Eh, I'm not sure the fact that Pineapple was baked into a cake is a sure-Fire (Bomber) recipe to escape death. Oh, and while the What 'Bout my Star at Formo ver and the duet performance from episode 15 hints at how awesome Lion might be when we finally hear it, I think Northern Cross is my new favorite. Finally we get an ending song that can go up there with After In the Dark! And on additional viewings I really have to reiterate how completely sexy the Bond style video is.

Yeah, I really thought things would've changed by this point. Even I came close to voting for Ranka on this one... I had mentioned in the first frontier girls thread that I wanted to conduct the poll every 5 episodes to see how fan opinion of the girls changed over time, and then we could run some statistics at the end of the series. 5 Episodes later, not much had changed according to the second poll, though it looks like Klan Klan's support got bigger (all inuendo intended.) I am most curious to see if Sheryl loses some ground to Ranka with MWers as she's done with Alto. However, Sheryl's Valkyrie piloting in Episodes 13 & 14 may have saved more than just her life. For (some semblence of) statistical completeness the same choices have remained in the poll. Alto Hime and Bobby have not been included because of that reason, and well, they have a Y chromosome. KIA's have also remained as valid options. This is a universe where cloning is a viable alternative to necrophilia after all. Also not to be confused with Miss Macross Frontier Contest, Round 2 (episode 14-19) which is more of a speculative thread and poll on who Alto should end up with rather than a comprehensive fan popularity poll. Interestingly enough, given a limited set a choices and the ability to select multiple answers it seems Sheryl's popularity remains about the same and Ranka's improves. So can we infer that Klan and Nanase siphon away Ranka votes, or is it that most Sheryl fans are much like Alto and if not forced to choose one would simply take both? EDIT: Doh! Forgot to change the thread title to Part 3...

Episode 15 makes me wonder whether I'd rather be Alto or Bilrer. While jets and girls are cool, dude has a heck of a model railroad setup and a cosplay maid. Throw in some cat ears and that'd just seal the deal...unless Ranka and/or Sheryl had cat ears...

It truly was a dimension eater as every MWer across the globe has suddenly lost 1.5 minutes. I LOLed though. The accompanying Ninjin loves you made the process that much more absurd, and I was hanging in there to the very end just to see what happened.

I'd even be so bold as to say he's on a fair number of occassions more masculine than our protagonist, Alto. I'm glad to see he's not the overly cliched gay guy and think the feminine aspects of his personality allows a good chemistry with the bridge bunnies while his more masculine aspects are exactly what the OP was looking for in someone handling Macross Quarter.

What. Battroid Carnival (or whatever it was) was great! I especially loved when And hearing "Riding in your valkyrie" as a BGM track. Say what you will about Macross 7, but this was an awesome tribute episode at the time.

Yes, I suppose Luca's reason for being there is fairly believable. Just think how many times you've seen (or been) a summer intern who was there because of nepotism.

There was at least plausible explaination for that. They needed every pilot they could get after the Macross folded, and some flight time was way better than no flight time. I'm not seeing the same necessity in a relatively peaceful fleet of millions, where there must be some veteran/experienced/ace pilots among the ranks of active military. I'm just saying most anime has some reason (plausible or not) why the teenagers have to pilot the mecha. Frontier is just like: "What? That's what teenagers do in a mecha genre show. You need a better reason?"

I checked my realism at the door when a Private Military Contractor decided it'd make good sense to hire high schoolers with no significant flight time, rather than try to recruit from the massive pool of potential applicants across the frontier fleet with thousands of flight hours. If you can get past that, you should have no trouble with anything else in Frontier.

Unless this love triangle has a strong swing back to Sheryl in Episode 15, I imagine the next time I post this poll, we should be seeing some better numbers for Ranka. Unless, my girl takes this turn of events rather poorly, I imagine I'll be sticking with her to the end though.
