At least the VF-2SS was prominently featured in a multi-episode OVA series, even if it's been retconned out of the main continuity, and could conceivably be customized for the numerous pilots shown to be flying them. And there's also the VF-2J Icarus, an offshoot though admittedly quite different in appearance and transformation, so not at all the same mold but still an attractive relation to the -2SS.

Anyone have a pic of the VF-2J Icarus? A google search has proved fruitless. I have only a vague recollection of it in the Macross II ova since all the mecha action flashed by too quickly like the majority of all the other early 90s ovas.

Cool, glad you liked it! I think the biggest thing is that it had been a long time since I watched the original Transformers show. The last time I saw the majority of it was Generation 2 and some reruns on Sci-Fi Channel. I've been steadily making my way through more of the DVD boxset, though, and getting more caught up. Let me know if there are particular episodes you'd like us to talk about. I was planning on just doing the multi-parters and maybe little ones here and there that were favorites of mine.

I'd like to see most of the first season done. I have a lot of fond memories from it. The skyfire and insecticon "arcs" most noteably. Also the "five faces of darkness" 5 parter from season 3. The headmaster 3 parter that made up season 4 would probably be fun.

Every time I read this guys description it makes me wonder how he sells anything as he seriously needs to work on his marketing skills.

I'm currently watching s2 of Gundam 00. Over the holliday's i've been catching up on some older anime like Victory Gundam, Turn A Gundam and genshiken s1 & 2. I'm hoping to have time to go through Yamato s1 and 2 as well, if i have time.

What's the best way to cut these stickers out? Especially the circle stickers. I bought a valkyrie that already had these stickers applied and the cuting around the edges was pretty rough.

I wasn't a fan of the color scheme myself but bought it because of the price. However the color scheme has grown on me though this is my first 1/48 so i may just be in awe of of the 1/48 sculpt itself.

That always happens to me. Whenever there is a good deal i go to bid but then i notice "Will only ship to the US" written in the description. It's so frustrating.

Yeah i realize that. That was my point. I didn't think the Vf-1 was that much smaller that the yf-19. From watching the anime i'd always assumed they were around the same size.

I was wondering whats shipping like for the angelbird to the US? i checked and it looks like the estimate is around $40. but the shipping tables seems a lot lower. How do you guys ship it?

My angel bird just came in a couple days ago and i love it. I basically just bought cause it was a good starting price for 1/48. I was pleasently suprised about how awesome it was considering i didn't care for the paint scheme. After buying this i definately want to pick up more 1/48s. The only bad thing is the right hand of the angel bird fell apart and broke without even touching it. I'm hoping this was a fluke event because the rest of the toy is awesome.

What's interesting is how close together in size the 1/60 yf-19 is to the angel bird. I never noticed that the YF-19 was so much bigger than the VF-1 in comparison.

I just got the Angel Bird 1/48 valkyrie and the right hand broke after just touching it. Trying to fix it made it worse. I really don't want to go to the hassle of returning it so does anyone reading have a spare set they'd be willing to part with? Thanks.

That sucks.... you should sell it on ebay to a japanese guy who can get free shoulders and just buy a fixed release.

Is there a fixed release? I heard only the VF-0S with the ghost booster has that problem fixed.
