  1. Got a email on my set as well. Any word if anything beyond the armor coming with the set?
  2. Thora has all BD episodes subbed. They also have Macross Zero BD release as well.
  3. It is quite the opposite. The ride armor is so simple. A couple of steps and you just attach the bike to another action figure. You probably custom make one for Halloween if you put some time into it. The old chunky monkey has a more complicated transformation sequence than the ride armor. The VF-25 is far more complex.
  4. Yes and I am pretty sure they all have since the vf-25g I think. I think it looks good that way when I zoom it around the room or have it in the stand in a banking turn.
  5. OK I went with a satin finish and W W! It looks simply amazing. I knew it would make the unpainted plastic look better but I really did not expect this much of a difference. The yellow highlights are now the same texture as the rest of the armor as a nice little bonus. So far I have only done the armor. Right now I cannot find my modeling knife so I am unable to mask off the canopy on the messiah itself. If it is within your skill set to give yours a coat I encourage you to do so. I cannot explain the difference it makes. The coat will help with paint scrapes and chips as well. For those with forearm armor problems the additional texture and thickness will give a tighter grip. I know when I first saw how the forearm armor attached I was a little skeptical. After attaching I did a few pulls to see how much force was needed and it did not seem like much. Surprisingly neither fell off after 2 transformation cycles. Now the force need to remove the forearm armor is noticeably greater. Once I do the actual arms tomorrow it should be that much firmer. Just a added bonus to the sexy.
  6. After looking at mine for a few hours I just keep thinking how much better it will look with a flat clear coat. I like the glossy look on Alto's ride but semi-glossy grey does not work for Ozma's. The white show pony should be flashy but a low-vis-grey flying tank piloted by a grizzled veteran should be the opposite. I also think the armored pieces will look 'harder' and heavier.
  7. Got mine yesterday along with a second alto for the alto custom armored set coming out next month. Both were free of grease except for one of the large wing armor/cannon/launchers. I did notice a very strong fresh paint smell when I opened the two parts clam shells with most of the yellow pieces. The paint was fine and did not fell tacky to the touch. Since I could still smell a good bit of paint from the yellow pieces I left them untouched and uncovered overnight. The smell seemed to be mostly gone today so I armored that bird up! Fully armored it definitely has some heft to it now. Looks fantastical as a fighter and pretty tough as a battroid too. Right now I am contemplating what detail enhancement I might do. Being the coward that I am I will probably wait to see what others do and steal their ideas. Still the gold vent/heat sinks on the wing booster scream for some dry brush action.
  8. Its amazing how much larger the armored appears in fighter mode next to the VF-25G. Almost like they are a different scale. Just a few more hours till mine is delivered!
  9. Mine arrives tomorrow. Mostly completing my squadron, my Alto armored pieces are still for September release I hope.
  10. It appears the issues of quality control seem to hit a few people a lot and a few of us have had little to no problems. Just curious where the buyers with the qc issues got their dx's from? Its not that unusual for products that fail to pass qc end up on the gray market. For some importers getting a pallet at half the price is all that matters. I would just recommend dealing with a seller that you can return a sub-standard product for a replacement fairly easy.
  11. I was thinking about the web shop exclusive http://p-bandai.jp/tamashiiwebshouten/item-1000002741/
  12. Is the armored Alto custom on the home page the limited release 1/60 armor set, the recent 1/72 armored model kit, a VF100 or a future release? http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/_main_menu.htm Posting a link since I am sure most have the forums bookmarked only.

  14. It is the most fun I have had with a valk since I was 7 and got my Jetfire for Christmas. I have been following this thread for a while and I hear over and over what Yamato would have done different. Up until just recently when I got a new yamato valk I thought the fun was getting a migraine while transforming it for the first and last time. If anything I think Yamato should take some ideas from Bandai in the sturdiness department. My yams are nice to look at but just looking gets old fast. Ever have company over and someone ask you to *gasp* transform them??? I feel like a deer caught in headlights! BTW the lasers are a easy fix with some hot water or a hair dryer.
  15. I liked it and it is one of the seven constructicons, all seven will form one titanic bot considering OP was the size of one of the component bots head. There are also rumors of a transforming carrier.
  16. I like them. For once it will be nice when some one ask me to transform a valk I can say sure!. Yam's get transformed once, posed and never touched again out of fear.
