  1. Much thanks! And to refresh people's memories, here are the other three: SPATA TUSRJ MSBWP
  2. Heh, in order to save space, I've been exchanging my DVD cases for thinkpak ones, and to fit the case covers into the new cases, I have to shave off a couple of millimeters from both sides of the covers. However, for my Macross DVDs, they're the only ones who I haven't altered (well, I did do the Manga releases, but I don't really care about those discs). Such is the esteem that I hold them with.
  3. You know, I wasn't originally going to get this, but now that I've "witnessed" some of it, I guess I'm going to pre-order the Blu-ray. I swear, the Macross franchise is actively trying to find ways to make me spend $100 a month on Macross stuff...
  4. PSP UMD games are region-free so the disc will work on a US PSP.
  5. That's probably it. I'm fairly certain I had rankings all over the map on that one until I was able to level up a bit, so it should just be enough to clear that era to unlock those features.
  6. A souped up Koenig Monster should do the trick. Max out the gunpod and use anything extra on health and armour and then spam that gunpod. Since you're shooting two, if all the bullets hit, you'll get combos of 200+, and if you up the attack power, you can finish the stage in a couple of minutes. With this tactic, I've been getting SS on all the big boss stages. Edit: And that's weird. Until today, I didn't have that one S ranked either (only A) and I already had the options that you're missing unlocked (my shop level is at 1 since I'm trying to avoid using the shop). I'm thinking S ranking Chronicle stuff is the only way to get the characters I'm missing and Gamlin's VF-22 without using shop credits.
  7. I pre-ordered this months before I even had a DVD Player and paid full price for it. Thank you AnimEigo for such a wonderful release!
  8. I've been trying to get through the game as much as possible without using the Nyan Nyan shop (mine's still on Level 1). If memory serves, EX mode is unlocked once you clear all the regular missions. I recently unlocked Ultimate Mode, and I had to S rank all the regular missions to get it. S ranking all Frontier missions unlocks Fast Pack Klan. I wasn't really paying attention so there could be additional circumstances (I've been jumping around trying to clear and S rank what I can and if I can't, upgrade valkyries and try again later), but I've got a 99% clear (still waiting for that last password; there are four, right?) and 97% items (anyone know how to unlock Gamlin's black VF-22?). My chronicle mode games range from S to D (mainly been concentrating on clearing the missions, I'll go back and level up and try to S rank later). Currently working on trying to get EX rankings for all the missions, but still missing a few valkyries. If I can't progress any further, I'll probably try leveling up the Nyan Nyan shop, but I want to see how much my mad skillz can unlock first.
  9. Your JPN Phat should just work with the Limited Edition UMD video disc with no modification or region spoofing needed (the UMD is region 2 encoded which includes Japan). In theory, if you have custom firmware, you could use one of many programs to rip the disc and other PC software to convert the video to MP4 format. Of course, if you don't have custom firmware, then I think the dazzle option is the only way to go.
  10. I can say for a fact that region spoofing through the recovery menu doesn't work with 5.50 GEN-B. Any other programs I try to use to rip the UMD Video (I've tried PSP Filer, UMD Rip, USB SSS, USB connection through the recovery menu) don't work as it can't read the disc. I've got a US PSP-1001. So I'm out of ideas. Don't suppose someone with a Region 2 PSP (can be Japan or Europe) would be willing to rip the UMD and post the videos?
  11. I already have that. Seriously, I need some step-by-step instructions. Region spoofing via firmware hack does not work. I've tried a couple of programs to rip it but it won't read. So maybe I'm using the wrong programs or am just doing it wrong.
  12. So how would one go about doing that? I've tried but had no success. Are there steps posted online somewhere?
  13. Or worse: the pachinko machine IS the valkyrie!
  14. I don't think you necessarily have to LIVE in Japan to buy things off the Japanese PS Store. It should be enough to have a PSN account set to Japan with a Japanese address, even if you live in the US or Hong Kong (you may have to create a new one if you're already using one from another country). You can get around credit card issues by using Japanese PSN cards but you'll need to buy them from somewhere.
  15. Any word on what PSP Firmware version will be required to play it? If it's 5.50 then there are custom firmware options, but if it's 5.55 or 6.00, theoretically, those kinds of users might be screwed unless they jump through a few hoops or if they switch to official firmware versions.
  16. Wow. If that's the case, I don't know what to say. Still hoping that the new animation will be used for more than just a pachinko game though.
  17. Actually, do you think they're going the Star Wars SE route and re-animating certain portions for an eventual blu-ray release? I know they did the HD re-master a while back for DVD, but maybe they decided to go all the way. I really want to know what this new animation is going to be used for. The suspense is killing me!
  18. This is a crap load of effort for a pachinko game. Will it even have a video screen? This is either for a game on a home console, or something else... Edit: And by "crap load" I mean overkill. Not that I'm complaining, but wow.
  19. SRW Hot News has scans of the latest from Famjitsu: Page 1 Page 2 Here's a question: Do you think we'll ever get Kathy as an operator? It would make sense...
  20. I think that's a big part of it there too. Some of us run custom firmwares, but are concerned that the UMD movie won't play on it. Custom firmwares have support to play video from multiple regions, but it's kind of wonky and sometimes (most times?) doesn't work properly. I guess we'll find out when it comes out, along with if we'll be forced to upgrade firmware versions to play the game.
  21. To clarify: - UMD Movies are region coded (according to the same zones as DVDs) - UMD Games are not (generally) region coded (so a US disc game should be playable on an Asian or Japanese PSP) To tell what region your PSP hardware came from, open the battery door and read the model number (Order in the list below is Model Number, Country of Origin, DVD/UMD Region): PSP-1000 - Japan - REGION 2 PSP-1000 K - Japan - REGION 2 PSP-1000 KCW - Japan - REGION 2 PSP-1001 K - USA - REGION 1 PSP-1002 K - Australia, New Zealand - REGION 2 PSP-1003 K - UK - REGION 2 PSP-1004 K - Europe - REGION 2 PSP-1005 K - Korea - REGION 3 PSP-1006 K - Hong Kong - REGION 3 PSP-1007 K - Hong Kong and Southeast/East Asia - REGION 3 Of course, this is for the original fat (or phat, I like to call it) model. If you have a slim 2000 or 3000 series, sub it in (so instead of PSP-1000 for Japan, it'd be PSP-2000 or PSP-3000, etc). More info here: http://psp3d.com/general-psp-discussion/14...n-your-psp.html
  22. Is it just me, or does Minmei kind of look deformed in that LE cover? Or just really, really young or something? Either way, she just looks kind of off to me.
  23. SRW Hotnews has more Famitsu Scans: http://superrobotwar.files.wordpress.com/2...fa0805_muf4.jpg http://superrobotwar.files.wordpress.com/2...fa0805_muf5.jpg
  24. The main tricks are to successfully grab and place all the containers, and to melee the grunts in a timely fashion. Also, as soon as you (or your wingman) target Gigil, you HAVE to kill him in like less than 5 seconds or so to get the bonus (you'll know someone's targeted him when he starts talking again saying he's "found you"). So either you try to avoid targeting Gigil for as long as possible killing grunts until you can work your way to his position (and also buy time for your various gauges to build up), or you try to position yourself such that when he appears you can quickly target and dash to him and take him out with a one-hit SP attack kill.
  25. You know, one has to wonder: will this song be used in the franchise? If so, could it spell a return for Minmay the character? Or maybe it's just one of those singles that Minmay released but we never heard until now. Unless the song were to appear in animated footage with everyone singing; then that would definitely be an event!
