Hiya! I'm looking to build a 1:72 scale F-14 tomcat, and am leaning towards a hase kit, but i heard some of them use old toolings? What other kits of F-14's would you guys recommend? Thanks!

Lesse... this kit is big! but probrably requires more 'cleaning up' of the kit, eg. there were a lot of sunken points on the body which needed to be cleaned up. I also thrashed the black decal stripes for the leg and fin on the leg, so i ended up airbrushing on the colors!

Whew! Hi all, man, i've been looking at all you guys doing your kits, couldn't wait to complete mine! As usual, very little time to do much model building (sigh wish i could spend more time, but work, study... sigh) Anywayz... here's a sneak of my VF-0S! A little heavy on the shading, but it looks good to my eye... Again, inspirations from Master WM cheng, his buildups are always great and is what got me doing the hasegawa kits! The kit itself is good, but more problematic areas than usual (i guess the future molds will be very clean as per Hase's other kits.) But overall, it's a beaut. PLUS it's GIGANTIC when placed beside the VF-1!

Wow! Nice job! Hasegawa... time to make enemy mecha now!

There is surfacer white! But only in bottle or spray at 1000 grit/particles.

Hehe.. you're complaining about the paint job? 1) brought my max home, after taking it out to examine, found out that the landing gear cover on one leg couldn't stay in and kept flopping out. didn't bother much until closer inspection.... the ppl who joined this MAX together didn't fit the two halves properly at the knee!!!!! so basically there was a line running down half the leg which allowed you to look into the innards of the leg. Couldn't press the two halves together either... so back to shop.... 2) ... yay! New MAX VF-1J! Pristine! Mint! Wow!.. Wo... waitaminute... something's wrong.... WHY IN THE BLAZES ARE THE FLAPS INVERTED?!?!?!?! Heck, found out that they gave me TWO LEFT FLAPS!!!!!! sonova.... back to shop! Changed the left flap for a correct right flap.. yay! MAX is in one piece again! So that's my MAX nightmare purchase story.... *sigh* I'm sure i was just unlucky. But for those getting the MAX, just check out these few things, cos the only way to do so is to take it out of the box.... poooooooorrrr QC! Really, i didn't have any problems with my other purchases.... sad.
