Though I voted for perfect, I do have a few very minor complains (that didn't really affect my overall score): 1. The visor's too dark that it's almost black. 2. Yamato's stickers still leave much to be desired. 3. It's tricky to transform due to the way you have to place/remove the t-brace to the nose cone. 4. Additional articulation in the legs could've helped more but really, it doesn't mean that current articulation doesn't cut it. No other complaints here. Much was said about the giraffe neck, but it frankly didn't bother me at all.

Well, EXO and Omegablue both made valid points. Omega gave us a glimpse of a point-of-view of designers and manufacturers (which we do need to know about as well), while EXO's gave a consumer's point-of-view. Both aren't representative of the whole but both did present some arguments that ring true. Could we focus on those and get along?

A new 1/60 sells for about $145 here, and the second-hand 1/48 with FP I saw was exactly the same price
-
@ lowviz: hmm, redtube, I have to check that out Question: Someone's selling a 1/48 DYRL Roy with Super and Strike Parts for the same price as that of a brand new 1/60 V2. I was planning to get a second 1/60 roy for a diorama until I saw this. If you were me, would you buy this 1/48, or go with the 1/60 instead?

the bronze is my favorite of the lot.
-
Cool! I'll check this out this weekend the 6" Flexidisplay is said to be out on October, so these Action Base 1's will do while I wait
-
Oh hehe so not a viable alternative in any way then
-
Yup, that's the one I was thinking of buying these for the 1/60s, but I don't think they'd be able to hold up the valks in battroid mode
-
I guessed as much I was looking for a cheaper alternative to the Flexidisplay (as the S&H to my country effectively doubles the price ) that I can buy locally.
-
You're right I just realized that they're veterans in collectible toys. Their SoC line's really great, just look at how Voltes V turned out. (Background: here in the Philippines, Voltes V is extremely popular even today thanks to the great support of a local TV network). This gives me much more renewd faith in these VF-25's @ Fly4victory: Thanks

most appropriate response ever
-
has anyone tried using the gundam stands? they seem like good, cheap alternatives I know they'll work well in fighter mode, but I don't know if they'll hold up valks in battroid.

1/48+fp's, 1/60, And 1/72 Picture Gallery Pt 2
pochimus prime replied to VF-18S Hornet's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
To all who are interested, here's the response I got from gaoJP of cybph: So the GBP is incompatible with the ver 2. I guess you can force it to fit with modifications and stuff, but I'd rather wait for the GPB ver. 2 than going through that hassle. For its purpose, though, I'm completely happy with ver. 1 1J+GBP as it'll just stay as a display piece anyway I'll bebuying a stand for it so that I can pose it like it'll rain down its missiles in mid-air or in space Ver. 1 FPs are also incompatible with Ver. 2. We'll need to treat these Ver. 2's for what they are: a completely new 1/60 design -

I'll share my pics -
yup, that'll be great for the 1D Civ-suited Hikaru and Lynn

haha thanks As for the matter at hand, it's really unavoidable to compare Bandai's foray out of their usual "chunky money" editions to Yamato's. After the 1/48's Yamato became the yardstick over all others will be measured up. Their praise-worthy execution of the 1/60 perfect transformation further upped the ante. However, I do welcome Bandai in their effort, and if I see potential in their VF-25, I'll support them as much as I'll support Yamato. I want each of them to give each other hefty competition. This'll up the quality and make the price more competitive. Go Yamato.Go Bandai. Consumers win And,yes, it's good to complain or criticize the products because if we just keep our mouths shut, they won't really grasp what their customers want. I do agree that complaining and bashing are two different things. Just for the record, though, I didn't think EXO bashed Bandai for their efforts.

Could you provide pics, more details on the problem, and what fix you did? It'll help any of us who'll encounter it. I'll be getting another one this weekend (for a diorama). I'll see how that turns up.
-
yes, more news has it been confirmed if the VF-25S will be packaged with a full armor? That's the package I want to get: VF-25S + Full armor and VF-25F + Super Armor if those packages are possible.
