This is awesome. But they'll have trouble getting the license in North America if Lego ever wants to actually make it.
-
Considering the price of the Cavalier is exactly the same as these new Valks with the special parts it's odd they wouldn't include them.
Not really - because they can re-release the Cavalier with option parts for even more someday...
This. The Cavalier will sell itself. I never put it past any company to attempt a double dip.
-
Are these parts going to be standard with every new release and reissue now? The only thing I pre-ordered is the VF-1A Cavalier, and it would be lame if it didn't come with the "option" parts while still costing the same as the reissues...
I think these option parts are an attempt to double dip, or entice people to buy the old VF-1 valks who have yet to buy one. The Cavalier doesn't list the option parts, so I assume they don't come with them. The only reason why I am buying a VF-1S is because I've always wanted an extra one since Roy's is my favorite valk and I love the blue flightsuit. I was waiting for restock, but I don't mind paying a bit more for the option parts.

May release. I like that the side panels are white to match the rest of the valk.
May is going to be super expensive. I already have the Yf-29, a Figma, Revoltech, and now the TV VF-1S coming. That's over 26,000 yen before shipping. And that's just from Amiami.

It’s not the first time AE keep some of their highly demanded but not too abundant toys to sell them later at higher prices, e-bay prices I dare say. They’ve done this with the YF-29.
Well, it looks like it works for them, since it appears they sold it.
Super Pack out soon?
Supposed to be this month I believe. So hopefully soon. I haven't gotten anything Macross in a while.
-
Anyone need a VF-25S still? Anime-Export has one. But they're asking 25,800 yen.
-
Now that I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if Bandai suddenly announces in June or July that Michael or Luca will come out in September, and the other one will arrive late December. Something like that.
-
Ooh! I hope Tokyo Hunter sends me my set soon then!
-
I expected an announcement on the other remaining Messiahs, so yeah, generally I'm surprised at how Bandai has handled everything.
At this point in time, I've tried to put the 171 out of sight, out of mind, so I am pleasantly surprised by the time Summer comes around.

Yeah, if you missed the preorder windows, you pretty much have to a) pay the higher prices if you want one, or b) wait for a rerelease, which may or may not happen, and even when it happens, you have to be there to order during the preorder window. The YF-29 was rereleased almost a year later and the preorder for the re-release lasted all of a few minutes before it sold out.
My recommendation is that for these renewals, they are not worth $300 + shipping. The most I'd be comfortable paying is maybe $200 - $230 range. Every once in a while deals will come up. You just have to watch online boards like a hawk.
-
Maybe. It should. But places like eBay are strange. Some sellers refuse to budge and they'll hang onto something at a specific price until they die.
-
Yes, what treatment said. Wait for the new release. I'm looking to buy a second one, so I'm waiting also.
-
7 is not as awful as it's made out to be.
You're right. It's worse.
Eh, to each their own. I personally found M7 to be unwatchable. And I've watched some pretty terrible stuff. I do love the mech designs, which is why I bought the latest M7 valks. The 17 is in my top 3-5 valk toys ever.

Those Thunder Hammer sets are badass.
-
How did an HLJ sale topic discussion get hijacked into a Mac7 one? Haha...
Most likely because the sale wasn't that great.
-
Don't rush it. You gotta take the months one VF at a time.
April - VF-1D with option parts
May - VF-1A Cavaliers
June - VF-171EX
Good advice.
Actually, the next few months looks great for me:
April - VF-1D, VF-25F Super Parts
May - YF-29.
June - VF-171EX
July - VF-25S Armour Parts.
-
Um... is it June yet?

The past 12 months have been amazing for Macross. Really looking forward to the rest of the 2012 releases. My wallet will be sad, but I will be happy.
I now absolutely NEED a CF version. I don't care if it's a Tamashii exclusive. I need it!
-
I love that canopy colour.
-
Post a want ad. Maybe someone who has one of the earlier v2 releases with the fubar'd joints will give you one from their broken valk.
-
Sexy. I am so glad I preordered this beast. Amiami better not let me down. (They never have in the past, don't have any real reason to think they will fail me other than paranoia.)
-
been a while since i ordered anything from the regula vendors (amiami hlj etc). out of the available preorders, do any of them let you pay upon shipment or are they all pay up front (amiami, hlj)? i know bbts is pay on shipment but they are at $165 or so.
Both amiami an HLJ are pay later.
-
*Sigh* I was looking forward to this sale...but nothing really catches my eye like last time with the VF-11b...
Same.
-
Out of the dozens of times I've gotten a package from AmiAmi, I've only gotten an oversized box once and I've never gotten any kind of white sponge type packing materials. They always use either a pink packing paper or fitted cardboard frames. Perhaps they have different practices for different countries.
As for their shipping prices, I always use EMS and I've never seen a substantial difference between AmiAmi and HLJ.
Same. I have ordered from Amiami more times than I can count. I always get the packing paper or the cardboard frames.

I wouldn't either. I only buy legos for my nephews. If I started buying Lego for myself, it would be the end of me. I have to draw the line somewhere, and paying the crazy currency exchange to import lego doesn't appeal to me.
But it's pretty freaking awesome.
