  1. VF-0A 1st release - left arm broke a year ago, right arm broke 2 wks ago when I took it out from display, transform it a few times to apply stickers.

VF0A Shin - still perfect in 1 piece.

VF0S - didn't own any but I am getting a reissue when it is available next month...

  2. whats with the random shot of the 0A?

Love the other pics though. is the Hikaru paint just a custom or Photoshop?

    Hikaru is the "old" 1/48

I think his point is that the 0A has the extended giraffe section just like the new VF-1. It's lineart accurate for the zero, but not for the VF-1.

I don't know about lineart, but yes, just wanted to show the VF-0 is very similar...

  3. Just an FYI--Graham's on vacation and won't be visiting MW much for a little while---that's why the mods are posting the reviews etc. :) (but he finished the review just before he left so it'd be ready in time for the official release)

PS--pic request for Swoosh---could I have pics of the left and right tailfins so I can see exactly how straight the skulls are printed?

They looks ok, am I lucky?

  4. So I guess fragile BP8 hinge isn't an issue with the 1/60??

P.S. - I love how the canopy doesn't bulge out on the sides as much as the 1/48

I heard people say about BP-8 many times, but what is the issue with it, they breaks?

Thrusters are now clip to the backplate, and a little peg on each of them to lock with the backpack, so I don't really understand why they need to add the big folding hook.

  5. Slightly OT, but Swoosh--is your YF-19 a 1st release or 2nd release? Have you modified it in any way? The shoulders in fighter mode caught my eye, as do the extremely well-fitting leg seams behind the shoulders in fighter mode.

It is a 2nd release, I didn't modify it... but I remember I have to force fit it a little bit in the first few transformation.

Swoosh, hows the transformation, any different/more difficult than the 1/48?

90% like the 1/48, a bit tricky in the swing bar area.

Everything holds tights together, I like the new FAST pack attachment design, very solid! It can support the weight of the whole Valk, I have a feeling that Yamato will come out a new lanch arm to hold it upside down!!!

The biggest surprise to me are the stickers!! It is so thin, non reflective and conform to the surface very well!!

    Is there a gundpod strap?

No sling is included, but attachment point are there.... so may be.... accessories pack later?

Material used and texture is way better than 1/48, sureface looks smooth, and both the Valk and FAST pack has darker color compare with the 1/48.

Loads of tempo printing!! would be perfect if they also have Roy's name printed.

Looks like the sticker sheet has imporved, I may use it this time.

All missle can attach tightly to the wing, will not pop off like the 1/48 and 1st SV-51 Ivanov

Intake cover and landing gear are a little bit too diifficult to open since the gap are so small, but sure it is not a problem.

    Nosecone is not that short!!

  7. you say that like it makes some sort of difference.

this is bandais first attempt in trying to satisfy fickle nitpicking macross fans. you think yamato gets ripped a new one for everyone of their releases, just wait until this comes out and the members here have their say. sure bandai has made some good things over the years but they've never made anything like this, and its for harshest most critical fans on this planet.

please feel free to preorder and test it out for us...

my use of the rolling eyes is kind of obnoxious no?

Yamato and Bandai are different, me and you are different. Just like I don't need to pre-order anything and have them mailed to me, and normally our store will have them on the same day they have released in Japan.

I use rolleyes just because I GUESS you didn't read the topic. I don't care if you say Mattel or Herpa is making this VF-25, I will still give the same reply if I wish.

  8. i'll wait for the 2nd release with all the bells, whistles, and fixes.

sure yamatos QC is getting better but this is a whole new toy, that they're making for the very first time.....i forsee many problems.

i paid $200 to be yamatos test dummy once and once was enough for me.

    this is from Bandai...

  9. The paint job is perfect and it has very fine panel lines... except the nose is missing the Yukikaze symbol.

The only thing other than the lack of Yukikaze on the nose is the stand is a light purple.

The one on toysdaily got the yukikaze marking....
