  1. I busted out the yf-19 today. I was feeling a little nostalgia for it. I've mostly kept in fighter mode and in storage since i first bought back in 2008. It's still decent in fighter mode but wow does battroid mode ever suck. I'm not sure if this is normal or not but hopefully one of you can tell me. During transformation i noticed the legs and torso separate quite easily from from the rest of the yf-19. The legs in particular don't look like they click or attach to anything...they just slide in. So if you spread the legs too far apart they will actually separate from the body.

  2. If even NY could sell out 28 pieces in a matter of a minute or so... just who IS buying all these?

is the Frontier /Valk fandom that big enough that these keep getting snapped up?

It's because its the same people buying their second, third (fourth?) copy. 28 quanity won't last long that way.

  3. Yeah, we're pretty much completely on our own with replacement parts, even moreso than with Yamato. Apparently, Bandai's policy with replacing parts is "Send us the whole thing and we'll give you a new one. At your expense."

Been over 6 months since I requested a replacement crotch plate for my VF-25G, and still no response. I get the feeling Bandai just told NY to go suck a tailpipe when I requested just the part instead of shipping the whole thing back to Japan.

That is common operating procedure for NY. I've had 2 incidents of damaged product that they simply never responded to my emails about it.

  4. Annoyed at the moment as yesterday I had it in my cart at both Amiami and Hobby Search but couldn't check out. NY mark up is ussually about 2000-3000 Yen from retail on the first few batches they put up. After that it will go up again. The VF-171CF had an initial mark up of 2000 yen and the RVF-25 had an initial mark up of 3000 yen. But anything can happen just like now where NY is over stock on the YF-29 30th anniversary and now have it on sale with 2,500 mark up as compared to their previous mark up of 4,500.

Yeah i can't believe i paid over $300 preorder for the yf-29 back in Oct at NY and now it's there in stock for only $208. I wish i would've known this back in Oct.

  5. For the Cannon Fodder and YF-29 NY-san put the new marked-up batch up around 1900 - 2000 JST the same day as release.

For the RVF NY-san did not have the new batch up until around 0900 - 1000 JST the next day.

It's a crapshoot but totalyl worth it even at 180-190 since before that ALto's were 350

Yeah but the yf-29 fokker version went up to $300 the next day. I wouldn't be suprised if this followed suit.

I subscribe to an email newsletter from CD Japan. That's where I got the link. Received the email just after 3pm (HK time / 4pm Japan time), clicked on the link and placed the order and paid. Did it all on my phone as well, even though I had NY, Ami Ami, AE and CD Japan open on the laptop.

I subscribe to that newsletter as well. I never got that email tonight for some reason. Got it last time for the rvf-25.

  6. While we're waiting on this thing to go live I gotta say I'm digging the Macross II World banner we got goin at the top. Don't care if it is April Fools. I like it :)

It's bittersweet. If yamato was still around, this year could've been the year they released the vf-2ss web exclusive.
